Anyone notice Paul dresses to the left? Maybe only the guys will understand that one but the girls should get a kick out of it Plus, it's still cool to hear some unreleased instrumentals from Paul as we're waiting for the show. He's been using them since 1993 and I wish he would release them already. Anyone from around Greenville/upstate SC?
How do you mean 'dresses to the left'? I don't know if it's unreleased instrumentals. In Arnhem, December 9th 2009, he used mashups. I believe.

Did anybody else see the guy in Flr 3 that started climbing over the front 4 rows right before the encores trying to get an album signed? I've never seen Brian look so pissed. He even had the photographer take his picture before he threw him out. Guy had been waving his album in my face along with an uncapped sharpie for about 10 minutes when all of a sudden his buddy standing behind hime told him in a thick southern draw"F*** it, go get your autograph. Just climg up there Go!" Was too funny!
This is another reason why I really dislike the whole album-signing business, it makes people get so stupid about it sometimes... :

I saw him......I also saw one of the tour guys escort him to one of the venue guards to be thrown out.

so sweet when he flashed the peace sign and then clasped his hand over his heart sending peace and love to the audience...he is so sweet (he could be sassy, too, playful and mischievous, showing that 'liddypool' flair)

[quote="RADIANCE"]I hadn't thought bout the water thing until you said something... But that's true! I never saw him take a drink. How does he DO that?! Yes, it is quite amazing. I do some public speaking every now and then, couldn't do it without a glass of water handy as well as a refill available. His ability to pull that off is a testament to the great shape his voice is in.

at one point in charlotte, paul and rusty suddenly pranced on stage waving the british union jack flag (rusty) and the n.c. state flag (paul) in a spirited march which nearly raised the roof yet again at first, i thought rusty brandished the rebel confederate flag the colors and design are a little alike. tom petty, i recalled, had two young women appear on his stage holding a gigantic rebel 'stars n bars' flag as he sang his song 'southern accent' (petty hails from florida). one of the girls was black, but even without that, one would imply tom petty wasn't condoning the slavery accepting aspect many associate with the stars and bars, but the patriotic south loving aspect. "i got my own way of tawkin' he sings in that song, he's proud to be from the south (despite everything). i was so proud that paul gave 100 percent, paul and band gave their all, obviously, in charlotte, even though it's not one of the world's great cities like new york, london, paris, etc. oh you could tell from the get go paul was completely into rocking out and serenading and entertaining us with anecdotes, little dances, various impish mischievous sassy displays--he was filled with the wonderful spirit of the desire to entertain, as were his band and crew. oh and we loved you so, macca my dear, my butter cup, my sweet baby

Wow! We LOVED the show. I had high expectations, and they were exceeded. My daughters had a great time. My wife has always been of the opinion that the Beatles are simply "fine", and she has been less enthusiastic about Wings and Paul solo. Well, she has been raving about the show since (we see a lot of live music in all sizes of venues, so she has a good basis for comparison). I'll admit that I have always enjoyed the Wings and Paul songs that were radio hits in the 70s and 80s, but I never felt compelled to buy more than a compilation (Wingspan a few years ago). The "deep cuts" he played (had never heard Ninteen Hundred and Eighty-Five, Highway, Dance Tonight, or Mrs. Vanderbilt) were as entertaining as the rest of the set. I can see why all you hardcores like 1985 so much - GREAT song. I'll have to go build up the Macca collection, now Anyway, I have my bands that I go see live year after year, and I know what it's like to get surprises/rarely played songs in the set. Glad all you hardcores got some nuggets, and the set really flowed perfectly. Paul's band is amazing. I really like all of them but LOVE that drummer. Every dang one of them was really having a blast up there, you could tell, but that drummer looked like he was having the time of his life. I loved his count off during A Day In the Life - really ratcheted up the intensity and one of those nice, unexpected touches that makes live music so thrilling. Last, I'd like to share my thoughts on what I know is a touchy subject with live music fans everywhere, not just on this board: sitting. I may be in the minority, but I believe it is possible, and not disrespectful, to completely get into and get off on the music/show while sitting down. In fact, I'd make the case that in some respects it's easier to absorb what's going on aurally and visually when you're sitting. Don't get me wrong, more often than not, I stand (further, I don't "dance", but usually my body is just sort of compelled to move and let my freak flag fly during a live performance). I think you kind of have to go with what's going on around you. I was in section 106, row C so had a great view. If anyone was sitting in section 3 or anywhere on the floor, I sure couldn't tell. Looked to me like everyone stood the whole time. I'm not saying there weren't sitters, but from my (slightly) elevated perspective (our seats were "even" with the 14th row on the floor), it looked like the whole floor was standing. The people around us sat a lot, and it looked the same on the opposite side of the arena. Personally, if the people in front of me are sitting, and the people behind me are sitting, I feel it's rude for me and my family to stand. I know some people don't see it that way (it's a ROCK show!!!), but I have enough experience at live shows to tell you all the sitters around me were very into the show, including the "deep cuts". No one was chatting or distracted - all eyes on the stage. Everyone yelled and clapped for every song. What I did to show my appreciation was stand between each song to give my accolades. To me, that shows enthusiasm and support but also allows me to be considerate of those around me who, "rightly" or "wrongly", choose to sit and focus on the show.

Excellent post. I believe you can enjoy a show and be enthusiastic without standing up all night. I am in my 50's and I did not stand for every song, mostly the ones that rocked ("Back in The USSR", "Helter Skelter", "1985" etc.) I did stand up and applaud after almost every song to show my appreciation also. My daughters (21 &19) were up a bit more but even in their seats they were "bopping" to the music. BTW - Paul gained two more Fireman fans (my daughters) after the concert. I personally believe if you buy floor seats you have to kind of expect to have people standing up. during the show, it is kind of a rock show thing.

HELLO EVERYONE! What a night!!! I had a such a great time and thought the show was AWESOME! Radiance, it was so nice meeting you too! My mom thought it was funny that when we both got to dancing and jumping, we went in sync! I am sorry for all the folks that had "sitters" when they wanted to stand. I was in F1 and we stood the whole time! It was GREAT! Great pictures everyone! Thank you for sharing! I will try to upload some if I can figure out how!
-
Yes Please need pics!! I take the worst pictures ever I hate all of mine!! You know you are a bad photographer when you make even Paul McCartney look bad!!!

Anyone have some good video from the Charlotte show? I miss Paulie!!

Hi all! I come home from one of the greatest nights of my life, to find our computer/internet crashed and my husband spent the last 2 days restoring everything so I could get back on here !!! Yes, I am having Paul withdrawals, been looking at my pics/videos' still in my camera....I will get a link up as soon as I get them all loaded. We were in FL1 Row L, pretty good view most of time, except when someone taller held up a camera or flashed peace signs, etc.....Still I managed to get some pretty good shots. And after my brother was told to stop videoing, I was careful to not go overboard on video clips. I just wanted a few memories to last me forever! I guess if I had been in the 1st couple of rows, it would have been impossible. I had a video of Paul calling us a "bunch of rockers" and then he commented on how it was about time to go home, but as I was looking at it in the camera, I accidentally hit the edit button and now it is gone! I honestly about cried. It was very clear and zoomed in, so i am sick about that. Oh well, I am not looking at them again, UNTIL I get them backed up somewhere!! I really hope he will add more dates in the fall, because after Wednesday, I just have to see him again!! It can't be my last time, it was only my 3rd show, but I have to say, it was the BEST. He sounded great and it is just unbelievable how he can rock like that for 3 hrs!!

Paullove61 - I know what you mean. I want more dates too. Gotta see him again soon. Need to start saving up for it again though. Paul can sure put a hurtin' on the wallet. HoneyPi - Here are a couple videos. I still have a few more to upload. http//www.youtube.com/user/RADIANCE423

Did anybody notice that during the second half of "Let Em In", Paul sang "open the damn door" instead of "open the door". Just curious if he has ever done this before.

Did anyone notice Paul mix up Desmond and Molly's names during the last bit of Obladi?

No I did not, was it after the audience sang a verse? Anyway, that was probably a slip of the toungue. He used "damn door" a couple of times so I don't think it was a mistake. - IMO

I don't think so either, I was singing along and noticed something didn't quite match up with Let 'Em In. Yes, Paul mixed them up after the audience sang and quickly lifted his hand motioning to switch the two names, pretty funny.
