When I saw you in Albany I thought you said you weren't going to Pittsburgh. Did you change your mind, or did I miss seeing you again in Pitt?
-
No, I did not go to Pittsburgh, but I thought folks would like to read a local review I found online. I see Pittsburgh had a good soundcheck set list plus a bit of Yellow Sub in the show, so it's great you were able to make it there! )

THESE ARE FANTASTIC! How far away were you from the stage?

We lived to tell the tale of Macca-Travels #7! It looks like there has been great discussion going on here already. I'll save my setlist comments for the setlist thread but in short: I think it was definitely a great set for a city he just plyaed four years ago. Must consider that this is the same tour as 2013, AND a new album has been released. Limo watch was great fun! It was about forty of us, and of course it rained. Yet we trooped on! We got there about 4:15, and Paul got there about 6:15. I took a photo of the back of Brian Riddle's jacket as I found it very interesting, it was a Crew Tour Jacket for the cancelled Japan tour. That'll be quite a collectible! Paul slowed down and waved for us, and it was amazing as always! I didn't take any photos or video. I've got plenty of both, and I just wanted to umm....."drink it all in" The doors opened late at 7:20 and Paul took the stage late at 8:37, which is actually pretty good for him. Overall, Paul sounded fantastic and the band played well as always- no serious musical complaints (not that there ever is). However, I do feel it is worth noting that I thought Paul seemed vocally unprepared. From Eight Days a Week through Paperback Writer, he cancelled had minor vocal blips, or would shorten phrases etc. As I said, it didn't last, but I found it noticeable. He also seems to have lost weight. "Maybe I'm Amazed" was remarkable! I was worried for that one, but was very pleasantly surprised. However, I fear the year will soon be approaching where that one gets the permanent axe. "Yellow Submarine" was great fun! I wasn't expecting it all....I thought we'd get "Birthday" in the encores. The New songs were all very well received. "Save Us" definitely got the most love, but I think that has more to do with song placement. The only time I noticed lots of movement from the crowd to concessions, was during "My Valentine"....the same thing happened last year.... And yes, I am still tired of most of his stories. But I do appreciate that he has finally started acknowledging the fact that he repeats himself. He often started stories with "I know some of you have seen the show before but...." so that was cute. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm picking him apart! Just trying to do an honest review for members here....don't get me wrong, he gets better every single time. It's truly remarkable, and I hope and pray we have many years of this left. I can't imagine my summer without Paul. We all know the feeling. He's part of us, he's helped make us who we are and it's the biggest thrill and a truly spiritual experience to partake in these events with him. See ya next Time!

I agree! Also I believe he performed 16 different songs from 2010, when he was last in Pittsburgh. I think that is pretty good for both newcomers and those who were seeing for a 2nd time. Only the "New" songs were added from DC..But it is the same tour so I wasn't expecting much added. Yellow Submarine was very fun!!

Kind of odd review with a couple strange factual errors that totally ignored the new songs he played, but still positive. This is from a pretty lame (not to mention screechingly right-wing) paper, so maybe one shouldn't expect too much depth. http://triblive.com/aande/music/6391074-74/paul-center-consol#axzz36wFMNd00

"McCartney threw in a few of his hits from his time with Wings, including ?Band on the Run? and ?Listen to What the Man Said.? He skipped most of his best-known solo songs from the ?70s and ?80s ? like ?Let ?Em In? and ?No More Lonely Nights? ? and they would have been a welcome addition to the set, long as it was already." I love how they talked about No More Lonely Nights and how about it should have been added.

So we were upgraded at the show because my son was dressed as John Lennon. Someone from Paul's group found us and gave us seats 15 rows back on the floor compliments of Paul. How cool is that!

How true that is!

The funny thing, the only McCartney solo songs I hear on the radio these days are This One, No More Lonely Nights and My Brave Face, you know, from the period Paul refuses to acknowledge. I really think those would get a better recepetion than many of the obscure Beatles songs he insists on playing.

What an amazing show! Best I've seen in 12 years! I've been living off such a high for the past few weeks in anticipation, that the PPD (Post Paul Depression) has kicked in.
-
I saw Ringo twice and Paul all within a 13 day period...They would all fall within my top five favorite concerts! Now I have hit that depression! I need more!! Haha! Maybe I can talk one of my buddies into heading for one of the October shows!

I hear ya! Trying to talk my hubby into another show.. Nothing within close proximity to us tho. Even if something close like Cleveland pops up, don't think we can pull it off financially. Not after spending on the Gold package for Pittsburgh! Plus I never want to be "far away" from the stage ever again! Way too addicting!!

Paul just put up this Pittsburgh video with Happy Birthday message to Ringo http//www.paulmccartney.com/news-blogs/news/new-video-paul-getting-outthere-in-pittsburgh-pennsylvania

You're hooked, it's a hard habit to break (not that you would want to)
