Have you ever met/spoken to a Beatle?

I believe that story Scarlett, I really do, I was there at that nudist colony where Katheryn was naked and met George. I was the guy that could carry a dozen doughnuts AND two Cokes at the same time!!
It wasn't a nudist colony. We were hippies camping in a national forest. There were rich folks homes bordering the area and rumors of various celebrities either owning there or renting there. I actually didn't care about the celebs. all the water in the place was contaminated with elk poo so we couldn't go swimming anywhere. that was merely it. being hippies....why do you think we were being asked if we had weed to share?

Thanks for the additional info. Just out of curiosity what country was this in (I'm asuming it must have been England though I'm not sure they have elk there) What year? I have no reason to disbelieve you now that you've provided us some more color Any more conversation (or ;)) take place or did they walk away after that?

NO more conversation. I walked away believe it or not. I had a 5 mile hike. It was in the US out West.

So, in a way, Kathryn owes her George encounter to elk poo. If there had not been elk poo in the other bodies of water she and her friends stumbled upon, she never would have hopped that fence in search of poo-less water. Great story, Kathryn. Thanks for sharing.

I have to know Kathryn--did you hike the 5 miles naked??

Closest I've gotten to a Beatle was meeting Julian Lennon a while back.

Nope never did get to meet a Beatle at least not yet. BUT I did meet one of George's close friends Shyamasundar. Got some questions answered personally from him about George.

So what nice things did he have to say about George that you are able to share on this forum? I feel like I know George the least of all the Beatles.

I met and spoke to a Beatle--Pete Best!

There's probably a better thread for this, but I did speak to James McCartney when he played in my hometown last spring. He was exquisitely shy and nice, very unassuming. I felt badly for him when the clod in line behind me insisted on asking him about his father. The guy kept saying, "You know, your dad, Paul, when did you last see him?" Poor James just looked at him. James is indeed musically gifted like his dad. I liked his few brief anecdotes about his mom the best, though.

Shaymsundar said that George was always a spiritual person even up until he passed away. Devotees of Krishna were with him as he was passing away and they chanted the Hare Krishna mantra to him so George went back to the spiritual world I believe. That's why I always loved George he was very spiritual. Take a look at George's song My Sweet Lord it says it all right there and even The Art of Dying, Mystical One all these song show George's spiritual side.

A regular customer of mine told me that back in the late 60s, she called Apple collect and asked to speak to Paul McCartney. When she heard a familiar voice say, "Paul here," she freaked out and hung up. She's has over 4 decades to regret this.

Women back in those days were very hyper about the Beatles anybody would freak out if they ever got to speak to a Beatle let alone meet one. Don't know what my reaction would be if I spoke to Paul over the phone lol.

Speaking of whacky collect phone calls, my buddy and I in high school on a pay phone got an English operator on the line and tried to place a collect call to the "Albert Hall" (we may have thought it was in Blackburn, Lancashire) since we'd heard of it in the song A Day in the Life. We didn't know where or what it was and she said she'd never heard of it We didn't know the full name of the place back then but if we'd said the "Royal Albert Hall" we might have had a better chance. Well we tried Never thought of calling Apple Corps. or Abbey Road Studios

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but, I got to meet Ringo back in March! This is my story... http://www.meetthebeatlesforreal.com/2015/04/luis-meets-ringo-starr.html

Perhaps my mind "met" Paul's when/if he read any of my contributions here Gotta feeling he has

Someone once told me I was the reincarnation of George, which is absurd for several reasons. Not the least of which, I was born before he died.
