Glad to hear he is changing up things a bit I just hope he shakes up the set list, and no I am not one who does not want to hear any Beatles, I love them, but drop in some more wings and obscure Beatles. You are always gonna have at least 8 songs that will not change.

I wonder if it will be similar to The Rolling Stones' "B - Stage" they had in 2005 and 2006. The center part of the main stage went up in the air, across the catwalk as the band played, and into a B stage at the end of the arena/stadium. They played 3 songs from that stage.

The Stones had that "B" stage in 1997 as well on the BRIDGES TO BABYLON tour. It was very cool!

Wow!! It's about time! Something fresh beyond the regular stage. Looking forward to seeing this!! Hope it's true!
-
a platform i like that
-
I was satisfied with the previous stage. Paul doesn't need such spectacular stages as the Stones since Paul's shows are not circus acts and the main focus is on the musical performance and not on the show elements. I liked the stage in 2005 though, even if I only got to see that on dvd.

Maybe Paul will run out there into the crowd with a wireless microphone and allow every fan the chance to sing one chorus of "Hey Jude" into the mic.
-
LOL that would be awesome!! I actually think if he did something like what Bruce does, it would be pretty sweet (you know, getting out on the catwalk and giving people high fives and everything). I could imagine that Paul's security staff would be pretty scared about that much contact with the crowd, but I think it would be awesome!!
-
That's REALLY exciting!!! It would literally put Paul OUT THERE into the audience!

I believe the article says that the platform will make it so Paul is closer to the audience, not one that TAKES him into the audience...big difference.

I want a chance at riding on the platform. With the money we pay for tickets, they should have rides included!

agreed. Plus isn't that just some sort of Google translation, and that might not be what the article actually says? but thanks KingMacca for posting that. I had seen it, but it was kind of confusing to read so I only skimmed it. and I thought you were referring to an interview that Paul himself did.

Here is the original newspaper article, in Portuguese: It mentions a closed rehearsal on May 03, not available to the public. I don't know what it's like in the U.S. and Europe, but in Brazil he usually goes to the stadiums the night before the actual concert for a closed rehearsal. I have witnessed that a few times, and I'll definitely be at the stadium on the evening of May 03. The article also mentions that the stage will start being built after a soccer match between Brazil and Chile on April 24. The equipment weighs 200 tons, there will be huge LED screens and the stage floor will include a "special effect". This articles does not mention what exactly that special effect is, but the Brazilian tour promoter had mentioned in a previous interview that there will be a platform which will bring Paul closer to the audience. I'm guessing it will be something similar to the one used in the 1993 tour during songs like "Let Me Roll It" and "Hey Jude", as you can see in this video:

I like the idea of bringing the platform back! But the way you describe it, it sounds like it could be as simple (and dangerous) as the piano lift from '05...that would technically bring Paul closer to the fans during those songs...

I knew it was you 5thBeatle, that posted that original article. I thought I read it before.
