Here are some other suggestions in no particular order.... * Outtakes with Elvis Costello for 'Flowers In The Dirt'... please release 'Tommy's Coming Home'.... love that song * I Want To Walk You Home, from Fats Domino tribute album * Heal The Pain, duet with George Michael * A Friend Like You, duet with Brian Wilson * I'm In Love Again, with Klaus Voorman's album 'A Side Man's Journey' * So Bad, duet with Lindsay Pagano * Inside Thing, duet with Lulu * Tropic Island Hum, from single * The Very Thought of You, duet with Tony Bennett * A Love For You, from 'The In-Laws' soundtrack (should be on RAM) * Live And Let Die, from 'The In-Laws' soundtrack * Room With A View, from Noel Coward tribute album * Maybe Baby, from 'Maybe Baby' soundtrack * Whole Life, with Dave Stewart from the Nelson Mandela 46664 album I'm sure there is more.... of the 'unreleased' stuff, I'd really like to hear 'Seems Like Old Times' from the 'Tug of War' era. 'Give My Regards To Broad Street' does need to have the movie with it, plus the movie documentary.... it starts off with Paul and George Martin in the studio and Paul is playing the 'No More Lonely Nights' riff on guitar while George is at the piano. There is an 8 minute 'making of' feature for the 'This One' video clip which would be cool to have on 'Flowers In The Dirt' Let me at the archives!

Excellent suggestions !

Saw that on TV once, might have it on an old VCR tape...is it available anywhere, YouTube maybe?

While Paul is going though his archives, how about releasing 'The Cooler'... the MPL promo film for Ringo's 'Stop And Smell The Roses' album which also featured Paul & Linda. OK, I know it's nothing to do with Paul's archive collection and has no place on any of his material, but MPL does own the film and it would be nice to see it released... maybe as a downloadable video on iTunes or something.

No news about the next remaster?

No news about the next remaster?
Nothing eminent - the only 'news' I've seen is probably the same 'news' everyone has seen (the little flyer that came with the BOTR release showing the 'soon to be released' albums of Mcartney I and II, plus another album or two)

Anyone have any idea on when this album will be released in the remaster edition? I guess it's part of the second go around of remasters. Thanks, Mark

Just picked this up from my other forum and its from Maccablog, the same site that got us first bit of news for the BOTR reissue. They say the next set of reissues will be McCartney & McCartney II!! "The news has been confirmed to MaccaBlog, the next remastered albums release of Paul McCartney will be McCartney I and McCartney II. Like the Band on the Run release, different editions will be available: For McCartney I : - 2CD package, the second CD containing rare and previously unheard audio documents. - 2CD and 1DVD package, with a 100 pages booklet. For McCartney II : - 2CD package, the second CD containing rare and previously unheard audio documents. - 2CD and 1DVD package, with a 100 pages booklet. The DVDs content has not been reveiled yet" http://www.maccablog.com/en/index.html#/n-mccartneyiandmccartneyiitobereleasedin2011-7998.html Time to get excited!!!

100 page booklets? Not as expensive as the BOTR book I'd assume.
-
I think it is great that they release whatever they can as soon as possible (without sacrificing quality or content). I would figure why not do Chaos, Run Devil Run, Driving Rain, McCartney and McCartney II all at the same time? Hopefully all of the albums might be reissued by the end of the year?

Great news! Can´t wait!

FANTASTIC NEWS! I'm really looking forward to this & can hardly wait!!!

I know I'm in the minority here, but how anyone can justify a deluxe edition of a duff album like McCARTNEY II -- with a 100-page book, no less! -- when the excellent but relatively unknown PRESS TO PLAY is sure to be all-but-ignored is completely beyond me. I know Paul himself thinks very little of PRESS TO PLAY, that he -- like a lot of people -- considers it a very dated sounding album, but the synths on McCARTNEY II sounded weak in 1980 and the album is full of songs that most artists of his stature would be embarrassed to have the public hear. Honestly, play "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Temporary Secretary" back-to-back and it's understandable how the "Paul is dead" rumours continue to this day! Hard to believe, but "Secretary" isn't even the worst song on the album; that dubious distinction goes to the truly execrable "Darkroom," a composition so unrelentingly horrible it wouldn't have passed muster on the weakest of Elvis Presley's soundtrack albums; it truly is the nadir of McCartney's composing career. Now before my fellow posters go all "Helter Skelter" on me, let's consider PRESS TO PLAY. From the opening crack of the snare of the infectious rocker "Stranglehold" to the whimsical and very Beatley closer "However Absurd," PRESS TO PLAY showcases an adventurous, consistently engaged McCartney with his creative powers in full bloom: the beautiful and haunting "Footprints," perhaps the finest undiscovered treasure in the McCartney songbook; "Talk More Talk" and "Press" reflect McCartney at his most experimental and playful, respectively, while "Only Love Remains" is another of those beautiful love songs the man seems to conjur at will; lastly, the punk-ish "Angry" and the Fats Domino-inflected "Move Over Busker" are stellar rockers that would be welcome additions to any McCartney live show. It's worth noting that this album came out at a time when the critical consensus was that "McCartney the rock 'n' roller" had been largely eclipsed by "Paulie the balladeer," yet PRESS TO PLAY has perhaps the toughest drum sound of all his post-Beatles recordings. So to sum up, why is an album as weak and unfocused as McCARTNEY II worthy of the deluxe treatment and a sterling, inspired collection such as PRESS TO PLAY is not? The cynic in me would conclude it's all about sales, although, in truth, McCARTNEY II produced only one more hit than the other, and if sales are the primary consideration in warranting deluxe reissues, can those Backstreet Boys and Jonas Brothers expanded editions be too far off?
