Sounds fairly legit to me! Can't wait!

Whatever this is it won't be an improvement on the bootleggers. For over a decade almost the complete BBC recordings have been circulating, with most all the chat and most all the music that exists. Much more than will ever be released through Apple. Even the first BBC album was cobbled together. For instance there are many BETTER recordings both soundwise and performance wise of some of the selections that made it to that album, that for whatever reason were not chosen: the one that really stands out is Hippy Hippy Shake. There are many more. In fact the overall sound on the official BBC recordings was substandard, compared to the bootlegs!!! Now, as for the marketing. Early October: the BBC Volume 2 and a week later a new Howlett book. Will they clash with McCartney's new album? Will they clash with Mark Lewisohn's epic 1st installment? This is all very dumb sequencing or a stroke of genius. That looks like a very congested October/November period.

Most of the source material is from bootlegs themselves, as was the first BBC album. Yes, I too hope the sound is better, because on the first album -it was the bootlegs that had far superior sound! I know because I've got them all.

Agreed. I've had the complete BBC sessions on a 10 CD set for AGES, almost the last 15 years, so not too much interest for me. Howlett's BBC book and Lewisohn's book (both of which I have on preorder), are due to be released THE SAME DAY, at least here in the USA. Silly, in my view, although I'm glad to get both at once

well i believe it when its really released.

Me too. New Beatles releases are pretty big news. So why has this only been reported on one website? Oh never mind...so it has been more than one. ops: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/beatles-live-at-the-bbc-vol-2/

I've played my Beatles @ The BBC CDs (the 1994 official release) more times than I can remember. I wonder if this collection will be as charming and awesomely musical.

Interesting as of 12:15pm EST - my FB link from the MCA FB post on August 10th with this photo was taken down. Perhaps enough of us hardcore fans broadcasted this pre-emptedly as it was announced on that page this would be coming out in Nov.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/beatles-plan-second-volume-of-bbc-recordings-20130828 New anthology is set for release in November By Erin Coulehan - Rolling Stone August 28, 2013 9:55 AM ET Beatles fans have discovered that a new anthology of previously unreleased recordings of the band from mid-1960s appearances on BBC radio is due out this fall, The Guardian reports. MCA Music in the Philippines, a division of Universal Music, is releasing On Air ? Live at the BBC Volume 2 in November.

This is a bunch of bunk...nothing "new" has been discovered. EVERY session they ever did between 1962 and 1965, apart from maybe 20 tracks, has been available on bootleg for the last 20 years. In superior quality to the official release. I bought the first BBC release in 1994 but I haven't played those discs in probably 15 years since I got the bootleg set. I think this set will get the same treatment...I'll buy it for the packaging and file it away. Still it's nice that they're releasing something of interest to the general public!

http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/12/4723500/the-beatles-releasing-new-compilation-of-bbc-performances-november-11 One more time : Prepare for "new" music from the Fab Four. On November 11th, The Beatles will release a followup to their 1994 album Live at The BBC. On Air ? Live at the BBC Volume 2 will include 63 tracks that hit the BBC airwaves between 1963 and 1964. None of the content here overlaps with the prior BBC compilation, according to a newly issued press release. Performances include 37 songs that are previously unreleased commercially, and fans will also hear 23 unreleased recordings of in-studio chatter between John, Paul, George, Ringo, and various radio hosts.

The 1994 version of The Beatles Live at the BBC is being reissued on the same day...remastered. http://www.thebeatlesonline.co.uk/thebeatles/thebeatles/Live-At-The-BBC-Volume-1-Repack-Remastered/2Q4K0000000?back= Makes me wonder if there will be an Anthology 4 next year, with Carnival of Light and Now and Then.

^at this point, those 2 songs and the 27-minute Helter Skelter would be the only things I'd be REALLY interested in. The rest, I've already got on bootleg.

13.Boys (Dixon-Farrell) Pop Go The Beatles Trans: 25 June 1963 Rec: 17 June 1963 Studio Five, BBC Maida Vale, London Producer: Terry Henebery The Shirelles? original was the flip-side of the biggest of their three British hits - ?Will You Love Me Tomorrow?. The single topped the American charts - one of 22 pop hits scored by The Shirelles in the States. This Pop Go The Beatles recording was released in 1995 on an EP of four BBC performances called Baby It?s You. 18.Lend Me Your Comb (Twomey-Wise-Weisman) Pop Go The Beatles Trans: 16 July 1963 Rec: 2 July 1963 Studio Five, BBC Maida Vale, London Producer: Terry Henebery ?Lend Me Your Comb? was on the fourth Carl Perkins single released in the UK in April 1958. It was a staple of The Beatles? act for several years before they made their BBC recording. John and Paul replicate the harmony singing of Carl and his brother Jay heard on the original. This track was first released in 1995 on The Beatles? Anthology 1. 27.Devil In Her Heart (Drapkin) Pop Go The Beatles Trans: 24 September 1963 Rec: 3 September 1963 Studio Two, Aeolian Hall, London Producer: Ian Grant This is the second BBC performance of ?Devil In Her Heart?. The first version, recorded on 20 August 1963, was released on the Baby It's You EP in 1995. ?Devil In His Heart? was the B-side of ?Bad Boy? - the only record made by four Detroit school girls called The Donays. Their American single on Brent was picked up by the British label Oriole for release in September 1962. 22.Honey Don?t (Perkins) Top Gear Trans: 26 November 1964 Rec: 17 November 1964 BBC Playhouse Theatre, London Producer: Bernie Andrews The B-side of Carl Perkins? Top Ten UK hit ?Blue Suede Shoes?, ?Honey Don?t? was a Beatles stage favourite for several years before it appeared on their fourth album. John sings on an earlier BBC recording that was released on the first Live At The BBC album. At the final session for Beatles For Sale in October 1964, he generously gave ?Honey Don?t? to Ringo for his featured vocal on the LP. From then on, it was exclusively Ringo?s number. 23.I?ll Follow The Sun (Lennon-McCartney) Top Gear Trans: 26 November 1964 Rec: 17 November 1964 BBC Playhouse Theatre, London Producer: Bernie Andrews This early song of Paul's was at least four years old by the time it was revisited for Beatles For Sale. It was featured, along with three others from that album, during their second appearance on the late-night show Top Gear presented by Brian Matthew. This BBC recording was first issued in 1995 on the hit EP Baby It?s You. So that answers the question if songs from the Baby It's You EP from '95 will appear on any of the remastered / re-released BBC cd's. It's included on On Air; Boy's and I'll Follow the Sun. And one repeat from Anthology 1.
