I'd like to see Ringo appear with Paul, as well as a couple of songs from The Beatles' '66 Candlestick set performed.
I think the greater chance of another Paul/Ringo appearance is the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction of Brian, or the Grammy program honoring The Beatles. Candlestick Park to me isn't likely as Ringo didn't show up for the last play at Shea with Paul. Even though it wasn't Paul's concert, the historical significance was there.
Was Ringo invited to the CitiField thing, though?
No idea. Has Ringo ever played with Paul at a solo Paul concert? He's been at shows, but never played with Paul right? Or am I wrong?
I think Ringo joined Paul on stage for Earth Day '93, but I don't think they performed anything.
Ringo did sing along with Paul during the Earth Day show encore (I was there, it was very cool) so I think it counts as performing, even briefly...

He meant why wasn't the entire concert Paul's? Answer: he was busy in England and barely made it to the show on time as it was.
Yeah, but he could have changed plans.
Yeah...I don't know how early the concert was announced but surely something that historic COULD have been arranged.

I think Ringo joined Paul on stage for Earth Day '93, but I don't think they performed anything. But, you're right: Nothing, in terms of a solo concert.
Paul and Ringo have been onstage together... 1976- Closing night of Wings Over America Tour Ringo came on stage. 1993- Earth Day Concert at Hollywood Bowl...Ringo came on stage. 2001- Concert For George...First time performing for an audience the rooftop! 2009- David Lynch Benefit...Performed together 2010- Ringo's 70th Birthday...Performed together ...I'm really hoping that they somehow play together to mark the 50th Ann. of The Beatles coming to America. This Candlestick Park event would be very nice too. But as Wallie said...Shea Stadium was a missed oppourtunity. Any reason why Paul didn't close the whole thing? I feel like Billy Joel was the second choice.
Yes, they've been onstage together, which is cool, but my original question was whether Ringo had played with Paul at one of Paul's solo shows. I think the answer to that question is no, unless I'm mistaken.

The answer is no. But he has come very, very, very...close.

I've been checking for new concert announcements 5 times a day now since I saw him in Vienna, can't wait to see Paul again! Do you guys think it's possible we'll get some new concert announcements after New Year?

I'd guess near the end of January maybe some announcements. That's a complete shot in the dark with absolutely no proof behind it.

Merry Xmas, everyone. May the New Year bring a concert somewhere close to you.

Has anyone heard strong rumours of where Paul McCartney will be touring in 2014?

French paper called "Le Point" announced yesterday a gig at the Stade de France but without precising any date. En 2014 à Paris au Stade de France sont prévus Paul McCartney et les Rolling Stones. Un demi-siècle plus tard rien n'a changé. Sauf le prix des places.... To be honest, I have to say that another French paper announced the same 1 year ago for 2013 ...

Only strong rumors that I have heard are from the man's own mouth. An interview in October he said that Germany and Europe in 2014 and that although he usually likes to end the year in the UK with some shows that they would probably be in 2014 as well. Supposedly Ringo and Paul will be at the Grammy tribute as well wih Yoko and Olivia

I suspect the 2014 dates will happen in some form. Still, I have learned not to get ANY hopes up until dates are officially announced. For all we know, Paul will take a break from the stage in 2014 and work on a rap album!

good stance to take....not worth driving yourself crazy on the rumors.

although one thing struck me funny......someone saying a "proper" Europe tour. Just by saying that, you haven't been paying attention the last 5 years. The days of "proper" world tours are over for our Macca. We're down to about 25-40 shows over the course of a whole year. Don't see any change in that coming. Actually 40 would be a high number...more apt to be in the 30's. Probably no more than 10 European shows, and that would be a very good number. I'd count Japan out in 2014 and by passing up Australia in 2013, could seal their fate as well. (Hopefully not as he hasn't been there in so long). If the model of his touring continues, the bulk of the shows will be North America and South America

Bob, Hope you're right about the U.S in 2014. It just makes sense with the 50th Anniversary coming to America for the 1st time. This time I would travel a good distance to see Macca. I'm retired and split my time between NJ (near Philly) and Florida (near Tampa). If he doesn't hit either metropolitan area, I will travel to the City that is closest. Just hearing the NEW songs live would be worth it. I know I'm dreaming but I would love to see Paul and the Band play about 7-8 songs from the Album.
-
I think with the new album, he'll still do those songs this time around. He always does a NY area show....wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Philly either...love the Philly shows. I'm in Jersey too so a lot of shows on northeast are pretty easy to get to. Wouldn't be surprised for him to drop in a new song for the 50 year anniversary. Time will tell for sure
-
I've been thinking Philly for next year...he repeated a lot of cities from 2009 in 2013...so it could seem logical that big cities he visited in 2010 would resurface in 2014.
