s**t, just realised he truly dropped 'Here, There and Everywhere'. He makes all the wrong decisions to add or drop lol...
Seriously he does. I wonder if the setlist will change just a little when he gets to the United States. Time will tell.

You guys and your bathroom runs! I have been to many many concerts starting in 1970 and the only time I ever went to pee was in 1974 during Ravi Shankar's Indian music during George's concert!
______________________________________________________ Nancy, I especially needed a good laugh after seeing the 2nd Japan Setlist. As usual, you get me roaring in laughter. I never saw George's concert live in 1970 but I saw clips of Ravi Shankar's portion. Now that would put you to sleep.

https://live.line.me/channels/73/broadcast/2714854 Minute 15:20 Someone asks Paul wether he'll be playing any some from Flowers in The Dirt on this tour leg, and he says that they planned to do so, but they haven't rehearsed it yet.
Translation: he can't be shagged.
______________________________________________________ Isn't part of the definition of "Rehearsing" is to do it "before the tour begins". From everything I saw, he did "zero" rehearsing with the band before the Japan shows. That's why they can just throw additional songs like "I Want to Be your Man" and "Birthday" without rehearsing. They can do those songs in their sleep.

With a new cd on the way, the U.S. should get a "preview" (song or two) from it I'd imagine.

WixRocks!:
I've only had to leave during a Paul concert twice...and both were due to my persistence in drinking a much larger drink than I should have I missed the beginning of "Day Tripper" at FedEx Field (bolted out as soon as Hey Jude was done) and I missed Band on The Run on the 2nd night in DC last year...you could say I was Bladder on the run... But back to the setlist! ops: Paul could pretty much get away with murder on the second song. BUT it has to be uptempo and there needs to be little to no gap between the first and second song, that's why "Save Us" works. It's basically functioning as a three minute recovery period for seeing Paul McCartney (probably for the first time) and hearing "A Hard Day's Night" by one half of its creative team.
Wix, you are on fire tonight! "Bladder on the run!" It helps that I don't drink and I go right before the show starts! Trying to think what I would like him to open with. 2013 and 2014 was Eight Days A Week This is the tour I missed in 2005 with Magical Mystery Tour as the opener: https://www.paulmccartney.com/live/atlanta-0 2002 was Hello Goodbye which was cool. 1993 was Drive My Car 1990 was Figure Of Eight 1976 was Venus and Mars/Rock Show/Jet which would be to die for in 2017!
___________________________________________________ WixRocks, The "Bladder on the Run"...classic. Besides the Philadelphia shows I was also at the FedEx Field show. I remember he did Michelle that night in honor of Michele Obama. As far as openers for 2017, if he is going to play Sgt. Peppers reprise on the setlist anyway, it makes a great opener. Not one of Paul's greatest songs but the music to start off the show is perfect. The 1st timers who are primarily boomers are coming to the show mainly for nostalgia purposes and to hear the Sgt. Pepper music to start the show fulfills that nostalgia perfectly. Everyone know the song if they grew up with Beatles's music.

If he's gonna be playing a John song like AHDN as an opener, how about Ticket to Ride as the opener? It's well known, up tempo, Paul could sing it.

Ospreylady:
Anyone seen a set list of what he sang in Japan?
Ospreylady, If you google Paul McCartney 2017 Japan Shows, you can get the setlist. The first show was somewhat abbreviated, so the more complete setlist would be the 2nd or 3rd show in Tokyo.

setlist.fm, just type "Paul McCartney" in the search bar and you'll get the 3 shows that have occurred so far

He also opened with Venus & Mars in 2010. Would love to see it done again this year as the opener, or Hello Goodbye

But he needs to do it in it's entirety & he needs to do it correctly...dark stage... until he starts. (Venus & Mars) Like this:

Anyone else dissapointed he isn't opening with Sgt. Pepper right now? No brainer to me.

Just want to apologize to the Paul fans for my tirade here after seeing the 2nd Japan setlist. I want to go to the Tampa show and I am so frustrated. Actually, I have no problems with his Beatles' signature songs. I understand why he needs to play them for the 1st timers and that is why they are signature songs. I also don't have any problem with the true Paul Post Beatles signature songs like Band on the Run and Live and Let Die. These 2 fit perfectly where they are placed. Even though I have heard all of these songs at about10 shows in the past, it's never bad to hear them live again. The one exception is Paul's own "Maybe I'm Amazed". It is certainly a signature song and one of his best Post Beatles' songs. The only problem is that Paul's 2017 voice can't handle it. Why doesn't he just accept it and put another great song in that slot that he can sing. I also don't mind the tribute songs for John and George Harrison. Something is one of George's signature songs and Paul/Band does a great job on it. I also really like Here Today no matter how many times I have heard it. The lyrics are perfect and it is a Solo Paul song which is a plus. My problem with the Setlist and frankly with even going to the Tampa show are the majority of the secondary songs. As far as Solo songs, I for the life of me can't understand "Four Five Seconds" and Temporary Secretary. The whole "people won't recognize it" as the theory for not including Solo songs goes completely out the window. The people in the arenas will just be looking at themselves like what is this song. More importantly, both songs don't represent the "mature Post Beatles' Paul. The lyrics are absolutely stupid. Why wouldn't Paul want people to hear some of his best Solo songs with heartfelt and smart lyrics like Put It there or Little Willow. Or for more uptempo songs like This One or Young Boy. Why wouldn't Paul be so proud of those type songs. Some casual Beatle fans would walk away thinking...that was a wonderful song that I don't remember from Paul after the Beatles. Other solo songs that he just doesn't sing well anymore (and way overplayed) are Let Me Roll it and Jet. If they are not signature songs (and I don't believe they are) and he can't sing them well at this point why have them in the 2017 Setlist when he has so many other potential great songs to play that he has never or rarely done in the past. And why not throw some bones to the true harder core fans. Now on the Beatles secondary songs. I totally don't understand the "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Mr. Kite" choices when he has classic (almost signature songs) like Penny Lane, For No One, I Will and Here There & Everywhere" not included. Are you kidding me? Furthermore, Birthday, Love Me Do and In Spite of All the Danger are not in the same universe compared to the 4 songs I just listed. I could get more specific but in general this is why I'm so disappointed with the setlist. Doesn't the master himself want to showcase his greatest, most mature songs. He is English after all... from the same country that gave the world Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Dickens etc. Why would he want to include such trite stuff like Four Five Seconds, Temporary Secretary and I Wanna Be Your Man. These low quality songs taking up important setlist slots just baffles me. He has great great songs that he just ignores. It does take some time and work to "perfect" a Setlist from a Catalog as impressive as his. It just seems like he doesn't want to put the time or energy to do it. Anyway, I will see what happens when he starts doing his US shows in July. If he or other people close to him read these posts (from his own Website) and makes some of the changes we are proposing, I will go to the Tampa show even if I have to pay extra from a Post Sales source. But I won't change my mind if he doesn't make any changes.

I think we should all take the opportunity to see him now, regardless of the setlist. We really don't know how much longer he'll be doing this, and in 20 years, some of us will really hate ourselves for not seeing that last show because he didn't play I Will. That said, I would still love to see setlist changes, but I'd take the opportunity when it's available.

Yes, since it's the 50th anniversary, that would seem logical! But when was Macca ever logical? :
