Yes, it's a strange way it's done, but Tuesday's show is completely live, so it's not exactly a "highlights" show. Friday's contains additional material, also recorded on Tuesday but not performed live. I'd be interested to know how it's sequenced, whether the live show is recorded first and then the additional material recorded afterwards, or whether the live show is recorded at the end of the sessions... or perhaps in the middle? You have to be very lucky to get tickets for the recording. I've been trying for years. Of course, it's a lottery as to who is performing if you are lucky enough to get tickets. You'd hit the jackpot if Paul was on there, but you may end up with a less than impressive week. ps.I struggled to find this thread for a few minutes, because I was looking for it in "The Broadcast". Shouldn't it be there?

It used to be live, but since the move from tv centre it isn't - notice the way we all knew the set list on monday?! It's broadcast as if live, in one continuous thing, but was all filmed on monday.

Bit of a toss up really, we're usually loathe to move into Broadcast as that forum is regularly trimmed to keep the threads topical - while this is that at the moment the show and discussion is shaping up to be a keeper - esp if the US might not see it so immediately. Could even slip into Rock Show as it relates to live performances... Martin

I just got to watch it on BBCi Player. I'm pleased Paul has agreed to be "Water Paul" to join EWF

Really? That's disappointing. Why on earth couldn't they have kept the live format?

Sounds logical. At least I know where it is now! Looking forward to the full length version on Friday. I agree with Jock, Jools' piano solo on "Get Back" was sensational and arguably better than the late, great Billy Preston's original performance.

If they have the money to produce two shows a week, I don't get why they can't do one live show instead.

I like the casual black Macca's wearing. I like even more the returning mullet! Almost time to trip the live fantastic!

Care to explain to the non-Brits what that means? Will we ever get to see this in the U.S.?!

Reading the latest news on Sting's website, the first show of the current series, which featured Sting performing songs from his new album, is being shown on Palladia in the US tomorrow (24th October). Paul's appearance is the sixth episode in, so I should imagine it'll be shown in the US in six weeks or so. Enjoyed Paul's performances on the show last night. It's always worth watching both editions of the show as some performances from the first broadcast often don't feature in the longer version!

"Get Back"...viewable in the U.S...enjoy!

Thanks for the link, DrivinFan! Paul looked great (except for his hair being so long that it's *curling up* in the back ) and sang well. I agree that Jools played an excellent solo...funny to see someone besides Paul on that Magic piano.

Best I can explain this is that the BBC has programs for about 7 days TiVo. The "Water Paul" reference was a joke in the show when they were interviewing members of Earth, Wind, and Fire.
