Beatles US albums to be released in January

I think to still have an album in today's Billboard 50 years after they started in America is an amazing accomplishment!

It sure is! Justin Bieber will not have anything on Billboard in 50 years!

Forgot to check yesterday, but today the Beatles are blanketing the Amazon top 100 albums. Not going to list every chart position, but: ? All the regular albums from Rubber Soul to Let It Be are there. ? The red and blue compilations, as well as 1. ? The U.S. Albums box, as well as the 2009 stereo box. ? Meet The Beatles! and Hey Jude, too. On iTunes, there's 1 (at #13), plus Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper, the blue album, the White album, Meet The Beatles!, Rubber Soul, and the red album, all in their top 200. Probably won't see the full impact of this in Billboard till next Thursday, but it should be significant!

Today the new Billboard 200 is out, and the fabs are a significant presence. Next week should be even bigger, since this chart only covers up to the night of the tribute special itself. Here's what's on the chart this week: 1 - 37 Abbey Road - 119 Sgt. Pepper - 132 Rubber Soul - 134 The White album - 159 A Hard Day's Night - 189 LOVE - 191 Meet The Beatles! - 192 Not too shabby!

With all of this going on in the U.S., I am wondering if our U.K. friends are sharing in this at all. Have the U.S. Albums been released over there? Are The Beatles all over the newsstands and radio and TV right now? This is the biggest media blitz I've seen since...well, it's like 1964 all over again!

I'm thinking no, since the Beatles were hugely famous over there in 1963. As for the albums, yes, they are on sale there: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_13/279-4656829-4968341?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=the%20beatles%20us%20albums%20box%20set&sprefix=The+Beatles+U%2Cpopular%2C236

Never updated this last week. I'll do it now before the new numbers come out tomorrow: 1 - 64 Abbey Road - 141 Sgt. Pepper - 183 Pretty much the end of the line for nostalgia impact for the moment, though.

I may do that myself. Haven't bought any of them yet, but I imported the old Capitol CD boxes into my iTunes, listening to them gradually.
