Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!

21st Century Paul:
-I think that by "a proper" album we mean the kind of album where Paul is at his best. His classical music stuff is great but Liverpool Oratorio or Ecce Cor Meum are no way as good as Flaming Pie or Off The Ground. Kind of the same with McCartney II, that's almost like EA...
Well, that's your opinion anyway.. And when it comes to taste there is no universal truth..
yes, well, there is, there is good taste and there is bad taste... Liking Mozart is not the same than liking Salieri...
-
audi:
Exactly. Universal Here. Everlasting Now.
no way, if there was no truth and just opinions then Paul would be just another musician really, they would be all equal really... as we just have "opinions"... the most horrible noise would be as great music as the most beautiful sound... I would be as good playing basketball as Michael Jordan, lol... I need help from Plato, the philosopher... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_epistemology "Plato drew a sharp distinction between knowledge, which is certain, and mere opinion, which is not certain. Opinions derive from the shifting world of sensation; knowledge derives from the world of timeless forms, or essences" etc etc etc and... if you say "there is no truth, just opinions...", you mean that what you have said is true, I guess, so it's a contradiction...
-
What I would really like Paul to do is another Frog Chorus... like "You don't like that... I don't mind... I like it!" and many like it, really...
-
Oh, the strange mind of yours, Ollie.

Personally I think McCartney is just going to release an album like he always does. I don't think he's concerned about what Elton has done, or how high Rod Stewarts album has gone, or anything else. McCartney is just going to make the album that he wants, and that's it.
Well, perhaps, but lately, this has been business as usual for Paul (and I'm sure I'm missing some!): Chaos and Creation in the Backyard: ? regular CD ? deluxe CD with bonus DVD ? vinyl single of "Jenny Wren" with B-side "Summer of '59" ? Well sooner or later the new single would be aired on some radio... I don't have a clue or when or where. I guess this is not gonna be the new single, probably Paul doesn't even record it (maybe for a Russian Edition, lol). But it is a new song and he has played it live. Petrushka-Paul's new song live in London
there's several videos of other live performances New York soundcheck I love it, if this is not on the album it's gonna be the biggest disappoint since Central Park 4.00 or since Is It Raining in London (from the Off The Ground sessions) Hamish Stuart live -

I take it this listening to some of the tracks was all a hoax !?? If not why no more info....if the album was this hot surely they would be more discussion of the tracks etc.!! I've got a feeling we've been led up the garden path....again.

C'mon Macca Mad, there's no more info because they haven't released any more, it's just that simple. Doesn't mean the guy didn't hear the album? In fact looking at his page, it appears this is very legit.

And isn't it about time he did??? Oh, the humanity! Why make us wait in suspense, Paul???

Yoko has announced her new album for September 17. I'll bet Paul puts his album out on the 24th, then, to avoid sharing headlines with her. If he waits till October or later, he misses the Grammy Award deadline (which may not matter to him, but it would matter to his label?that's a big reason September is loaded with "prestige" releases). However, if he thinks this album is going to be a huge, hit-packed blockbuster, then I could see him waiting, to be closer to the holiday shopping season.

It's not going to be a "hit-packed blockbuster." David Bowie's new album got great reviews everywhere and it STILL wasn't a "hit-packed blockbuster." Neither was Bruce Springsteen's latest. And it's amazing how fast people seemed to forget about Dylan's latest. Artists of their age might reach No. 1 for a week but they're not producing "hit-packed blockbusters" and neither will Paul -- especially in the UK where people seem to feel he can no longer sing. : So let's have some realistic expectations here. How about just a fine late-career album that gets strong reviews? And I hope he puts it out in October. Yoko is going to release her album in mid-September and she's got a bunch of other artists contributing so the album will get attention. The last thing I want to read is reviews saying "look at forward-thinking Yoko collaborating with these cutting-edge artists" while Paul is just on his own. Lets avoid such facile comparisons and release it in October.

Well it can't be that " HOT" if he ain't talking about it......what has he said about it scince the day he announced he had heard it ? I reckon it will be out around september/ october , 13 / 15 tracks & spend ( in the UK ) 5 weeks in the charts. Or I will be blown away & it will be a double album & he will tour the UK playing just the new album & the odd hit from the past & it will top the charts until Christmas.....I know i'm dreaming.

Those Were The Days was based on an old Russian tune wasn't it?

No, I don't expect it to be a hit-packed blockbuster. That's why I expect it to come out in September. And yes, I believe it will be a fine late-career album that gets good reviews. I think a week is long enough for Yoko-mania to subside, no matter who she collaborates with. She has become a force to be reckoned with on the dance charts (ten, yes, ten #1 hits in the past decade), but her albums tend to fall flat commercially and radio won't touch her (on the occasion of her recent eightieth birthday, our local cool station played a set of songs in her honor...by John Lennon!). I believe Paul's producer collaborators will be more than enough to overshadow anything she could do in the eyes of the wider public. She won't be touring and she won't be fawned over on "The View" or "Good Morning America" or that kind of thing. Paul has built up such a torrent of goodwill (and critical credibility of his own) that I think he's fairly unassailable.

Abe on the new album: Now beginning their second decade together, McCartney?s solo band is working on their fourth studio album. Six years since their last, ?Memory Almost Full? (McCartney?s most recent album, last year?s ?Kisses on the Bottom,? was a collection of Great American Songbook standards), they have ?a wealth of material? amassed, says Laboriel. ?It?s exciting,? he says. ?A lot of different styles. It?s very youthful ? aggressively rock at times, and singer-songwriter, insular and intimate, at others.? http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/music/2013/07/04/keeping-beat-for-sir-paul/waAErTKnLpPaoG4sBDED6J/story.html

I love that Abe used the word "insular". Haven't heard it used in a while. I guess he sort of means it stands alone....completely apart from anything else, as if isolated on an island; and nothing touches it?
