You mean my buddy Marshall? Totally, just tell me when and where you want the next concert to be and he'll arrange that for us.

According to the latest edition of Mojo, the new album will be released this summer. Honestly, I don't think Paul should tour until then. IMO, it would bittersweet to see him in, say, April with the old set list and then a couple of months later he launches a new tour with brand new songs.

Figured I'd repost this as 2013 is finally here. This is the article that talks about Paul's new album, the planned 2013 tour, and the WOA reissue. It's from June, but a good refresher! http://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartneys-manager-details-new-album-and-catalog-reissue-plans-for-2013/

Anyone else thinking with the re-release of Rockshow, Paul might open with Venus and Mars/Rockshow?

He didn't do much promotion for any of the other releases. Gee, maybe those "SALESMEN" over at the new pm.com should come up with theis type of an idea! Promote it in concert! Yeah.

Well he was opening with MMT with the rerelease of the film, also Hello Goodbye from the album. An 5 songs from BOTR with the rerelease OTR tour. Kept Maybe I'm Amazed in with the rerelease of McCartney. I was expecting some songs from Ram in November though. Hoping for V&MRS opener, along with Beware My Love and Hi Hi Hi.

He's opened with Venus and Mars/Rockshow before, and randomly seems to throw songs into the setlist. They sometimes coincide with re-releases, and sometimes don't. He's kept those BOTR songs in the setlist even when "promoting" other re-releases, mind you. If you look at his setlists since the Wings days until present, you'll see the pattern and see that he really just recycles songs he appears to be comfortable playing live, and every once in a while chucks in a surprise song or two.

I think in Paul's mind (I know I've never been there) he thinks that Band on The Run is just on this Platinum untouchable level between The Beatles catalog and the rest of his post-beatle work. His heart really seemed into promoting the remastering of Band on the Run in 2010. He did television appearences and he did and songs to the show. "1985" has become a staple since March '10 and "Bluebird" appeared on the South American leg fall 2010 right when the release was. However, Paul did not continue this theory with the remainder of remasters. The only exception being that he added "Maybe I'm Amazed" when the McCartney album was remastered...but I think that may have been coincidence!
-
I think all of the BOTR additions have been coincidental to the remasters release. He has ALWAYS liked the album & it did get great reviews. But now some of the songs have been around too long!

Honestly, the only one I'm tired of is Mrs. Vandebilt. It lost its flare in St. Louis for me. Of course, that was the fifth time I've heard it but...who'd of ever dreamed we'd be complaining about Mrs. Vandebilt being in the set too long?!?
-
But anyway...do we have any rumors at all? We know we'll have a studio album by the end of the year and a tour to follow....no specifics worth giving attention to from what I can see?
-
Yeah, it would be cool to hear about some possible McCartney shows/tours in 2013.

Although I'm all for keeping "Mrs. Vandebilt" in the show, I definitely get your point. It's gratifying that such an obscure song has been a five-year highlight of Paul's tours.
