Paul Collaborating with Kanye West
-

Still gossip, but this would be mega. Kanye West is one of the biggest musical geniuses of my generation, and it would be a musical dream to see him collaborating with Paul McCartney.
I think you're using the term "musical genius" a little generously here. Kanye West is certainly talented at what he does, but a musical genius...that's a stretch (and a long one at that, IMO, haha). I'm going to try and keep an open mind, and reserve judgement until something is released (IF something is, in fact, released).

Say it ain't so, Paul. I will try to keep an open mind about this. I have a hate/love regard for Kanye West. He speaks the ugly-truth, not unlike John Lennon, but his leviathan ego just turns my stomach. Oy vey. Let's hope that Paul doesn't DARE try to rap.
-
I only saw Kayne at the 12/12/12/ benefit concert. Hated it but I don't like hip hop. I do think if it's a go, it's because Paul found something worthwhile. I'd give it at least one listen.

Well, now Consequence of Sound is reporting it as a definite thing that is happening - and might even be an album: http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/08/kanye-west-and-paul-mccartney-are-recording-music-together-including-song-titled-piss-on-my-grave/ I honestly don't know how I feel about this... Completely torn (but, at the very least, it should be interesting) LOL Love or hate Kanye, one thing is obvious: a collaboration like this gives him his best chances at a going #1 with an album or single in 30 years... (I just think someone like Justin Timberlake would have been a better fit)
Really? song titled piss on my grave? : : : Maybe Paul can sing that at his next Beatlefest...& see how many people run to the restroom.
Well to be honest, piss on my grave does sound like Paul's wicked sense of humor at its worst....

The only way Paul will get another #1 single is by partnering with popular acts like Kanye, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Ray, or Timberlake. He needs to do it.
Lol. 'He needs to do it?!' For who's validation? I think he has nothing to prove after a 50+ year career as a Beatle. No one seems to buy records (no matter whom the artist is) to sustain it as a money making career. He brings enough of the masses to the concerts while making records for fun. I'm not a fan of this BUT i certainly don't think this is needed to bring a 72 year old to the top of the charts in hopes of validity. His resume is doing quite fine to be remembered 500 years from now.

This is just ridiculous. He won't play an equal amount of solo vs Beatles songs at his concerts...ley's see him do this one for the 1st timers at the concert...all the Beatle people. :

While it would be nice for Paul to hit #1 again, I'd rather have him keep making good albums and not worry about whether singles chart. Partnering with Cyrus or Timberlake? No thanks - I'd rather he retire if that's the alternative. Quality of the music is much more important than sales.

At least it would be better than NEW. (Cue hate comments) Trololololololoololol
-
I have to say a big NO to this!
-
Aaaaaarrrgggggggg!!!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not with that Kanye.... Arrogant. Inflated ego. Mediocre talent.... Can't stand the guy. Rude and disrespectful. And his little mate Bieber will be sniffing around too. Say, Say, Say it ain't so.
-
I agree with Michelley. I highly doubt Paul's motivation for this is commercial. If it were, a Timberlake or Bruno Mars would be better choices to work with. I think Paul just likes him as an artist and sees a collaboration with him as a challenge. Love him or hate him (and he seems like a giant douche as a person), Kanye has been one of the most respected artists in the industry over the last decade or so. I'm intrigued.

Does this mean Paul is going to go around covering one eye and making triangles with his hands?
-
To be honest, I think it's cool. But let's wait for the result first...
-
SO BAD !!! Had NEW become a hit album there would be no way Paul would do this ludicrous collaboration. He can`t seriously think it will be regarded as a return of Paul Mccartney to the top of the charts and platinum status. I truly respected him for the output since Flaming Pie. It was varied but always truly Paul. Not megasellers as in the 60s and 70s but quality music from one of the greatest songwriters of all times. I´m also wondering why he`s doing this when he in so many words trashed his duets with Stevie and Michael in the early 80s. At least he was a hit - maker in his own right then. This now will probably look like a has-been desperatly trying to get a shot at the No. 1 spot

Are you serious? You didn't like NEW?
-
TERRIBLE!!!!
-
Maybe Paul can write Kanye a new song that way he'll have two.
-
IN case anyone didn't see what Kanye did when Taylor Swift won...
-
I know I won't be buying this if it is true.
