You people are the luckiest in the world to have been alive in such a gear fab era!
There were many "much younger"people waiting at the gates at Halifax commons...they mostly looked at me as if I were insane, a old person sleeping out and trying to act like a teen! NO, that's just what I had to do to get to see Paul and hear Paul in person. I'd do it all again...don't care what anybody thought of me!!! I was too young when The Beatles were touring to get to see them LIVE and then I had children to raise and had to put all my dreams on hold, well, all the children are grown and gone. I finally got to see Paul(not John or George) and not Ringo...yet! My oldest son thinks I'm a "kickass cool mom" Thanx James!

Your story sounds like mine - except I wasn't too young to see the Beatles when they were touring - I just lived in flyover country and they never came to Oklahoma. At that time, Dallas seemed like a million miles away. (Although, my daughters have never told me I was a 'kickass cooll mom'!) I was 17 when the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan. I would never have thought Paul would come to OKC and now he's coming to Tulsa as well! LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 57. I never saw the Beatles, but I did see them on Ed Sullivan on February 9, 1964. I have seen Paul and Ringo each numerous times. I enjoyed it immensely. I don't get as wild and crazy as I used to, but I enjoy it every bit as much.

I will be 54 on Sunday, remember Beatlemania, Pepper, etc. going out and buying McCartney when it came out in 1970 on vinyl when I was 15. I know its trite but he has provided the soundtrack of my life. No one better than Paul.

I really don't remember Wings either. I was too busy going to college and listening to John Denver. ops:

Wings was great and seeing them in 1976 was fantastic, they sounded much "heavier" live. I also got the opportunity to see John Denver live at Red Rocks and he put on a great show. (Red Rocks is awesome - lived in Colorado for about 5 years in the early 80's)

My grad student boyfriend and I were both broke when Wings came through in 1976. He let me choose the one concert I wanted to attend--Wings or John Denver and I chose John Denver. ops: I didn't have the opportunity to see Paul again until 1990 and I've made the most of it.

I'm 57 now I was 12 when I saw a picture of the Beatles in a magazine in late 1963, before they came to the U.S. I looked closely at that picture, and stared at Paul's baby face, those eyes, those lips...and fell in love with him. And I still love him as much as I did all those years ago. I have been lucky to have seen him in concert 5 times. The biggest thrill I ever got was when we waited for him to arrive to the concert venue in San Jose. His motorcade was arriving and I held up my handmade sign that said "To Sir Paul With Love". He had his window rolled down, he looked at the sign, looked at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I nearly fainted. And that was just 2 years ago. Paul and his music has helped me many times throughout my life.

I turned 56 in June can't believe time has gone bye so fast Anyway, I will always remember seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan falling in love with them immediately I saw The Beatles play in 66 and have seen Ringo and Paul several times in concert. The last time I saw Ringo he joked with me throughout the concert I had such a blast that night The last time I saw Paul in concert, he gave me an autograph and was great about ackowledging all the signs I held up I told my husband before he married me (soon to be 34 years) he had to share me with The Beatles and I must say he has done a good job

It's been an odd journey from 1964 to 2009. I was 17 when The Beatles played on Ed Sullivan. Their music was a constant from that point on and through my college years. I married in 1969. I still remember where I was when I heard The Beatles had broken up. I think my husband thought it was childish that the breakup of a band made me sad. Before long, kids came along and there wasn't money to buy records, 8-track tapes, cassettes or CDs, much less tickets to concerts. Besides, I lived in Oklahoma and I would never have a chance to see any of them in a concert. I would still turn the radio in the car all the way up after hearing just a couple of notes of a Beatles or Wings song, but that was the only time I heard their music. The faint hope that they might reunite was always alive until that awful night in December, 1980. I went to a concert at Texas Stadium in the 1980's, but somehow sitting on the 50 yard line when Paul and the band were in the end zone wasn't a very satisfying experience. Fast forward to 2000. I was newly divorced. For me, one of the thoughts that went through my mind at that time was this: "The kids are finished with college and for the first time in many years, my time is completely my own. What have I missed over the past 30 years?" One of the answers to that question was 'my music'. I bought a cd player and began to build my music collection. Lots of music from the late 50's and 60's but the overwhelming majority of it is Beatles and Paul's music post-Beatles. I still remember reading a small blurb in the paper that said Paul was going to tour the US in 2002. By then, both of my daughters were living in Dallas. I called them up that day and said "We are going to see Paul McCartney!" We saw him in Reunion Arena and I wasn't prepared for the emotional impact of the first notes of "Hello, Goodby" It completely blew me away. Since then, I've seen him in OKC in 2002 and Dallas in 2005. August 17th will be his second concert in the state of Oklahoma since 2002. Had you told me in 1964, 1974, 1984 or 1994 that Paul McCartney would play Oklahoma twice in my lifetime, I would never have believed it. For some strange reason, my love of his music is stronger now than it was in the 1960's. Is it because we are all growing older and each concert might be the last? I don't know. I'm just grateful that I have the opportunity to see him perform again on August 17th.

[turned 58 this past June and I too belong to the first generation of being a BEATLE fan. I don't remember much of WINGS because I was busy raising 4 kids born, 1970, 1973, 1977, and 1978. And if I wasn't busy, I would have been too broke to buy concert tickets. I must say WINGS music is one of my favorites and will always be a part of my life. What concerts I didn't make it to in the 70-80's, I have more than made up for it now, especially Paul's.]
