I glad the songs are not in chronicle order, with old and new mixed together...plays more like a radio presentation

Sort of like that fantastic Sirius radio experience of a few years back, with the Paul McCartney station

Thank you so much for your kind replies, SusyLuvsPaul & wingsdgm! It was fun compiling this list - I think I'll listen to this playlist at the weekend.

I have now seen a $92 version on Amazon that is not listed as the 2 cd, 4cd, or 4lp version. Any thoughts?

Maybe it comes with a tote bag? LOL...maybe an import? I haven't seen any listings or extras yet. I would assume that Best Buy will have something.

I guess my ass is really grass, now, in hot water, put me foot in it ops: I had put on Paul's facebook I don't like the cover art all that much, have seen much more appealing pix of him, and then I find out Linda took that photo ! ops: I wrote he reminds me of the wonderful song Rocky Raccoon, there. So at least I put that and I meant it

I think it's on the b side of one of the Flowers in the Dirt singles (both 45 and cd?). Although tougher to find. Thanks though. I always thought it should have been on the album itself.

It's the b side of the 7 inch of "This One", always loved the flowers b sides.

Agreed on those b sides. I also feel something like Kicked Around No More from the Off the Ground b sides deserves to be heard by casual fans.

_____________________________________________________ Ed, Yes this is the kind of Pure McCartney I would have loved. Paul and his marketing people went the safer direction with primarily hits. Sounds like his inner circle gave him the same advice for his Live Shows. I like the concept of combining Pure McCartney with 4 new songs (one for each CD). I also like the idea of having some rarities like Back on My Feet, Yvonne, 1882, Kicked Around No More, Simple As That (the original Bonus track from the 1993 Collection, Flying to My Home etc. There are a few rarities that I don't know. You already answered the First Stone and Hang Glide. Could you also shed some light on: I Love This House I Wanna Cry (I know that Try Not to Cry is on Run Devil Run) If Macca took this type of "blueprint" for Pure McCartney, you could have 4 Pure McCartney (with 4 Cd's each) compilations and still have great sets. There are so many more deep cuts, rarities, B-sides and demo's that could be part of a Pure McCartney collection.

BJ Conlee, Sure (and if I'm wrong anyone out there please let me know). I love this house was done in 1984 (David foster I think) and found its way onto one of the Flaming Pie b sides. I wanna cry was from Choba B CCCP (aka the Russian album timeframe). I don't think it was officially released until the Paul McCartney rocks compilation in 1990.

from the home page: http://www.paulmccartney.com/news-blogs/news/67-tracks-of-pure-mccartney "Me and my team came up with the idea of putting together a collection of my recordings with nothing else in mind other than having something fun to listen to," Paul says of this project. "Maybe it's to be enjoyed on a long car journey or an evening at home or at a party with friends? So we got our heads together and came up with these diverse playlists from various periods of my long and winding career.?
Amazing that on this release there are about 30 songs that have never been played live once. Besides nothing from FITD being on this I am also stunned that "House of Wax" and "That Was Me" was left off also. Can't believe he included "Bip Bop" which is just awful. If you want to have something from "Wild Life" why not "Tomorrow" which is much better song.

He apparently thought listening to a piece of drivel such as "Bip Bop" might be fun. I believe he said that was the criterion he and his "assistants" used when compiling the song listing. His idea of fun....doesn't coincide with ours....quite often, this "song" being a prime example. :
