Have you ever met/spoken to a Beatle?
-
I would have loved to meet The Beatles years ago but never got the opportunity. I often wonder what I would have said if I had gotten the chance. It seems like everything would have been said before by thousands of fans over the years. I'm very curious....have you ever met/spoken to a Beatle and if so, what did you say? Or were you too nervous to even speak? This has got to be a very elite club so congratulations if you've made it! Best of luck to all those going to Paul concerts in the near future. Perhaps your moment has finally arrived.

No, I have never met any of The Beatles. Only in my dreams.
-
Alas, no. The closest I've come is that my older brother knows Laurence Juber.

The closest I will ever get is my time inside Studio 2. And being ten metres away from Paul in 1993 at a concert at the MCG. Close, but no cigar!

I met have met Paul twice. The first time was before the Christmas SNL last year but Froze when he said hello. The second time was in February and I had 15 second chat with him and shook his hand. Ridiculously nice guy given the attention he must get.

I was waiting outside crate and barrel on Madison and a woman came out of Ralph Lauren hq next door and said Paul McCartney is coming out. I had actually just bought New on LP so asked him to sign and he said I'm sorry I don't really do that anymore. I said that's fine and proceeded to tell him my wife and I had recently got married and My Valentine was our first dance. He said that's great and stuck his hand out to shake mine and said he appreciated it. As I walked away he shouted to give his best to my wife.

I remember reading this story--great story. I work in NYC and know where that Crate & Barrel is--my wife used to work right there...I hope to cross paths with him sometime somewhere in the city Sounds like a nice guy in real life. I've met a lot of celebrities over the years but never him or any of the other Beatles.

I was shaking. My parents and sister were visiting from the UK and my Dad and I were waiting for the others outside. My dad managed to take two blurry pictures. Still, I'll never forget it! I live 5 streets from him so I've seen him Without speaking to him a few times

I used to pick up and drop off my wife (gf at the time) right by that Crate & Barrel all the time--wish I'd seen Paul back then, but so such luck. Sounds like you've been very lucky in terms of meeting Paul! That's great! Are you going to the Albany show?
-
I am. It's my birthday the next day so my wife and I are planning a weekend. You? Where about in Jersey are you from? Are you going to Ringo in Red Bank?
-
I'll send you a PM as I took this a bit off topic.

I too remember the story and it's a damn good one. Cheers!

This is the closest I have come and since I don't think I'll ever actually get to meet Paul or Ringo I am happy with this since it is closer then others have gotten I suppose! http://www.paulmccartney.com/news-blogs/news/27745-you-gave-me-the-answer-adam-from-the-usa-asks

What a great story, Andy! You are a member of a very rare club indeed. Hardly anyone here has had an experience such as you've described. I don't know what I'd do if I met Paul. I fear I'd act something like Chris Farley from the SNL skit. http://videosift.com/video/Paul-McCartney-on-the-Chris-Farley-Show And after watching this clip I see that I got the answer to my question of what did Paul mean by "the love you take is equal to the love you make". It's as someone here said to me...he meant "the more you give, the more you get".

I got to say 'hello' to Paul at the Take It Away video shoot and he kind of grinned and nodded as he passed by. I also got a big smile from Barbara, Ringo's wife....or wife to be anyway.

I met Paul at the "High In The Clouds" booksigning, and the Tour DVD and "Ecce Cor Meum" CD signing. He drew a cartoon of me on the back of the DVD label. Also, talked to Paul on the Rockline Radio Show. I talked to George Harrison on the Rockline Radio Show also. I was on hold, and would have been one of the next callers the last time Riingo was on Rockline, but the show ran out of time. Would have been cool to say I talked to all three on the show. Podgie (Amazing when I look back!) Monkey

Podgie, were you the one who said to George that you like "Cloud Nine" "quite a bit"? He replied, "Get off the line if you don't love it!" Never been closer to Paul than sitting in the arena myself. I talked to two guys from R.E.M. once; that was my big moment.

Nope, that wasn't me. It was the Japan concert DVD. I told him that I had heard that his son, Dhani was seen up on stage with him when he performed the encore "Roll Over Beethoven". I asked if he was teaching him guitar and is he (Dhani) into his (George's) music? He seemed surprised by the question. He said he wanted Dhani to experience the excitement. He said he wanted Dhani to learn properly and had a teacher for him. He mentioned Dhani wanting help learning "Sultans Of Swing". He said Dhani was with the son of the guy from Genesis Publications at the shows. I was very nervous talking, I can hear it in my voice. It was my first actual interaction with a Beatle. I wasn't at all nervous talking to Paul, or when I met him. I also met Ringo at his "Ringorama" Cd signing in New York. Paul I asked if there would be any soundcheck songs on the Tour DVD. He talked about extras on the secret site. Podgie (memories) Monkey

I did say to George that when he tours I hope that he will come to New England. He said, "When I tour I'll have to go everywhere" Sadly, he never toured again. Podgie (remembering the conversation) Monkey
