Looking to go see The Beach Boys and Joe Jackson
-
I've only recently got into the whole concert thing because of my social difficulties. I've seen: - Muse (2007 - Wembley) - Ladyhawke (2011 - 100 Club... beautifully intimate) - Paul McCartney (2011 - The O2) - Paul McCartney (2012 - Royal Albert Hall... best venue I've seen) Going to see this summer: - Elvis Costello (RAH again) - Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons (RAH again) - Queen + Adam Lambert (HMV Apollo) And of course I'll try my best to attend every London date Paul does until... well... he's gone. Hopefully another this year.

Bob Marley was practically carried out onstage by his backup singers the I-Threes. They stood him up in front of the mic. He was smoking a huge spliff and blew a giant cloud of smoke over the audience. Then he shouted some words about Jah and Rasta and the band kicked into Positive Vibration. It was the Survival Tour of 1979 and it was fantastic! There were some Jamaican students sitting behind us, dreadlocks and all, and they shared their ganja with us. A video of this tour called Bob Marley - The Legend Live was recorded two nights later in Santa Barbara. As for Yoko I'm pretty sure it was a charity event, and I was too young to appreciate her music. But I remember thinking if she was there it must be an important cause. I also remember thinking I saw John playing guitar standing at the back of the band, but not doing any singing.

I'm a bit jealous.

I saw Willie Nelson last week while on holiday, at 79 he was great! I thought the show was a blast, I was surprised to see he did all the guitar work, no other guitarists on stage. He sounded better through each song, he still knows how to write classics too, one of his latest 'Roll me up' got the biggest reception of all.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing him once! He's come around twice since I've been concert-going, and I've never gotten tickets...but both shows got rained out anyway!
-
And contrary to my previous post...I think I've given up on Rush in Philly this fall...I'm too busy trying to plot out Paul's plans...and figuring out when/where to see The Who's Quadrophenia Tour.
-
I need to start going to more concerts! Elvis Costello & The Imposters Foster The People The Beach Boys Hopefully I'll score this fall, and maybe the girlfriend just might want to tag along this time!
-
