"Did We Meet Somewhere Before?" - Unreleased Track

it is the opening track of the film "Rock 'n' Roll High School" , that was the first time I have heard it. and recognized it was Paul from the beautiful dreamy vocal. it is really a beautiful song. the second part of it might have needed more effort but still it is beautiful.

Oh I remember reading that, but I can't say I've ever seen the film. I agree with you.

I could do without the horses, but lovely track otherwise. I have it on an "unofficial" Cold Cuts.
-
Hopefully, it will be included in the Venus and Mars Remasters. Paul has quite a few of these unreleased gems.
-
Too many of them, it took me a while to get the MP3 for India after my computer crashed. Hope they are all on some type of release or remaster. This is a great song, I agree.

Its thought that the track dates from 1978 so I guess its more likely to be made available on the London Town release, or even Back To The Egg?
-
Yeah I think it was recorded late 1977 bit before Waterspout. Beautiful track!

It is nice....haven't heard it before....and yet....here and there it sounds like bits of pieces of some of his other songs....which don't readily come to mind. There's something familiar in the melody here and there, but can't put my finger on it....them!

I had read that this was originally commissioned for the Warren Beatty film Heaven Can Wait, but was rejected as being too lazy; which is ironic as the film was a mess. It's actually one of my very favourite McCartney songs.

It's one of my favs as well... don't understand the lazy comment ? I can definitely see it as a song to a movie though... I wish there was a really nice video for this one... does anyone know why this didn't make it on to a proper album? Thankfully, I have it on Cold Cuts as well! So many gems the world is missing I really like the horses too, it seems to evoke the feeling of yesteryear as in meeting somewhere before...

It isn't listed on the contents/track listing for that upcoming release. The song, while pretty, sounds vaguely like numerous other McCartney ballads. Can't put my finger on which ones, however.

Listening to this again, it would be nice to have the synths stripped out and replaced by orchestral and brass tracks. But even as is, it's lovely.
-
I think it's delightful. Sweet, cheesy, and instantly memorable.
-
I wonder if Paul still wants to do some songs like this? It's actually reminding me of a theme song for a TV show...anyone else thinking that? Trying to figure out what show, maybe a British one? Anyone?
-
Did this song ever make it onto any of the remasters' track lists? Was listening to it again and it crossed my mind.

It's from the LONDON TOWN era, so I'm expecting to see it as a bonus on that remaster - or possibly on that of BACK TO THE EGG. However, at this stage there's no indication as to a release date for these.
