I've only seen Ringo once. Anyone know if there's any opportunity to see him drive into the venue the way Paul does, or to even meet him before or after his gigs? Thanks!
Depends more on the venue. All three times I've seen him, his buses were able to literally drive into the venue's garage, loading dock etc. and let the band out very far from the fans. No limo like Paul with the top down flailing out the window. I waited by the stage door after the 70th Birthday concert with hopes of seeing a certain Mr. McCartney.....instead, I got Rick Derringer and Richard Page. Still a thrill!

Tonight's the night! Still hearing stellar things about this band, ready to do it again!

Just got back from Ringo's show in Westbury Long Island. I can see why he praises this particular band so much...they really were fantastic! If you get a chance, go see them on this tour. You will not be disappointed!
Sounds like you enjoyed it. Any details you would like to share? How was Ringo? His attitude? What songs did he sing?

Agree! This band has been together for several tour stints and they have gotten really tight. I caught the two Vegas shows in November 2013 and could tell how much they all enjoy playing with each other. Could be one factor why Ringo has kept this group together this long.

Really was a great night. Ringo and the band were in a great mood...he even imitated Ed Sullivan at one point! Ringo added a "Hare Krishna" during the sax solo in the middle of "It Don't Come Easy"...as was done on the original take by George! See link:
Here is the set list: 1.Matchbox 2.It Don't Come Easy 3.Wings 4.I Saw the Light (Todd Rundgren) 5.Evil Ways (Willie Bobo) 6.Rosanna (Toto) 7.Kyrie (Mr. Mister) 8.Don't Pass Me By 9.Bang the Drum All Day (Todd Rundgren) 10.Boys 11.Yellow Submarine 12.Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen (Fleetwood Mac) 13.Anthem 14.Honey Don't 15.You Are Mine (Richard Page) 16.Africa (Toto) 17.Oye como va (Tito Puente) 18.I Wanna Be Your Man 19.Love Is the Answer (Utopia) 20.Broken Wings (Mr. Mister) 21.Hold the Line (Toto) 22.Photograph 23.Act Naturally 24.With a Little Help from My Friends 25.Give Peace a Chance -
Awww he's not doing "Never Without You" this time? But I liked that one! He sang that one so nice when I saw him in 2010 in Cleveland Ohio. I held up my sign to him then when he did that song for George.

I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. This band just seems to have so much fun up there. Don't forget to give us a review...

We have tix to see Ringo in Tunica, MS on July 3rd. Just bought tix to see him again in Biloxi, MS on 10/17. The plan is to see Paul in New Orleans on 10/11 and stay in the area for a vacation and then see Ringo on the 17th. Sweet.

Sounds great...you get to see 2 Beatles in 1 week! I had tickets for the New Orleans concert as well, however with the postponement to October, I made arrangements to see Paul's opener in Albany instead. Have a great time at the shows!!

Okay, here's my detailed review First, let me say that Wolf Trap as a venue was AWFUL. I've been there before, but I believe management has changed from 2013 to 2014 and I was utterly disgusted with every aspect of this place and will not be returning anytime in the foreseeable future. The concert on the other hand, was spectacular! Ringo sounded good overall. His drumming is better than ever. He seemed a little cranky in the beginning. He was heckling some latecomers and just being a little cynical in general. However, several times throughout the night he totally forgot where he was in the show. I find this to be a little scary, as he's always on top of what's up next. But almost every time he sang a song, he had to ask a band mate what was next or stumbled getting it out. His voice was good for Ringo, but there were a couple flubs. He forgot a good chunk of the words on "Wings" and sounded very off-key on "Anthem" and "I Wanna Be Your Man". Just not quite like him....but as the show went on, his personality warmed up and he was good ole joking Ringo. Todd Rundgren is definitely my favorite member of this band. His energy adds SO much to the stage presence of this ensemble. He's the only one that really works the stage. He goes center, side, wings, front, back, everywhere...and skips, hops, and dances his way there every time! His voice was in great form, as was his playing, and showmanship. No complaints at all. Gregg Rolie's voice sounds like it froze in 1969, he sounds just like the record and it's great. He makes the B3 sound so relevant on so many tracks you'd never expect it to be. It was nice to hear "Oye Como Va" this time. I like when repeat all-starrs shake up their songs. It's worth noting, that Mr. Rolie looks like he's lost quite a bit of weight since 2012. I hope he's in good health. Richard Page is so beyond overdone for me. Yes, he's got a great voice but, I've heard his songs three times now, and I didn't like them that much the first time. He's a very stale performer with little showmanship. The only time he moves is when Todd engages with him, and then he looks very awkward. Steve Lukather seems to be the musical mastermind of the band. His guitar playing is so underrated. This man is spectacular and deserves serious attention. He brings every song to life and makes these greatest hits of the 60's-80's, sound like relevant musical expressions of 2014. So what's next for Ringo? This band will tour throughout the summer, and again in the fall. Ringo was constantly saying all night how much he loves this lineup and doesn't want it to end, but I hope he doesn't overdo it. Gregg Bissionette is a drumming monster and should definitely stick around. But Richard Page's time has passed. Gregg Rolie could probably be let go as well. Steve Lukather and Todd Rundgren should definitely stick around one more time. Mark Rivera's replacement (Warren Ham) was easily forgettable and didn't seem to gell like the rest. Hopefully Mark can work dates out with Billy Joel, and get back in the fall.

Saw them in RI last night and it was the same show as 2 years ago in Boston, but that is not a bad thing! The band was incredible and I almost have to say that the Santana songs with Rolie singing and Lukather on guitar, stole the show. I was close enough to see the smiles on the musicians as they watched each other play during some of the extended jams. What a talented bunch this is. GO TO THIS SHOW!

Thanks for the reviews, they are getting me pumped for Ringo's Albuquerque show in July! Keep 'em coming!

I saw the show Monday night in Providence...what a blast! I wrote it up on my site (including loads of pictures I took): http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/06/ringo-starr-and-his-all-starr-band-live.html A ton of fun!

Wow sounds like Ringo got a good review....Last time I saw Ringo was July 2010. I wouldn't mind seeing Ringo again since you guys say he put on a fabulous show.
-
He certainly did, and he band is great, too!

I'm going to see Ringo in October. I love Todd Rundgren, so that is a plus. I've seen him with Ringo before. I've seen Ringo be a tad cranky at shows. You never know with him.

I've seen a number of Ringo's shows over the years and only remember him getting cranky once.....that was with John Entwistle, who was playing too loud on stage, it was quite funny now that I think about it.
