Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours
-
I've got a feeling more dates will be announced after the upcoming three show run.
-
I would think that he'll take his usual break in the Hamptons for the rest of August and eary September or until Beatrice has to go back to school. I wouldn't expect too many more but would be happily wrong.
-
from Beatle examiner Though Paul McCartney's Out There! tour only has eight dates left on the schedule between now and the end of the year, a McCartney spokesman left the door open and told Beatles Examiner on July 27 that more dates could be in the wings. ?Have to wait and see,? the spokesman told us in response to our inquiry of whether the remaining Out There! Tour dates were all that was left.
-
Could also just be leaving the door open in case they decide to add dates.

I've long since given up trying to work out the logic behind Paul's tours frankly zig zagging all over the place cant be cost effective surely, indeed in my minds eye over at MPL towers i see Paul with a large table top map,a few counters,he then puts on she's loves you starts wiggling and then when the chorus hits hits throws the counters over his shoulder and then tours where they land it does seem that random.
Yes it does. I still think a lot of it has to do with the guarantee; I am pretty sure that Paul requires his money up front whether the shows sell out or not, so it might all just be a factor as to which cities/promoters are willing to pay him to play in their city. You would think that there is no risk involved, but not every show sells out completely, despite what the press releases want you to think. Tulsa obviously thought they could do well with 2 shows this time around, but the 2nd one was NOT a sell0ut until only a few days before showtime, I think. And very few VIP tix were sold for the 2nd night; smallest one I have ever been to in the US. On the other hand, Ottawa was a quick sellout from the beginning and was a very tight ticket on the day, that city could probably have sold out a 2nd night, I think. And there are still people in the US who have never seen him live, believe it or not. I had four friends who were seeing Paul for the very first time at the Milwaukee concert. Imagine that, somehow missing out on seeing Paul, even after knowing me all these years.

I think Out There will find its way In There inside the city limits of Atlanta Source: My Hopeful Thinking!

What about Mexico? And we do buy lots of tickets...
-
I remember seeing somewhere that it is like a million dollars guaranteed for him to play somewhere. Maybe more by now since that was a few years ago and I have no personal knowledge if that was right or wrong

They sold standing room tickets the 2nd night in Tulsa (wild crowd). Also the second night Paul asked whos from Tulsa, whos from OK, whos not from OK but from somewhere else. The last question resulted in almost the entire front half of the floor cheering - followed by the rest of the arena booing us. Pretty funny! I thought the guarentee was 2 million. 12 million for a private show

he does that at most shows. Guys next to me at Tulsa 2 got their tickets that day or the day before, they were shocked that such good seats were available.

I don't know if it's ever been published. I have heard that Springsteen negotiates a guarantee and also an overall percentage of the gate, and then he gets paid whatever amount is greater. It's possible that Paul does the same thing, rather than a set price per show.

Yeah, I don't think $12 million is the cost. Sounds like McCartney generally does not do private parties. IF he does, $1 million to $2 million will get his attention.

That birthday party was 10 years ago and Paul requested that the money go to charity. He did another private party in Vegas last year for some other rich dude but we don't know how much he was paid or if he requested that it go to a charity: It is unclear how much Mr. McCartney earned for his performance, but music industry executives say that his asking price is well north of $1 million. http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2012/11/19/what-happens-in-vegas-a-buyout-birthday-blowout/?_r=0 Plus these are still all numbers for private parties; we still don't know (or at least I don't ) what his guarantee is for a concert for paying customers. I still believe he has one, tho, and that it factors in to what cities he performs in.

I dunno. I suppose it depends on the market. I think he charges more for the USA, but maybe not. $2 million a concert seems about right. The article on the canceled show in NM last May said the promoter guaranteed $1 million and obviously that was not sufficient to secure the concert. In 1993, when McCartney played New Mexico, I think he had a lower fee, since tickets were $35 and he had about 30,000 at that stadium. So my thoughts are McCartney must get $2 million for a concert.

Has anyone heard any rumours about a Vegas date for October?

No, other than rumours posted above thread about 5 more US dates, but that so far has only come from one source and listed no cities--have you heard something about Vegas?

Is there? I'm heading over there to see Ringo's shows on the 22nd and 23rd of Sept, straight after McCartney in Tokyo. Hell - could I handle a month in Vegas???
