I love this stuff! That would be absolutely incredible live...I don't know if he could pull off "Back Seat of My Car" these days...I think the time passed about five years ago.

I think we should all take the opportunity to see him now, regardless of the setlist. We really don't know how much longer he'll be doing this, and in 20 years, some of us will really hate ourselves for not seeing that last show because he didn't play I Will. That said, I would still love to see setlist changes, but I'd take the opportunity when it's available.
___________________________________________________________ FlowersOnTheRun, Nancy basically said the same thing and it is the biggest argument for me to stop being stubborn and just go see the "musical genius" I've been following for close to 60 years. Just hopes he add 2-3 songs that will help me change my mind. I think he added "I've Just Seen a Face" on his last Japan show. That is certainly a step in the right direction.

Anyone else dissapointed he isn't opening with Sgt. Pepper right now? No brainer to me.
Yes, since it's the 50th anniversary, that would seem logical! But when was Macca ever logical? :

BJ, they censored D i c k e n s?!
________________________________________________________ You're exactly right...that was the name that was intended. Not sure what that was about.

As far as Solo songs, I for the life of me can't understand "Four Five Seconds" and Temporary Secretary.
Not as hard to figure out as you think. Seconds is his biggest hit in over 30 years. Listen to how he sometimes introduces Secretary. He'd heard DJ's playing it. It comes down to acceptance and relevance.
_______________________________________________________ Macca84 I get it and your points have some validity. I keep thinking of Paul's answer several years ago to the question...how do you pick your setlist. Remember his answer (I'm paraphrasing) "I think to myself...what would the audience want to hear". At least in the US, the audience is going to be overwhelmingly 55 years and older. People in that age bracket are all about nostalgia and they definitely are not following the Billboard charts or going to Dance Clubs. If Paul keeps them in the setlist the overwhelming percentage of the audience are going to be looking at each other...well you know the look I'm trying to describe...the wtf look! At least songs like Put It There, This One, Little Willow, Young Boy etc. while not instantly recognizable, his real audience can really relate to the lyrics. They are the audience who are buying the tickets. They are People who have children, who have lost love ones, who are celebrating anniversaries etc. etc. Paul has so many relevant songs with great mature lyrics from Chaos, MAF, Flaming Pie, Flowers, Tug of War that he is ignoring over the 2 songs you reference. Paul is arguably one of the top 10 recognize people on the planet so he shouldn't be worrying about relevance or acceptance in my opinion. By the way, as a hard core fan, I really like McCartney 2. For me, I liked Temporary Secretary for its quirky nature but it would probably be my 6 or 7 favorite song on the album.

_________________________________________________ Flowers On the Run, I've seen a few proposed setlists similar to yours here and I would drive miles and miles to go to a Macca show like this. Problem is that it would take some work and rehearsing. Paul has the Band and creative people to pull it off, but he just doesn't seem to have that kind of energy anymore. As others have said, resting on his laurels. Such a shame. You would think that at his age, his "legacy" would be the primary motivation and that he would want a give a more diverse and relative new Setlist. His music catalog are like children to him (I think he said this years ago) and he would have a drive at this late stage of his career to sing more songs that he has never or rarely performed in past tours.

__________________________________________________________ Thanks oobu24. Love Neil's and Paul's expressions. Like you say, they really like and admire each other's music. Wouldn't shock me if Neil made a guest appearance at one of the US shows if the location and time was convenient. Not sure why Paul didn't add "Road" to the Setlist. He seems to be able to sing it well even with his 2016/2017 voice. Maybe it's because I have been just listening to Disc 2 of Flowers in the Dirt but it wouldn't shock me if Elvis Costello made a guest appearance at one of the US Shows like Madison Square Garden. They could easily do a couple of their songs from Disc 2. Now that would be a show I would love to be at. The great thing is that it would force Paul to do a couple Solo songs that he has never done live or only done on the Flowers tour. One can only dream that it would happen and that it would be at the show you attended.

Funny with us discussing solo songs...on our local Breakfast with The Beatles (WXRT-Chicago) they just played Spinning on an Axis. I was shocked...although she does play a FULL range of songs!

Haha that's funny! I was actually listening to "Your Way" this morning. I love that song.

WixRocks!:
Take it Away would be incredible. That sits plenty low in his register that it would really showcase what voice 2017 Sir Paul still has. I think it would have to come early though. It would be a good replacement for "Temporary Secretary"...I find myself saying that on here a lot lately...can you tell which song I want out the most?
haha. Temporary had its moment. It's not the type of song that can stick for that long. A few shows, sure, but 2 years is a bit excessive
Totally agree with you both!

I had to Google that song. I remember the title, but had no idea what album it was on or how the song went! ops:

Forgot that one too. I guess I need to pull out that CD and listen to it again. It's not one of my favorites, probably because he was with she who shall not be named then and several of the songs were written for her.
