Paul McCartney Archive Collection

I know others have been talking about the ideas of what the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" edition of "Ram" should include, but here is my idea with some help and better ideas used: Sorry if I left anything better of bonus material to add in, ask if you want me to add something to this or do whatever you all want to do, please.
I'd like to know what's on the Ram cassette tape of 30 demos discovered last year. Release some of those along with the complete "Ram On" and first takes of "Long Haired Lady" and "Love Is Long" when they existed as two songs.

My idea of what the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" Deluxe Edition of "Wild Life" should include: Disc 1: The Original Album: 1. Mumbo 2. Bip Bop 3. Love Is Strange 4. Wild Life 5. Some People Never Know 6. I Am Your Singer --Bip Bop Link-- [?] 7. Tomorrow 8. Dear Friend --Mumbo Link-- [?]* Disc 2: Singles, Live Performances, and Etc.: 1. Give Ireland Back to the Irish 2. Give Ireland Back to the Irish (Instrumental) 3. Mary Had a Little Lamb 4. Some People Never Know (Demo) 5. Wild Life (Rehearsal) 6. Mary Had a Little Lamb (Long "4:36" Time Version) [It EXISTS!] 7. I Am Your Singer (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) 8. Wild Life (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) [There a better live version recorded of this song that should put instead?] I have to ask though should Hear Music add in the "Bip Bop/Mumbo" instrumental links into the original album? Or include them in the Bonus Discs, to maintain the original flow of the original 1971 LP by itself?!?!? 'Cause I'm afraid if that's done it'll cause other tracks to release in the bonus disc to be pushed off seeing the limited track listings of bonus discs for McCartney I & II + BOTR. I found out there was a demo version of "Mumbo" that's out there, but I didn't include it because it sounded TOO narrow, so sorry.
There's no demo for "Mumbo" but there are alternate mixes for that one and "Some People Never Know". There's also the Cavendish home recording of "Some People Never Know" from the McCartney sessions that would be interesting to hear along with the alternate orchestra mix of "Dear Friend". The "Bip Bop/Mumbo" links were always on the original album according to MPL. And if you're adding in "Mary Had A Little Lamb" which was recorded after Wild Life was released you might as well add the outtake "The Great Cock and Seagull Race".

Forget my previous idea of what the "London Town" reissue in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection should include I decided it should have a bonus disc and a DVD, I apologize if this looks lackluster, but who knows what could be added in.
In one word..."One Woman" should be released. It's said to be a great lost Wings track. A bunch of others would be cool to have like "El Toro Passing", "Twelve of The Clock". etc...

What I believe a "Deluxe Edition" version of "Pipes Of Peace" for the Archive Collection should include: Disc 1: The Original Album: 1. Pipes Of Peace 2. Say Say Say (As "Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson") 3. The Other Me 4. Keep Under Cover 5. So Bad 6. The Man (As "Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson") 7. Sweetest Little Show 8. Average Person 9. Hey Hey 10. Tug Of Peace 11. Through Our Love Disc 2: Outtakes and Etc.: 1. Say Say Say (Extended) [As "Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson"]* 2. Say Say Say (Instrumental)* 3. Keep Under Cover (Alternate Take) 4. Average Person (Alternate Take) 5. On The Wings Of A Nightingale 6. Twice in a Lifetime *The Two versions of "Say Say Say" NEED to be released and be the first tracks to be played in the Bonus Disc. I'm sorry I didn't add in more but I couldn't find other good audio or tracks to include, OTHER THAN "Ode to a Koala Bear" (Belongs on the reissue of "Tug of War", IMO). I also added in "TIAL" because despite rumors of it recorded in either 1984 or 1985 it might have been recorded in 1983 and it should be on the bonus disc to fill time.
"Fill time?" If you eliminate "Say Say Say" and "The Man" you could probably whittle this down to a single disc...
Well actually I put out a suggestion list for the bonus disc for the possible "PM Archive Collection" Edition of "Pipes of Peace" but seeing how must of the bonus discs usually include 7-9 songs now, I can only go up to 6 track suggestions since most of the 1984 material would associate with "Give My Regards.." (Do we REALLY need like 6-7 mixes of "No More Lonely Nights"!!?!?) Also "Simple As That" belongs on "Press to Play" and most of the material will probably be saved for the "Tug of War" reissue packages. However yes I am filling time for a possible bonus disc, seeing how the new remasters will probably be like those new Queen 2011 "Deluxe" Remasters with more of a bonus "EP" for a few of the albums and NONE OF THE ALBUMS WILL HAVE BONUS TRACKS! Just Bonus Discs.. I think that's what Hear Music will go with. So I doubt "Pipes of Peace" will have bonus tracks despite the low amount of material, just a Bonus Disc to please the fans and I doubt Hear Music/Paul himself will delete any original album tracks anywhere (even if most of us don't like the Paul/Michael tracks.) However who knows, I'm not Paul's biggest fan nor am I an expert, so maybe more material will be added to "Pipes.." since many tracks get leaked and get confirmed for existance, so my suggestions will stand the way they are now for "Pipes of Peace".

Entwistle905 - I really like your ideas & deluxe editions! I really really hope that Hear Music are looking at your lists! There are a couple of songs among your suggestions that I have never heard of! GREAT!
Hi Thanks, but I do have to give some credit to "cb70" and "NineteenHundredEighty8" for reminding me that some of these tracks that do indeed exist on tape or whatever, could be released and used as ideas along with reminding me of which songs should belong where, given me the nice and interesting data for some of them, correcting me and getting me to change my thoughts, I really do appreciate the help and thanks. Anyway, thank you, but I do hope Paul/Hear Music do give in to releasing "Ram" in Mono, IMO.

*Smacks head* Thank you for the information, I did not know, I'm not the best at these compiling of tracks for reissue ideas, but still really thank you. I guess the version of "Mumbo" I heard on YouTube (Yeah, yeah! "shows hands in the air") was a narrow acetate of the album version and NOT a demo! I'm sorry, I had NO idea, and I didn't even know that much of the outtakes/alternate mixes of "Wild Life" songs, even from reading the tracklistings for Bootlegs, so I didn't know, even though that possible acetate version of "Mumbo" sounded like it was recorded on a cassette tape or something! I should put in "The Great Cock and Seagull Race" as a suggestion for the bonus disc, I think I heard about it before, but I barely remembered the info on it's recording date, and if it did indeed still survives on tape, so what the Heck!

2. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae (As "Paul McCartney")+ 7. Must Do Something About It (Paul McCartney Vocal Version)# + I know that there is a debate on whether it should be on "V&M" or "WATSOS" but it should be on the "WATSOS" because it MIGHT have been recorded in 1976 and seeing how it has a X-mas theme it must have come from LATE December 1975 which could associate itself (by school years) with an early 1976 released album which is "WATSOS" and there is MORE material to add to the bonus disc(s) of "V&M". #IT EXISTS! No joke, it's not a rumor, a roadie I believe from what I've heard passed away and I believe his material on tape had been auctioned off and then leaked on the web around c. 2008~2010 and this version of the song is intact and should be included and I heard it's longer than the Joe English vocal version of the album, so what the Hell!? If anyone wants to picket at my suggestion, feel free to do so!
Paul's version of "Must Do Something About It" has been available for a year now. It's no longer than the version on Speed of Sound but it does have a different drum and guitar track. Rudolph dates from late '74 to early '75 when Paul was doing the music for the Geoff Britton Empty Hand project. Hopefully WATSOS would include the reggae version of "Silly Love Songs" and maybe one or two more outtakes and save the rest for the box.
Wow, how did you all of this!?!? (well you must have heard Paul's Vocal Version of "Must Do Something About It" somewhere) I knew there was an alternate vocal version of "Must Do Something About It", but I didn't know it had different instrumentation/dubbing at one point. Also how did you know about the situation with "Rudolph the Red Nose Reggae"!? On Wikipedia it said the song was just recorded in 1975 (I assumed first it meant LATE December 1975!) Then on the Beatles fansite "jpgr.co.uk" it said "Rudolph" was recorded in 1976 with Paul getting some uncredited delivery man to play on the track, but I saw no mention of the drummer (could be Paul? Geoff?) Thank you for the new information, I believe you (saw a bootleg with V&M tracks and "Rudolph" was in there, so now I guess it's from that period) and I can't believe I see little said about this "shakes head". Another thing, I didn't include the "reggae" version of "Silly Love Songs" because I almost thought it might not have survived on tape, but a different, early mix exists so I might go back and change my list, thanks again!
-
Thanks for all the suggestions of songs or tracks to add in, cb70! I really appreciate it! I added in some suggestions that you brought up, I didn't add in all for the fact that they could be saved for the future Anthology set or if I couldn't find more information to confirm their existence or if they do still survive on tape, and I added in that alternate version of "Dear Friend" you brought up to "Ram" since it originated from those sessions and I know very little of this "complete" version of "Ram" and seeing how there is a limit, it could come out as either a downloadable track or a track on the future Box Set, IDK, so I just hope you are fine with what I've done and still thanks.

I would like to see that funky instrumental version of Tomorrow added - it kind of reminds me of the theme song to the old tv show 'What's Happening'...I can see 'Re-Run' dribbling a basketball around a playground with this song playing in the background:-) ....of course if this is in stark contrast to the released (vocal) version of the song

Oh I heard of that instrumental version of "Tomorrow", it's actually from circa 1974-1975 leaning toward the "Venus & Mars" sessions, so I'll include it for my suggestions for the possible re-releases of "Venus & Mars", not the Wild Life reissue suggestions, but thank you for the suggestion!

I wonder how much Ram will be when it's released, will it be the price Band on the Run was or more the price of McCartney I and II. The prices of the deluxe remastered Pink Floyd albums make it seem much more reasonable though.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have here some information which will be of interest to you. However, I must warn you that side-effects do include euphoria, screaming and running round the room. This is from an insider in the Macca camp. ENJOY!
Some infos about the enormous project, with 50 + deluxe sets : . First, each deluxe set will have a great amount of bonus stuff, mainly already bootleged stuff but in excellent condition for the reissue ( only 2 or 3 unknown gems per sets ), the unknown stuff will be reserved for the wonderful box sets which will finished the reissue program. The quantitity of bonuses will be linked to the " non " success of the disc at the time : in other words , press to play and driving rain will be full of bonuses. All the b sides and remixes will be included, even it will contain 7 mixes of the same track . The reissues will be spread from 2010 to 2016. Run devil, chaos and driving will be first reissued simply( just to fill the space in records shops ) but will have a deluxe treatement in 2014 . All the titles not yet published but revealed will appear on the cloud or on the last great sets; " Cavendish Parade " has been copyrighted with a different title, because of the refrence of the actual McCartney Home in London . Some deluxe sets will be made in very low quantity and sell only on the mccartney site, and will become very high collectable items. At this stage, the mcgear holly set has some legal problems to be accepted because of the mixing of mike and Paul vocal tracks for the same songs ; Here is the deluxe schedule with hopes, including dvd archives and linda's archives. If this is indeed true than I must resist the urge to jump up and down. However I must remain rational and not believe it until MPL announces it. However the wings live 1979 is the one i simply wont be able to stop thinking about. I have been waiting years for good footage of the 79 tour.

Let's see, at about $60-90 for a set that amounts to how much money?

NONE OF US HAVE THAT PATIENCE PAUL!! 2.) at least the wings albums are coming out first...thats good. especially RAM since it's next and it has 3 audio CD's which im gonna guess right now will include the album in MONO! i can almost guarantee it. 3.) a couple of the boxsets look really interesting actually... the studio outtakes, the rude studio recordings, and the demos... those all look incredible and they are what we have always been waiting for. i can't wait for these to be released, but they are some of the last to be released so we have to wait 5 years?? repeat.... 5 YEARS. 4.) this all makes me so happy paul is doing this.

Don't get to excited this is not official. I really hope this cause it would all be great. And concerning Ram, I think the 3rd disc would be Thrillington (hope it's mono) cause Thrillington was not mentioned in the 50+ releases. Like I said in the post this is not official, but let's hope it turns out somewhat like this.
