Wings Over America & Rock Show DVD Reissue CONFIRMED
-
just ordered it from Amazon.com..not sure if it is cheaper in the end than Amazon.co.uk with delivery, import fees and all to Denmark..but I didn't want to wait any longer..
-
I agree with many of you here that Wings Over America is way overpriced. I am waiting to buy Rock Show . For those who haven't seen Wings Over the World, it consists of little behind the scenes clips from places like Scotland, Australia, U.S,, coupled with many of the songs that are seen in Rock Show. In other words, if you get Rock Show DVD, you pretty much have Wings Over the World DVD as well, that is unless they have re-edited Wings Over the World from what I saw years ago.

I am really disappointed and surprised Rockshow DVD is not part of WOA deluxe edition. I am sure it is marketing ploy to help sales of the stand alone DVD but I think they of could included it in WOA deluxe as well as separately. I would of been happy to pay additional cost for deluxe and I think it would of been a great selling point for WOA deluxe. Also the CD of 8 tracks of just different live recordings of tracks already on original album is pretty poor for bonus material.
Just be happy that Rockshow is even being released at all and in terms of the bonus tracks, there really wasn't much else they could have included besides the soundchecks which would have been awesome!
I agree - anyone who complains about this after all the years we've had to go without it, I leave you with this

wow, I agree! I'm really looking forward to the Bluray..especially to Bluebird, I've Just Seen A Face, Call Me Back Again and Silly Love Songs..the live versions are kicking the ass of the orignal versions..
-
OK so I placed my order on Amazon for both WOA and Rockshow.............against my better judgement! Way over priced but could not resist

I thought the same when I saw the concert. How much better live than on record, especially songs from At the Speed of Sound.

Damn! That's better than my laserdisc. They selling tickets to this thing yet? I haven't seen anything in my area yet.

I also think WOA deluxe is overpriced especially compared to previous releases in the archive series. I know it has lots of extras like books etc in the package but as for the music it is pretty poor. 8 tracks already on the original album just from different concert. Surely there must of been something else in the vaults. Now if Rockshow DVD had of been included it would of made all the difference.

Indeed - it's as if the layout MPL team has gone in overdrive, whereas the audio research team sent in a sick note ... The entire remasters deluxe series (which I've been enjoying very much) has been a bit like this, but the proposed WOA rerelase pushes this imbalance to the extreme. Is it an experiment in seeing in how far they can go? Or is it just an attempt to grab as much money as possible before the records label market totally collapses?

I still am not seeing anywhere to pre-order Rock Show on Amazon (the US site). Has someone found a link? Where? As for the WOA price, I'm OK with the $95 pre-0rder price. The set has 4 books, 3 CDs and a DVD, so that amounts to about $12 for each element. That seems all right. $140 is too much. Still excited for this set. It looks as beautifully designed as Ram.

The 4 books alone are probably worth around $100 and then you have the music. There wasn't much else that they could've added music wise except for probably soundcheck stuff which would have been wonderful. However there isn't much else that you could except in terms of bonus tracks for a live album. If Rockshow had been included people would have whined that they'd have to spend $140 just to get Rockshow so it's good that it's being released on its own.

Too bad that $95 pre-order price isn't available anymore.

Well the deluxe set is already dropping down the sales rankings. I think the price will come down soon, too, to stimulate purchases. But I'm still wondering: Is is possible to pre-order the Rockshow Blu-ray yet? I'm not seeing it listed on Amazon in the U.S. Why not, I wonder???
