And now the time is near....

LD Spot on comments! I've spent ages trying to show people the real Paul, playing his music and showing them his vast catalogue of brilliant works, but now I feel like hiding. I cannot understand how anyone can say his performances have been good this summer, being ok and passable isn't good enough for Paul McCartney. His performances needed to be out of this world, and they ain't been! The solution is simple, we all know what needs to be done but as long as Paul and his team read the fawning comments of those with hearing issues like those on FB, then his reputation is going to continue it's downwards trajectory and eventually slam into the concrete and stay there. We'll be left picking up the pieces using a spatula and some blotting paper!

None of this matters, years from now history will prove Paul McCartney's place in music history along side John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Brian Wilson, Ray Davies, Rodgers and Hart, Beethoven, Mozart, Elvis Presley, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, etc. These same people will be saying when Paul's no longer here how much they loved his music....
I totally agree with this, so sad that people start to talk about this issue. And we don't care how he sounds in the performances, hope he could come to China, he got so many fans here.
IF you can convince your fellow countrymen to start treating animals with decency and respect perhaps you will get perhaps your wish one day.
So this is what China means to you folks....no offence but I personally respect those furry friends of human beings and so do a lot of people here. This is not the reason he would not come here or any other countries and regions in Asia, like Korea, Hong Kong or Taiwan. I believe there are still too much for both the people from east and west to learn in order to understand and respect each other, and this is also true as for Paul's decision of not coming to China.

Welcome to Paul's forum, Oeanary. All the way from China! I wonder if you're the first person here posting from China? At any rate, we're a feisty bunch with lots and lots of opinions about Paul and his music and his career. Hope you'll be joining in.

You two Brits who just disagreed with me, you're hopeless hard heads with no chance of ever getting through to you, looks like. When will you stop bringing us more enthusiastic, positive fans down (or trying to, rather) ? Brief appearances at huge events on the telly, however executed, are not nearly enough to tarnish the resplendent glories of Macca's overall legend and career. All his towering achievements remain as a matter of public record which can be explored and enjoyed by any who desire to investigate him and his music. They will be gobsmacked, and enthralled. All his potential to do more great things soon and in the future, remains. No fleeting telly appearance can doom that exhilarating probability.

strange and quite upsetting choice of words...duly reported.

hmmmmm....don't know what you meant by that enigmatic post (and don't want to know). You've written many things here before of a highly questionable upsetting nature, so it's really rich you seemed to find something disturbing in mine (?). And ironic! It doesn't matter though as nothing you put about me really bothers me or gets to me anymore, have become inured (happily impervious), because it's just a load of meaningless B. S.

If i'm a " hopeless hard head " at one end of the spectrum then you seem to be head in the sand delusional fanatic at the other. On record his back catalogue is fantastic, I know ive got 95% of it over the years, even his weak stuff is better than most peoples records. However i'm talking about him NOW, not live in '93 or on record in'78 but NOW, & now things don't look ( or sound good ), it might have been a " fleeting tv appearance " but it went down like a lead balloon here in the UK & was the final nail in the coffin of his reputation amongst the general public & even casual fans. Their perception of him is now along the lines of an old man trying to act & look far younger than his years, who relies on flogging the Beatle connection to within an inch of it's life, whilst being unable to sing the songs anymore. And after years of defending him against such views, I find it hard to disagree with many of the comments, as he does look odd, sounds vocally weak & i'm tired of the Beatle roadshow. As i've said in another post, the game is up as far as the UK goes i fear, he could barely keep a CD in the charts a month before all this & wasn't selling out concerts as far back as 1993, so after the last 2 TV shows he really has an uphill struggle on his hands unless things really change, I fear though his UK audience has left him for good now, I hope I am wrong.

dont worry 'maccamad' if name calling is what she is reduced to then a sure sign of losing the debate is evident. infact i will openly encourage you to complain to the moderating team .name calling however lame should not be an acceptable way to carry yourself on this forum.

Your disapproving words cast a bad light on Brits regarding the illustrious Paul Mc., a fellow countryman who should be rightfully cherished as a national treasure and one who is still working, creating and producing and not resting on his laurels. What a cynical envious lot many of you are, that's too bad. They're cheating themselves and depriving themselves culturally and musically. Those Brits of that mind set. It's pitiful and very sad.

As I said before, I always stood my ground & defended him to the hilt, but in the last few months, joe public does have a point, if they want to dip back & get his past offerings they will be pleasantly surprised, I doubt though that these people would even consider doing that at all !!

Peppy is right.... Love and peace. As for Britain, if I'd been Paul I'd have upped sticks......they ignore his contribution to world culture here, his fantastic family values, his wonderful songs, his charitable work, his standing amongst those in his profession and throughout the arts, his great marriage and his bringing up hard working, decent kids and slam him for just breathing and daring to make music. Those who think this will change here in the UK when hepasses on are seriously fooling themselves. He could cure all known cancers and put all of his 600 million smackers in a trust fund for the NSPCC and he'd still get nowt but ridicule and contempt from 95% of the trolls and sheep here. I see history as something which happened 50, 100, 1000, 10000 years ago or further, most people see history as something that happened five years ago or in most cases five minutes......Macca is like something off the Bayeux Tapestry to these people...and they're just not interested, especially now he's been seen to have flopped vocally on two of the biggest events in British/World TV history. The hole has been dug here and his career has been planted in it.....only a few of us will stand over it and weep. He just needs to change things, go smaller and do the things which will allow him to continue performing for a five or ten more years. If that means that certain people cannot see him live then sadly.....I never saw Sinatra, or The Beatles, Elvis or Laurel and Hardy.....sometimes you just have to accept that it just ain't gonna happen. You can still watch the DVD's and listen to the music though.

Thank you Daisy Linethemup......it's not that there's anything wrong with loving and supporting Paul, but sometimes you have to be cruel etc And at the moment I worry that he's surrounded by too many brown-nosers who have their gushing comments on repeat. He needs to take stock and plan the next move very carefully. I have given my humble opinion on Paul's next moves to help out and I'm going to add two more words to what I've said.....MAX CLIFFORD!! He is a Macca, Beatle fan and top British publicist....and he needs to be brought on board stealthily to try and resurrect as much of Paul's reputation here in the UK as he can.....Macca needs a lot more postive spin and his team just ain't cutting it! All the artists who appeared (to mime) at both ceremonies have had massive surges (surprise surprise) in their record sales.....in some cases a thousand per cent, wonder what the figures are for Paul?
