THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
-
Not to jump ahead, but on another forum, someone has seen copies of these new releases, and the little card inside advertises that the next two will be: Tug Of War Pipes Of Peace

In a year or so. I actually think the bonus disc for Pipes of Peace will be better than the actual album.

That's very disappointing news. I was hoping for Wild Life & Red Rose Speedway.

On the contrary, I can hardly wait for this one. Would've loved London Town/Back to the Egg but am supremely excited about Tug of War/Pipes of Peace. Tug of War is still his best solo album, in my view, and by some margin. Hopefully some good outtakes with his celebrated collaborators of the time. But, one step at a time.

I wouldn't have minded London Town & Back To The Egg either really. As a Wings fan, I'd just like to see their full catalogue released in the deluxe format. There are some really good songs on both Tug Of War & Pipes Of Peace, but I find whole period is a bit of a bore and holds no interest for me personally.

There are some great demos from the Tug Of War / Pipes Of Peace period, which is probably a major reason these are slated to be next. Plus many unreleased songs, such as: Stop, You Don't Know Where She Came From [aka Take Her Back, Jack] Unbelievable Experience Boil Crisis Give Us A Chord, Roy Seems Like Old Times (full band version) Hear Me Lover (later incorporated into "The Pound Is Sinking") Another song I haven't heard called: Turkey and Peacock A different version of: Simple As That I'm sure quite a bit more. Sorry about this, we still have the new Archive discs to absorb!

LOVE a few of those! Especially the 1st two. I wish these would be released in chronological order. Heck...maybe he'll rerelease NEW...oh wait...

I remember the bad old days when artists just released their LPs and we bought them and enjoyed them, then watched them in concert as they toured to promote them. A more simple time. Now, CDs are released, then re-released multiple times to get fans to buy the same product over and over and over and over again. I already bought all these when they came out. Not buying them again.

I've been disappointed with the bonus material for all the deluxe editions with no exception. I have the feeling they're saving the best rarities from each album for another project.

What if they add a bonus disc, "Live From Albuquerque 2015"?

I keep thinking the same thing about the George Harrison reissues. Usually just ONE bonus track on each CD! And that Early Takes collection still just scratched the surface. There is so much more from Paul in the vaults, but I suspect he's trying to be careful not to put things out that will diminish his reputation. The one exception so far has been McCartney II, where it was as complete as any of us could have hoped. Other than that, he seems determined just to have the "best of the rest" as bonus material. I'm sure he knows that so much of "the rest" is already in collectors' hands as bootlegs anyway, sometimes in excellent quality. But still, you may be right: maybe there's a limited edition boxed set of rarities coming down the line, who knows!

_________________________________________________________________________ I also was hoping for London Town and Egg to come out next. There is so much potential material from this period...Paul and Wings actually toured so the DVD portion would be great to see/hear all those songs especially from Egg. Quite a few unreleased songs from the period. I'm not complaining that we know that Tug of War/Pipes of Peace is next but i'm hoping that we don't have to wait 5 years for Londontown and Back to the Egg. Wildlife and Red Rose Speedway is also needed badly. The whole Stevie Wonder / Michael Jackson material doesn't excite me that much. Paul go so much exposure during that time anyway.

I quite liked the bonus disc for Ram. You could be right though, there's a ton of unreleased material from the Wildlife/Red Rose Speedway period, as well as the London Town/Back to the Egg sessions.Who knows how these will make their way into "The Archive"? If not in Deluxe Editions. Maybe we'll finally see an expanded, deluxe Official release of Cold Cuts!

I recall reading a post outlining the project here from someone who seemed to know what he was talking about, which seemed to indicate that at some point, there would be some archive related releases that would be completely (or primarly) b-sides and/or unreleased tracks...and not based on a passed released album

I bet on this Best Buy give away, it will be to send away for it.

JEjejeje, that's true!! I guess PoP will include a remastered version of Twice In A Lifetime... I would buy the LP just for that song!! I love it, but the track is not very well produced, is like a semi-produced demo.

Then I'll buy every re-issue again and again and again!

Well, it certainly wasn't me because I never know what I'm talking about but I suspect it was the albums #38 to #42 that were being referred to? http://wogew.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/mccartney-archives-collection-schedule.html .

I think that is what I saw - thanks a lot. Also, I wonder if (provided things pan out somewhat similar to what is outlined here) the Off the Ground release will include the full 'complete works' version (I hope so despite having all the songs on b sides)

I would say highly unlikely. I think someone was dreaming (or hoping) when they put this list together, after the first several. Multi-CD reissues of the live albums? Linda's album?? Holly Days??? Paul's manager has already said there will only be something like 8 to 10 total Archive releases. And Concord / Hear Music has already re-released several of the later albums as straight reissues: Off The Ground, Run Devil Run, Driving Rain, and Chaos, at least. I think there's a chance for some of the albums to come out with a bonus disc in a smaller package, like: Wild Life, Red Rose Speedway, London Town, Back To The Egg, Flowers In The Dirt, Flaming Pie. Maybe a DVD if we're lucky. Not sure beyond that.
