REAL LOVE Same Video Different Mix in the audio track! In The Beatles 1+
-
Went up to Amoeba in Hollywood today and got 1+ on DVD. They were out of 1+ on Blu-ray(not the single disc version, just 1+). They told me there was a production problem with the Blu-ray. First, the U.S. distributor Universal Music Group did not think the Blu-ray would sell as much as the DVD so they did not make enough. Also, the covers of the two formats are identical, and apparently UMG has mislabeled a bunch of the DVD copies of 1+ with a Blu-ray bar code. They said they are trying to get UMG to correct everything and send them the Blu-ray edition. But if you happen to buy the Blu-ray and get the DVD format instead, this may be the reason.

They're all marked blu ray and I did check the barcode. Hopefully, it's all blu ray. Thanks for the info!! I think the digital dept. for Apple and Universal miss a few items. Let's hope they correct the errors I spotted on two videos (Let It Be and The Long and Winding Road) when Apple decide, finally, to release "Let It Be", the film.

Within where? I'm waiting for the 20th anniversary of The Beatles Anthology.

There are threads inside the film for the digital remastered video of "Let It Be" in The Beatles 1+ on blu ray. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr AND "THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD" And one strand in "HELLO GOODBYE" the outtakes.
They might be brief but are certainly very distracting. So much for restoration.

I'll be so old by then that I'll be as blind as a bat and as deaf as a post, so it won't matter much anyway.

I know, right? Add to that Paul's remasters, The Beatles Tune In books. I know! We all can have this stuff mailed to us in the old peoples home.

Good interviews about the remixed "1" remasters with Giles Martin: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/11/giles-martin-beatles-remasters http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-34766693 "If I was doing a 5.1 of the White Album, though? Let me at it!"

Agreed! It's a pretty awesome colllection, and the restoration is amazing. Some of those videos look like they were just made! And the live stuff, well...the proof is in the pudding. Fantastic! Can't wait for Ron Howard's film!

Got the DVD. It's OK. Not so impressed with the sound and mixes, I thought they would be enhanced, instead, certain instruments and voices are louder and some inaudible. Which I do not like. For example, on the guitar solo of Day Tripper, I can't even hear the main riff, just the ascending notes George is playing. Paperback Writer's lush harmonies are mixed WAY down, and Paul's bass on Something is almost not there. Not sure what good of any of this is supposed to come. And the videos? Yes, some are clearer and sharper, and Penny Lane looks great! But I would rather have had Strawberry Fields in the same re worked condition than Come Together with animation. And Rain, instead of songs from the Yellow Submarine cartoon. I want to see The Beatles! I give it a C-, and I am an easy grader.

I have not heard any of the complaints you mention. Giles Martin did a fantastic job with the remix. Check your settings. Also, Rain is on the second DVD on 1+, as well as Strawberry Fields and a ton more. The first DVD is the 27 #1's only. But I'm sure you already know that.

Yes, I'd agree that it's the second disc that has the real treasures, like "Hey Bulldog" and "Revolution," as well as "Rain," which looks fantastic. But yeah, that "Come Together" animation is kind of lame?it was more impressive in 2000. One thing I notice is that George tends to look bored in the videos for Paul's songs, but more excited in John's.

Fair enough. I bought the solo DVD which has one disc with 27 songs. So, I suspect I need to buy the whole package to get the other disc. Had I known that, I would have done that, as I think this DVD is, frankly, a waste of money, as I can go on youtube and see this stuff. Oh well, back to Jessica Jones!

How a fan doesn't know that exist the two DVD one CD package!that's the one to buy!but i went dissapointed with the videos...Can't buy me love with John singing (miming) the lead vocal i went so angry....I just not see that package anymore i just go back to my beloved Pipes of peace deluxe edition!
