Your Paul guilty pleasure song!
-
I like most of the songs that people here deride, "We All Stand Together", "Ebony and Ivory", "Biker Like an Icon", "No Values", "Love is Strange", "Heather", "Say Say Say".

If that's the case, then most people here have bad taste

Jeezz.... You guys make it seem like it's a guilty pleasure liking a Paul McCartney song that isn't a Beatles song......... Just like the man himself
Ha ha. Yeah, it's weird, isn't it? I'm very critical of some of his career decisions in recent years, and his attitude towards his solo career in general, but the music? No. And yet here we are, on a McCartney FAN forum, with people queuing up to trash a lot of it. Strange....

Temporary Secretary, So Bad, Ebony and Ivory, Heather.

Here I go: I LOVE the Driving Rain album. All of it. Awesome stuff.
-
Driving Rain is one of his best albums.
-
I loved Biker Like an Icon. I was surprised to find people here hating it as much as they did. I first saw the video and it struck a chord with me since I lived through that
-
I"m trying to figure out if We All STand Together is a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't hate it. I enjoy it for what it is: A children's song for a children's show and I can enjoy it on that level. I don't get why it gets such hatred and mockery when other writers of children's songs don't

I'll Give You a Ring

Everyone in my family calls me a Beatlefreak, especially with Paul. I like to play a lot of Paul songs people don't know or "haven't heard in 30 years". I've been able to turn a lot of people onto Paul songs they never knew. Sometimes they've heard the song and like it, but say they never knew it was Paul. I sometimes make playlists at family parties and events, and once in a while I'll throw in something from Paul that gets me weird looks from people! Such examples include: - Ballroom Dancing - Love Is Strange - Où Est Le Soleil - Mary Had a Little Lamb - Spies Like Us - No More Lonely Nights (Playout Version) Broad Street, Wild Life, Fireman...I love all that stuff, but much of it gets misunderstood by the general public lol. I don't think they're bad at all. In some cases, it's like Elvis' movie music. A lot of people put down Elvis Presley's movie music of the '60s because they can be silly, and while some were bad yes, some are very memorable to Elvis fans. When they realize context or that they were written for specific scenes, it suddenly wasn't that bad. And that's how it is with some Paul songs. Some are not conventional, and that's their appeal! (to me anyway)

Mary Had A Little Lamb. Dismissed by snobby critics but just a great pop song aimed at kids.
