Off the Ground

I think OTG is a fine album. The only thing is that Macca made about 20 albums which are better, imo.

If anyone can get their hands on "Is It Raining In London?" I will love them forever. And ever. And ever.
All we have is the 5-10 seconds on Movin' On. I assume they completely finished the song, didn't they? It was far enough along to have an orchestra. To me, Is It Raining in London is the holy grail of McCartney unreleased solo songs. I love Hamish's vocals and hope I can one day hear the full song.
I watched that clip over and over when I bought Movin' On!

Holy crap! Audi, look what I found: It's not full orchestra, but it's something: Edit: It also doesn't feature Paul. Bummer. At least we know what the song sounds like.
This reminds me of how well Hamish and Paul's voices meshed together. They have a similar phrasing and way of holding notes out although Hamish has a more bluesy finish on some notes. I would have loved to see Paul's concerts in 89/90 or 93.

My dad said he saw Paul I think in 1993. He said Paul did pretty well with those concerts. I forgot when Off the Ground came out? Was it in the early 1990's?

Thanks people. Some interesting points. I'm already a fan of Flowers in the Dirt and Press to Play, so next stop for me is Pipes of Peace. As usual I've read some opinions on this, and they seem completely polarised. I know the title track and Say Say Say, but the others I have never heard. Ordering CD today.
Hope you like it. For me, it is just sort of background music...nothing to really pay attention to.....MJ brings the energy to the album. On their duets, Paul seems to be a backup singer. MJ brings funk. The title track sounds okay, but some of the lyrics are kind of cringe inducing....the part about teaching children about pipes of peace instead of burn baby burn. Still, it has "So Bad", one of his best solo ballads ever....IMO. It just didn't measure up to its predecessor "Tug of War". Let's put it that way.

PoP is a good album, not better than Tug of War but is good. MJ makes a good contrast with Paul. My preferred song is So Bad... this song could be just the bass and still be good.

My first Macca concert was the "Off The Ground" tour & it was a great show that included Linda. The album has a soft spot in my heart

Ditto. Mind you, it's the only time he has toured Australia since I was old enough to be a fan. But yeh, every time I see the cover I think of the concerts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Complete '93 Sydney, Australia concert! And he did "Get Out Of My Way" that night! I wasn't so lucky when I saw him in concert shortly after this show:

There were a few songs from the 1993 New World Tour that Paul performed elsewhere, but not at the venue where I saw him, which was Giants Stadium NJ (Jet as well as the song you posted come to mind)...as an aside to the location to where I saw him, I recall Paul always referring to the audience as 'People of NY' and Linda playfully reminding him that were were actually in NJ...LOL

You can actually view a stripped down to just bass and vocals version of So Bad on Youtube

I really like Hope of Deliverance and C'Mon People.

Neat picture and brings back memories of seeing the show in 1993. I know everybody is in love with McCartney's current band but this group was pretty good also. Nice picture of Linda McCartney also.
