Paul and Ringo at the Grammy's

Note the latest announcements: one just says they will both perform, the other says they will perform together. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/paul-mccartney-ringo-starr-perform-grammys-21526257 http://news.radio.com/2014/01/14/paul-mccartney-and-ringo-starr-to-perform-at-2014-grammy-awards/
I assume they will perform together. To not do so makes little sense.

I'm excited! But trying not to get too excited just yet...so I don't set myself up for disappointment incase it's not as big of a production as it should be.
I'm more nervous than excited...these live things don't always come off too well for Paul, at least.

I recall someone (maybe even here on pm.com in the Not Such A Bad Boy forum - not sure) who suggested that we more devoted fans are far more critical of Paul's appearances that involve an audience that expands beyond his own typical fan base (such as Grammys, Olympic appearance, Hurricane Sandy show, etc) and that he really doesn't come off as bad as we fear to the casual fans...and I tend to think that person was right. We closely view his every move, posture, every wobble in his voice, etc...while most people are just enjoying it for what it is and are probably singing along...LOL

I don't think I'm really critical of Paul...it's more that I care so much about him, that I always wish the best for him. It probably hurts me more than it does Paul, when people are critical of him. I'm accepting of a little voice wobble or whatever...unfortunately, many others aren't. That's why I get nervous about these things.

Many of the TV performances have been questionable for one reason or another. Be it his voice on one note or the studio having sound problems. Remember the feedback at the Apollo?

Yeah, Rich--there are two threads discussing this & we were talking about all the times they've appeared/sang together. I saw a commercial earlier for the Grammy's (the Jan. 26th show) which only listed Paul, not Ringo.
The latest commercial (I first saw it Saturday during the NFL playoff game) lists them both as performers. I can only imagine they'll be together at some point. It's too good of a PR opportunity for them to pass up. Plus, what better way to whet the public's appetite for the Grammy special than for PRINGO (Paul/Ringo) to do something together? Or maybe RAUL?
I prefer PRINGO!
Or instead of 'Threetles' as was dubbed during the Anthology period, 'Tootles'...although I can see the logistical nightmare stemming from that since the term is also used as a casual means of saying 'farewell'...LOL But it's a good name - however at the end of the day, I bet it will 'Paul and Ringo'
Why not the Twotles?

His performance on I Heart Radio was great. And for the most part he sounded great during his NEW promo run (Kimmel, Times Square, etc). But, I assume a Grammy performance would be without his band. Who would fill in? A mix of his band and the All Star Band? Paul and Ringo can't do it alone.

The Grammy Awards has a band. But they may put something surprising together.

Oh that's right. If they do use the grammy band I just hope it doesn't sound like terrible over-orchestrated compositions. I am just imagining the sing and dance numbers on the Oscars.

If I recall, during Paul's last Grammy performance with "My Valentine" and "Golden Slumbers" medley, it went over well for the most part. He had Krall and Walsh with him for Valentine, and had the tour band plus other guests for the medley. My biggest issue was with all the people my own age and younger tweeting and sharing "Who is this guy" and/or "Who is Paul McCartney"? :

Any ideas on what Paul and Ringo may do on the Grammy show? They've been announced to be performers...presumably together. Maybe Ringo will sit in with Paul's band...as a second drummer...for "All My Loving" or some other Beatles song. :

It wouldn't surprise me if they did a big "Hey Jude" sing-along at the end, but I hope it's "All My Loving"! Or how about "What Goes On"?

yeah...Iheart was great. Paul & Ringo would have to play with Paul's band. Just set up 2 kits for the drummers. Please no, not the all star band.

His band (Brian, Rusty,, et al) were with him on the Grammys in 2012.

Sorry, but if Ringo gets on the drums to commemorate 50 years since appearing on Ed Sullivan, there should not be another drummer up there. He can quite handle it himself.

Ringo even has another drummer with him in his own All Star shows! But seriously...they can take turns. Abe knows when to step back. AND... BTW...Paul is nominated along with Dave Grohl so there is yet another drummer!
