Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
-
I took half a day off to go get NEW and LISTEN ONLY BY Myself...CANT WAIT ..Take it all in!! ...sometimes stuff gets out and it's old before it comes out...( ie..Chaos and Memory) ...used to be in the Record Biz ..ALWAYS had advanced copies of Paul WAY BEFORE They came out,,,this will BE N E W .....
-
Been away from the board for a couple of weeks Bad cold Any idea why "new" was chosen as title?
-
Because it's his first new music in a long time? And fans continually harped on wanting new music from him? I know, that seems too obvious (?) ops:
-
melissa @dollybird1963 @PaulMcCartney Why did you call the new album 'New'? #askMacca Paul McCartney @PaulMcCartney Thanks @dollybird1963 I was playing around with more poetic titles but NEW was a simple word and the name of a song on the album #askMacca 10:44 AM - 3 Oct 2013

Target has finally put its exclusive version online: http://www.target.com/p/paul-mccartney-new-deluxe-only-at-target/-/A-14888129#prodSlot=large_1_1&term=Paul+McCartney Shows the track listing as just the 12 songs (which we know is really 13 with the hidden track "Scared"), and says it includes the 30-minute interview DVD. I'm still waiting to see what Walmart does. Will they have their own exclusive, or is it just the same deluxe version that most other outlets have, with just the two bonus tracks? I'm definitely not shelling out for the Japanese CD to get one extra song. 15 new McCartney tracks will suffice for now, and I'll wait it out to see if there's some bigger deluxe version months down the line, a la "Complete Kisses," with even more unreleased songs in addition to "Struggle."
-
The word DELUXE I now find somewhat meaningless. I would think DELUXE should mean it has bonus tracks. Now they throw in some extra non-music related stuff (a DVD, or postcards and a badge) and call it DELUXE. As a result I haven't preordered anything just based on the words "DELUXE". I still feel I was ripped off over the KOTB, not having bonus tracks when I bought the on-line DELUXE version. Burn me once, shame on you...Burn me twice, shame on me! For me, I will somehow get the Japanese DELUXE version with Turned Out, Get Me Out Of Here, and Struggle (Man, THREE tracks better than Walmart and Target). For me it is the music! Podgie (I want it all, and I want it now! - Veruca Salt) Monkey

It was my understanding that the WalMart Deluxe version has Turned Out and Get Me Out Of Here as the 2 bonus tracks and Scared as the hidden tracks, so that's what I'm going for.

Well,, probably. I just checked their website, and WalMart does not have the track listing there yet!

That's also the version you get at Amazon. Don't know about price comparisons as I've already ordered it from Amazon.

This whole thing over Wally Mart having the bonus tracks started a few weeks back but has anyone actually seen that listed on their website or elsewhere? They aren't showing any details at all so I don't think we will really know who has what until the release date. With last year's KOTB, my Amazon copy showed up with no bonus tracks, despite what they had advertised, and thus I went to Target and found a bonus track edition, being tipped off by the good people on this message board and were "Out There" in the stores looking at what actually showed up that day.

Not sure how/where the Walmart exclusive rumor started, but it does seem possible. For Elton John's new album, the Walmart exclusive version had the most music out of all the deluxe versions.

That makes sense then, they must be trying to increase their CD sales and getting anything exclusive is bound to help.

So have you guys been hearing some of the tracks? This album sounds amazing! Paul has been writing the heck out of these, lyrically and melodically very impressive. Best stuff since Wings?? Hm now that's tough to say. Damn good though, can't wait til it tops the chart. It's worthy.

I can wait eight more days, unless the Queenie Eye video hits YouTube!

Actually it is the "The Diving Board" Target release the one that has all the gems, being one of them a japenese-only bonus track.
