Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
-
Bob Gannon:
Only strong rumors that I have heard are from the man's own mouth. An interview in October he said that Germany and Europe in 2014 and that although he usually likes to end the year in the UK with some shows that they would probably be in 2014 as well. Supposedly Ringo and Paul will be at the Grammy tribute as well wih Yoko and Olivia
I suspect the 2014 dates will happen in some form. Still, I have learned not to get ANY hopes up until dates are officially announced. For all we know, Paul will take a break from the stage in 2014 and work on a rap album!

good stance to take....not worth driving yourself crazy on the rumors.

although one thing struck me funny......someone saying a "proper" Europe tour. Just by saying that, you haven't been paying attention the last 5 years. The days of "proper" world tours are over for our Macca. We're down to about 25-40 shows over the course of a whole year. Don't see any change in that coming. Actually 40 would be a high number...more apt to be in the 30's. Probably no more than 10 European shows, and that would be a very good number. I'd count Japan out in 2014 and by passing up Australia in 2013, could seal their fate as well. (Hopefully not as he hasn't been there in so long). If the model of his touring continues, the bulk of the shows will be North America and South America

Bob, Hope you're right about the U.S in 2014. It just makes sense with the 50th Anniversary coming to America for the 1st time. This time I would travel a good distance to see Macca. I'm retired and split my time between NJ (near Philly) and Florida (near Tampa). If he doesn't hit either metropolitan area, I will travel to the City that is closest. Just hearing the NEW songs live would be worth it. I know I'm dreaming but I would love to see Paul and the Band play about 7-8 songs from the Album.
-
I think with the new album, he'll still do those songs this time around. He always does a NY area show....wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Philly either...love the Philly shows. I'm in Jersey too so a lot of shows on northeast are pretty easy to get to. Wouldn't be surprised for him to drop in a new song for the 50 year anniversary. Time will tell for sure
-
I've been thinking Philly for next year...he repeated a lot of cities from 2009 in 2013...so it could seem logical that big cities he visited in 2010 would resurface in 2014.

The answer is no. But he has come very, very, very...close.

Yet another Candlestick report. The talks are so top secret that the news is aware of them. http://www.hollywood.com/news/brief/56727552/paul-mccartney-in-talks-to-perform-final-show-at-candlestick-park?fb_action_ids=10151788444655887&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%5B744608715568310%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22og.likes%22%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D

I wonder if Paul will consider playing at Pinkpop Festival this year... (Pink is short for Pinksteren, which means Whitsun; this festival is around that time each year) What do Dutch fans think?

I've wondered about that a few times. Cool fest, and many of the biggest artists have played it. Part of me would also like to see Paul play the '80s Rewind Festival, but I know there's no way in hell he'd ever do that. A total guilty pleasure for me. However, if he did, I'd expect him to blow the dust off of neglected, big hits like "No More Lonely Nights,"Take It Away" and "Once Upon A Long Ago."

Really hoping this works out since I won't have to travel far at all to see this, but I have a feeling tickets will be even harder to get for this show.

I've got butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the possibility of being able to see him again since 2010. Candlestick Park may be a rat hole, but if Paul is there, it will be a beautiful place.

Agreed! It will be a cold show too, even if it's in the summer, but it will be worth it!

Would not be surprised to see several California shows. Those cities have been lost lately
-
The Southwest and Rocky Mountains USA were completely ignored on the 2013 tour. I hope that is corrected in 2014!

Actually it seems like he kind of alternates east and west coast of the US every other year or so...This past summer seemed more so 'east coast' orientated, although he did get out west for a couple of shows...So I'm betting his next swing through the states will place a greater emphasis on the west coast

If he really wants to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' arrival in the US, he should consider opening his next US tour with "I Want To Hold Your Hand". The emotional impact would be huge, even greater than "Please Please Me" in 2005.

While I was truly blown away by his new selections in 2013, I am convinced that Paul simply doesn't care about anniversaries. There was so much potential to honor 50 years since PPM/WTB etc...

I'm confused, why is that not good news for Nancy? You mean their wedding anniversary? Nah, that's probably why he made it John's birthday so he wouldn't forget! (and I know, you were jk!)
