During a conversation with a few friends, the subject of music came up. We were all talking about our favorite artists and what we listen to on a regular basis. As I was listing all my favorites, my wife interjects and says: "he mainly listens to Paul". At first, I slightly objected, saying that while Paul was far and away my favorite musician of all time, I do indeed listen to other artists. However, when I really started thinking about it I realized she was right. I really do just listen mostly to Paul's music! And what's wrong with that?

Same here. There are a few other artists I enjoy, but PM is light years ahead of them. 90% of the time the music in my car, home, and even my workout playlist is Paul.

I couldn't imagine not keeping up with current music -- including McCartney's.

Indeed. What's wrong with that? I'd like to know. 'Cause here I go again...

Paul has penned or co-penned such a variety of songs that work with different moods and events.

My friends say the same thing about me. Paul is the majority of what I listen to, but I do listen to other artists (just not as much). There is simply so much to choose from at any time. Right now I'm looking at my McCartney master playlist in iTunes. It's at 1,433 songs and is just under 96 hours (4 days long...and that doesn't include any Beatles releases).

Paul has a lot more than a lot of other people. It's hard not to listen to him more than groups like Cream or Men At Work. There's a new 11 CD Simon & Garfunkel box set, and they only released 5 albums.

McCartney and any Beatle/Beatles is a constant on my stereo, it's been like that since I was a kid. But I also have a more general interest in music and quite a huge and varied record collection. I go back and forth in music history all the time, not just pop or modern recordings, but back to medival times and compositions by Hildegard Von Bingen. There are also music I like and dislike more or less of course, both old and new. You can't dig it all. I think I am as whimsical in my music taste as Paul McCartney is in creation of music. Maybe why he works for me and is a bit of a favorite.

I listen to and enjoy all kinds of music. But between The Beatles and his solo work over the years, I could say I have probably listened to Paul's music more than any other artist ever. Overall though I still listen to The Beatles more than anyone else. Anytime and any day I still love every one of their albums, and I never get tired of them.

I went through Paul Simon solo and Art Garfunkel solo, Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLaughlin listening phase a few years back, then Coldplay, then got into McCartney music quite intensely, listened to his more than anybody else's for several years and it's ongoing. Paul's seems to hold my interest and admiration the most. I still believe in half-way trying to keep up with certain offerings of the latest and newest if I enjoy their styles and song subjects, lyrics, overall musicality

A McCartney/McLachlan collaboration would be awesome.

Think maybe I would have been more than satisfied if McCartney just made a McCartney record up next. So much hype for his latest collaborations. I have experienced earlier that he can stand on his own feet, musically.... Perhaps it's time for a sprawling double album, the "Paul McCartney" album, with all sorts... :

Yep, I think Hildegard Von Bingen is great. I have two albums in my collection, one is called "Vision" and is an 'update' on her compositions with modern instrumentation and interpretations by Richard Souther, it's a bit new age kind of but nice, the other one is "11,000 Virgins" performed by Chants for the feast of St. Ursula, and is more of a re-creation or period sounding. Nice music if you need a break from pop maybe, a kind of meditative music.
