I predict Paul will ha e some surprises tonight as well. He may have chose these songs for rehearsal to keep the fans guessing. I still think theres a chance magneto and titanium mand and all things must pass make the set.
I agree totally. They've obviously rehearsed tishloads of songs...but they'd wanna keep their powder dry for the opening night concert... Surely Dance Tonight, Sing The Changes get chopped. Maybe (hopefully) Rigby, Winding Road, LMRI. Possibly Vandebilt and Ob-La-Di, but these get a great reception. Got a Feeling? Helter Skelter? All My Loving? Fairly certain he's going to do the John and George tributes but substitute songs. Hell, if he was brave, he could easily free up 10 spots! I haven't been anticipating a McCartney concert like this for AGES!!!

I am wondering if he will do Blue suede Shoes for Memphis??? Possibility.

He loves Carl Perkins. He loves Elvis. He loves the song. It's Memphis. I'd say definitely. Especially since he didn't perform it the last time he was there.
-
I like it when he does songs he didn't sing the lead on, seems so different, exciting and new Man I can just imagine him singing the "Mr. Kite" song, would be cool. Was just listening to Sgt. Pepper cd again the other nite.

I am really likin the changes so far....Hi Hi HI really surprises me.

Probably (and is a pity) the setlist will be this. The only hope is for other little "New" add like "Alligator" and "On my way to home"
-
I'd say that's probably about spot on. I don't think it's that sad though...about half that list has never been heard by Japanese ears.
-
I think it will only be New and Queenie Eye, because those are the singles, and because I don't think it's necessary to include more New material. Remember there are still some pending songs: Silly Love Songs, No More Lonely Nights, Wanderlust, So Bad, Goodnight Tonight, to name a few. On the other side, we have the overused songs, which will never be removed from the set list: BITUSSR, All My Loving, Winding Road, Let It Be, Let Me Roll It, Lady Madonna. A lot of us have asked for these songs to be changed, at least on some dates, with Can't Buy Me Love, Please Please Me, For No One, Fixing a Hole, and many others. BTW, keeping My Valentine in the set list doesn't make sense anymore, it's a boring one.

I think we'll AT LEAST get New, Queenie Eye, Everybody Out There, and Save Us...that's kind of a given. When have any of those pending ones been mentioned as even being considered by Paul except Goodnight Tonight? All My Loving and Lady Madonna have been out of the set several times before. I doubt they'll be dropped for this Japan leg. MAYBE he'll drop "All My Loving"... My Valentine is a grey area. It's still fairly new, but it's not the newest single, and it is his current tribute to Nancy...but he could easily call New a tribute to Nancy. I'm interested to see if it sticks around. I wouldn't call it boring, but it was the beer run for the past two shows I've been to.

Well they've rehearsed Silly Love Songs and considered No More Lonely Nights in the past if I recall correctly. My Valentine needs to go, it really does not work in the setting of a stadium concert.
-
You both proved my point, wixrocks use it as a break, and cfergoid doesn't want it anymore. I tell you that, in the Estadio Azteca last year, it didn't work at all, maybe a bit, and only for the video, but it's really filling space for a better song.

By pending songs, I mean that many fans have asked for them, and that those songs are better than many others Paul has played over the years (English Tea, Here Today, My Valentine). Also, Silly Love Songs is a Macca basic, so it's really weird he played it only in the Wings Over The World Tour. All My Loving & Lady Madonna have been dropped several times? In the 2000's, All My Loving has been absent only in the US Tour, the '09 Summer Tour and the Good Evening Europe Tour. Lady Madonna was missing only in the US Tour. So I think they're overplayed, considering the Macca anthems would be only BOTR, Jet, Let It Be, Live and Let Die, Hey Jude & Yesterday. Those 6 songs are eternal in the set list, though Let Me Roll It & TLAWR are always in too, and Jet is lost in the current tour.

Beer run? Aren't you a bit young?

I am hoping that for the Japanese dates and his 2014 touring, he does many songs from the "NEW" album. The album is great in my opinion and to not showcase it, would be crazy. Early 2014 will be the 50th anniversary of the Beatles arriving to America to perform. For Paul to do a major tour in 2014 and showcase his new songs would just show the world what a fantastic career he has had. Here are the songs from NEW that I think he will be a "lock" he will do following by the songs I hope he will do: New (lock) Save Us (lock) Everybody Out There (Lock) Queenie Eye (Lock) Alligator (hope) I Can Bet (hope) Early Days (hope) Appreciate (hope) I think it would be amazing if he did 7 or 8 of the songs above and it would really help balance the setlist between Beatles, Wings and Solo. I know I would trave a long way to see Paul if he does something like this. The Setlist was getting to stagnate (same old, same old) for my taste. PS. Since he hasn't done them before, Maybe he could also add either "I Want to Hold Your Hand" or "She Loves You" to celebrate the 50th Anniversary. Both songs were big hits when they came to America in 1964. My preference would be "I Want to Hold Your Hand".

Not for me! I meant, it was the only time in those shows that you could see groups of people leaving for concessions/bathroom etc.

Don't think he'll do more than 4 from 'New' and as he''s not been to Japan for a while, I would expect the set to remain largely unchanged from the summer. Are there any reports of them in rehearsals?

Rehearsals for Japan began on Friday.
