Paul McCartney 2016 Rumors
-
Hot rumour!!!! It looks like no more rumours for 2016!!
-
Which is great.....lets get on to new album!!!!
-
Wouldn't expect any more shows this year, but I'm sure he'll do something- maybe something like the SNL Christmas show?

agreed...although he should stay away from that show. The sound is usually bad there.

I have heard that they are done this year at least concert wise. A sneaky tv appearance one never knows
-
McCartney himself said this months ago in an interview months ago, paraphrasing: "we're doing Desert Trip later this year, I wanna finish my new album so I told my promoters to not do any bookings past that". We knew since then.

Well thanks for your informative and snarky remark. I am aware of the interview and actually quoted it months ago on the forum. But as most folks know, things sometimes change, and all I am saying is as my last conversation with my pal. That has not changed.

I was just saying, repeating the reasoning behind it for those who might have missed it. Not meant snarky, not aimed at you.

Ok, sorry then. Several folks thought it was and after reading it, wasn't sure. My bad. Sorry again! Don't know if you saw new album sessions November finishing up in December. Mixing January and February. Word is 26 songs recorded/or still to be for consideration for the album. Guess obvious release date would be after July 31st when the Capital deal takes effect

No worries, after re-reading I see it wasn't the most subtly worded. Hasty commenting on mobile, sorry about that.

Social media is not always perceived as "sociable." That's why I like to use emoticons.

The quote is from the Steve Hoffman music forums and it reads as though he is quoting some source but fails to tell anyone it's origins. I am always skepticle with new album news this far ahead...I wish I knew the origin because i'd like to read it as well

The large majority of users at SH.TV who post "inside information" are fantasists with 0,0 track record. But this particular user is legit, he proved often enough. He called 'Pipes Of Peace' and 'Tug Of War' as next Archive Releases 13 full months before the "Coming Soon"-card even appeared. He called in June 2015 John Hammel would retire from touring at the end of that year. His source is involved in a lot of McCartney projects off and on-stage. But this also means that he's so close to the fire that sometimes the plans he posts about don't come true at all, from alleged album names or projects to track lists with potential Archive Releases material. I do think it's very plausible the McCartney album is done within not all too long. But with McCartney's old-fashioned promo team I can see it happen that it takes another half a year before it gets released, since they have to find a way to cram Jimmy Fallon and Jools in the same week, before they abandon the promotion altogether.

It was too length of a blurb to have just been thought for as post. It had background info in regards to the "In the Blink of an Eye" track and other song used as to personel and quotes by Paul and the producer and then a short paragraph on new album quoting 26 tracks. A little different than the unconfirmed info that Steve Marinucci got with 17 songs and a possible March release with a single soon. Guess we'll all have to wait

Hm, knowing the latter he just found that info either here or over at SH.TV and build a story around it. It really depends on what they are planning on, but it's pretty certain they won't drop the (already finished) 'Flowers' boxset and the new studio album at the same time. And then there's the earlier mentioned Capitol deal, not coming into play until July 2016 as you said. And yes, I agree, it's too elaborated to be hogwash, but I'm saying he's so close to the fire that he either sometimes deliberately get misinformed or he knows things so uncertain yet that it gets changed. For example the 'New' information he posted half a year before release ( http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/mccartney-upcoming-new-rock-album.277396/page-15#post-8593590)) is a good example of that. We will see!

I'm surprised he's not going to do at least one UK gig before Xmas. The Liverpool Arena is talking of the announcement tomorrow of a Golden Gig. Maybe?

ooh...I wonder would he announce a pre-Xmas gig at such short notice? not that he'd have any problem selling it out!
