Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

Potentially 5 US shows in October (first time in years he would tour that month...), 7 shows or so in Japan and Australia in November and the usual 3 or 4 - sigh - gigs in Europe in December
If it turns out to be true, I wonder why so few shows in Europe, both in June and December?
I wonder about that too!

As fas as Paul's touring schedule goes, I see a pattern. Latin America in the spring, North America and Europe in the summer (and sometimes also in the autumn and winter), etc. Japan is another example: in 1993, 2002 and 2013, concerts during the second and third weeks of november. The 2002 Australian concerts were scheduled to happen after Japan, so I have a feeling it will be the same this year. If the Australian shows are announced, my bet is they will happen between november 23 and 30.

Ho, wait, I just said that IF he's going to do it like that it will not be that much of an exhausting scheme.

How accurate has etcetera been with a scoop?
Hit and miss for me. A lot of educated guessing or telling about things after it has been rumoured already. The 'inside-inside' information he gave ("McCartney had vocal surgery", "McCartney has 100 songs in the can", "McCartney is working on a guitar concerto") we will never know what turned about to be truth. It's true that everything can chance, but that's also a safe excuse... Not saying that I will be surprised if he will tour that period of course.
who is etcetera?
The codename of a defector from MPL who had high security clearance with them. He is seeking asylum in Australia, a nation with sufficient grievances against Maccaland to grant the request.
LOL. That is one of the (intentionally) funniest comments I've erer read on this board! Superb!!!
Thanks! Glad it got a laugh. Here's hoping Macca does Australia soon.

It's a bit late now that they are announced but I told you Japan was a done deal!!!!

Where did the 5 U.S. shows in October come from?

Where did the 5 U.S. shows in October come from?
I have no idea but how doe these five sound? Atlanta, Tampa, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Albuquerque, and Los Angeles. No basis for those whatsoever other than makes sense since he hasn't played there lately thing. Anywhere in Southern California works well with media promotion of the new album.

I can live with that list of cities!!

If he's going to promote the new album, then he'll probably do major markets. I think it will be probably Tampa, Los Angeles, New York (The Garden), Chicago, and Las Vegas.

Are you hearing anything about those 5 US shows that moptops mentioned?

Maybe New York. He just played there. In my neck of the woods, he will play Denver and Phoenix. He always does, and those are major markets.

That seems reasonable. No way he is doing another legit New York show this year...maybe something small for promotion like in 2007. The Garden is NOT happening this year...

I agree. He just did two major concerts in NYC.

sounds awesome to me : )

Hope and pray he plays in Charleston S.C. (too small a venue?), Columbia, S.C., Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro or Winston-Salem, N.C., or environs, next year

I hope he'll announce lots of European dates soon. Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin, Copenhagen and Stockholm... there's lots of places for him to play here in Europe. 20 concerts in North America and only 3 concerts in Europe... that's not fair

Paul has played Columbia, S.C. before, so it could happen again, ie him playing S.C.

I have wondered about Charleston for years. It's a nice facility there but a little on the small side or so I have heard. Consdering how often he has played Atlanta and the fact that he hasn't been there in four years, that's a much better bet.
