Where is Nancy?
She was in the states for a Barbara Walters retirement thing...but I would hope she's out there with him now.
Thankyou. That makes sense. They are related yes?

Yes, cousins I believe.

I believe he will be well very soon.
Yeah. Plus he's far away from home so possible once he gets back to his comfort zone, rests up, he'll get feeling better. Paul's human and it's only a bug. For all we know he could of just got good poisoning or something who knows. I hope he gets better soon!
Well we are being told it's a "virus." Who knows? It could be anything.
Exactly.
Reuters news agency is calling it a "worsening viral infection" which requires "complete rest." http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/sns-rt-us-paulmccartney-concert-japan-20140519,0,7291782.story

I'm not liking this. Hope he gets better soon.

Perhaps he just lost his voice, that's all.

I think the writer has the same press release information we do. I dont think this story has any new information. The writer concludes it worsening because more shows were cancled. Hope it ls not anything more than a common stomach virus. I would venture to guess he is still hoping to play South Korea based on the fact it wasnt mentioned and it is more than a week away

Beatles Examiner is reporting an announcement will be made that the Seoul show is postponed. Not good at all as this means the anticipated time to bring stability to his condition and then recover will run past May 28. If I was him and his resources where travel is concerned, I would certainly want to fly back home as there is no place like home when one is ill. That said, a long trip might be ill-advised. Other side of the world from the UK is the worst possible place to come down with something, here's a prayer for a speedy recovery.

These few days have snowballed into a lot of speculation. I can't believe(rather I can) that The Chicago Tribune is leading their story with "Ailing" and mentions his health as "Worsening." I think the official press statements are the best to be taken as the facts. But, I think newspapers like the Tribune are just going to cause a bit of unnecessary worry for many fans.

I think the LACK of info is what makes people speculate.

I agree, his condition may not be worsening at all but the doctors may have said that without complete rest until (date unknown to us) it WILL worsen and therein lies a big incentive to come to a screeching halt.

I think that also cancelling Seoul is a very smart move--whether or not Paul actually needs the recovery time. This way the entire Asian leg can be rescheduled as a whole--no one will be offended that he played Korea but not Japan, etc. etc. This will give him almost a month of recovery time since he won't have any tour stops until Lubbock on June 14. I don't think the info is lacking at all. The statements have been clear as to why the weekend shows had been cancelled, why the rest of Japan shows had to be cancelled, and how Paul has felt about having to not perform in these shows. Discussing about the tour changes itself seems more to the point along with the well wishes we're all sending for a quick recovery.

He's trending #1 on Yahoo's page right now and all the news wires have picked up the story.

I think what little has come out about whatever is ailing Paul has been very vague & generic. His team has to protect him so they don't give many details. Is Nancy there yet? No one has said anything about her. Again...not much info.

Have to agree while we as fans dont have to know the inns and outs of his illness surely the best way to stop stories getting started is to put abit of meat onto the statement,i.e. he's got a very bad stomach flu, sore throat, more than likely stops any wildfire getting out of hand. The fact that this story about a man cancelling a tour has and is gaining traction shows the interest there is in Paul, again i say we have no right to know the full story but give more than generic details,it stops us fans getting to worried about him.

The information is about what I would have expected. Medical issues are protected information and can only be disclosed with the consent of the party involved (or their family if not able to make that decision). They actually have been more forthcoming than most medical statements I tend to see. I know alot of fans won't like this but none of us fans have a right to know anything about his health. That is only for McCartney to disseminate as he feels appropriate. What we can surmise is that whatever the virus is, it is likely not life threatening, but is also serious enough that the doctors have ordered extended bed rest. It's also serious enough that for the first time in his career he has cancelled more than 1 show in a leg. Viruses can take a long time to recover from sometimes. They can really sap your energy. Informational voids are what tabloids love. If this continues, all of you might want to avert your eyes from the ones that you see as you leave the grocery store as they will start cranking up "last days' stories. Shameful.

Since the Japan tour has been cancelled, wouldn't it make sense that he be allowed to fly home to recuperate? Or maybe he is to ill to travel? I just hope that we hear some good reports and he gets better soon.

Since he's recovering, it's probably not a good idea for him to travel at this point.
