Hmmm, so this is the new album cover.....?! My first gut reaction is.....cool! Good, I think I like it. It has a Euro-artsy-pop feel. Quite hip and modern. It looks like something you might see in a trendy art gallery -minimalist...(simple shapes or strokes evoking a bigger meaning)....fluorescent tubes with kitsch colours (retro 80s feel is hip).....set against a textured background. Edgy. Based on reports of this being a very eclectic album (well, aren't all his albums and the best Beatles' albums like that?), this kind of mysterious cover might fit the bill. Me likes it!
It is clearly quoting the work of Dan Flavin, one of my favorite artists. He has a permanent installation of work at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas. http://www.moma.org/explore/multimedia/audios/34/805

That is very cool! Thank you for sharing. I was aware of Dan's work, but not so much of the artist himself.

Finally heard "New" on the radio. Sounded great! It was on the Philly station that interviewed him recently. She said she "will remember August 29th" for the rest of her life!

Lol, yes, I've pre-ordered the LP over here with, and I quote, "14 tracks".

I was just in WalMart yesterday and I was looking at the list of new CDs from artists they had coming to the store in October and Paul was not listed there. I will still check October 15 at the store, but I thought that was strange.

Can you believe, another Update: Regular CD with 12 tracks Vinyl LP with 12 tracks Dutch LP with 2 bonus tracks iTunes deluxe download with 2 bonus tracks French deluxe CD with 2 bonus tracks (they've lost one! Check it out) Canadian deluxe CD with 2 bonus tracks and extended booklet Walmart deluxe CD with 3 bonus tracks Japanese deluxe CD with 4 bonus tracks Best Buy deluxe CD with photo cards and badge and no bonus tracks (that we know of; the three different versions they're selling don't make a lot of sense at this point)

http://www.contactmusic.com/story/paul-mccartney-lines-up-brad-pitt-and-sean-penn-for-video_3875603 Brad Pitt and Sean Penn to appear in Paul's "next video." To me, that sounds like a song other than "New," but we shall see. Great to hear it described as having a "brilliant concept"!

Maybe it will only be available from WalMart online. They carry so few CDs in stores these days.
