Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors

I predict the US tour is set and there will be no more dates. Just a hunch, no secret info!

I hope you're right, not to sound selfish (which I know this does) but I just purchased tickets for Jacksonville (about a 5-hour drive for me) because there were no closer to shows. If he were to add one to say Fort Lauderdale, which is where I live, I'd have to admit I would be a little annoyed. I kind of wish he would announce all dates at once for this very reason. Realizing that's not always practical but it would make it much easier for people to plan.

Actually, announcing all the dates at once is very practical and is how almost every other artist does it. This one date at a time nonsense is for the birds.

Yes very true. Has he ever said why he does it this way? If memory serves, he did it last summer in a fairly similar way (though not as spread out between announcements as this time). But I remember I was contemplating getting tickets for Boston when a few days later he announced DC. Very glad I waited the extra couple days!

He has never said, though I suspect it is because he is who he is and can do it however he wants. Clearly he wants it this way. Maybe for personal reasons such as custody of his daughter, and maybe even to play when he wants to, versus committing to a two year world tour.

I find it to be extremely disrespectful. He's done it this way since '09. I bought tickets for NYC, then shortly after he announced the DC show. And you see what I ended up doing....

I also find it very disrespectful to the fans. I held out for a date where I could drive because my mother was dying and has since passed away. I knew I could only do one show and I didn't want to complicate things with air fare, etc. I did buy ticket insurance and didn't do any nonrefundable hotel nights. I could have canceled those.

McCartney said in RS that his priority is casual fans and firs time concert goers. So, he is not even thinking about people traveling or coming from far away. He is focused on local people who will buy the ticket there. Which is one of many reasons I won't travel to see a concert anymore. Too much can go wrong, and announcing concerts like this, you may buy a ticket for one market only to watch a concert be announced much closer at a later date. I'll sit back and enjoy the games! And save loads of money.
-
yes, I agree very annoying and disrespectful to us. announce the dates at the start of the tour and sale dates and be done with it. fans who want to see multiple shows and travel will do so regardless.
-
If I had chosen to attend the original Lubbock date, I could have driven from Albuquerque to Lubbock that Sat. morning and then driven back the next day, a Sunday, without missing a day of work. Since the date had to be rescheduled, I would have to miss a Thursday and a Friday at work to see that show. Ain't gonna happen! Again, the target audience are local people in those markets he is playing. Buyer beware! Ha ha!

I always save vacation days to travel to see Paul. The man will not be touring forever so I want to see him as much as money permits while he's still around. Being poor and from a third world country my options are limited but the efforts were always worthwhile.

I can respect that. I save my vacation days to travel with my family. I understand though. His concerts are fun. But eight times is enough for me! I can't justify losing two days vacation for a concert, though some might argue going to a concert IS a vacation! Ha ha!

Before my kids were raised, I saw him one time. Since my kids are raised and I'm not married any more, I've seen him 9 times since 2002! If I still had kids to raise I wouldn't have the money.

you've seen a lot, and it sounds like some really good concerts! He might not tour forever but I think and hope we have a few good years with similar tours as he's been doing, and then when he winds down some years with just a few shows! Enjoy him while you can! I was talking to one of the girls who works all the sound checks and she was complimenting the South America fans!

Oh yes, we are the best and very humble as well! I've seen Paul 14 times so far and I've enjoyed every minute of it. All 14 were in South America so I hope to be able to see him at least once in Europe or the US. Perhaps next year if he's stil touring! The concerts I enjoy the most are in Brazil. Standing admission and as soon as Paul hits the stage, one hell of a party begins!

Me too. I never travel somewhere JUST to see a concert. I'll pick the time and place to travel, and if something good comes up while I'm there, I'll go. If he announces a NYC area date, I won't get tickets, because if he then announced for Philly (near me), I'd be pretty steamed.

As for me, I would travel even to the Moon "just" to see Paul and His Band. I wish I could afford to travel to the US now, but I have to wait for EU/UK shows. I've travelled all over Europe to see his show and would travel more if I could afford it 'cos this is my biggest passion.

Cool. I have lost the passion to travel for concerts. I used to all the time, I saw McCartney three times in Denver, once in Las Vegas, once in Las Cruces, NM. But his ignoring of New Mexico has pretty much killed it for me. Having said that, I know there are folks like you who love travelling to various shows around the globe. That can be fun!

UK/Europe doesn't seem to be out of the picture as of yet, still way too early to tell for sure.

And is fun, I love going somewhere new!! Especially over seas I always check to see where I'd like to travel as a destination and combine the trip with the show and sight seeing
