Sound Check

Nancy R:
Question: Wonder what Fan On The Run and others who have seen 50+ soundchecks do with all those backpacks?!
I know what one wonderful fan did with three of those extra backpacks!

I have a soundcheck at Fenway for my family of 4, including two kids. Is there a good place to stand in line when they line you up in order to be in the front? If you are among the first in line, do you get to stop where you want, or do they lead you to where they want you to stand? Where is the right place to be in line if you want a good location?
My wife and I will also be at SC Fenway. This will be our first ever soundcheck! I will likely wear my McCartney Jersey...

Usually within a week of the show, you'll receive soundcheck instructions via an e-mail from "SLO Customer Service". Have a great time!!

^^ well they won't be laughing when they are replaced. It won't be long. "women they will come and they will go..." - Stevie Nicks
So you are inferring (or have knowledge) that some of the fans who go to a lot of concerts are groupies?
I have spoken my truth as I know it. I don't need anymore problems in my new life I have now. All I can say is I have already made the statement and it is clear what I have stated. I am not the only person who knows it. Thank you.??
I doubt they bother with the groupie experience anymore !-- anybody in Paul's band and Paul himself. However when I noticed Paul plays "You Won't See Me" in concert now, for some reason I thought, "He must fancy some chippie," and felt kind of jelly but that's not a big put down of the major music man, not at all. Married people can have crushes on someone, too. They're human.

Wonder if he will perform "My Love" there as requested by a dying fan and her husband. She said she would not make it there, but her husband would, and "My Love" has extra special meaning for the couple... so it will comfort her widower to hear Paul sing their special love song in concert. Yes, sadly, this brave lady stated she won't live to attend this concert

In Fresno, we all lined up after the appetizers, and then you just walked in at your own pace and stood wherever you wanted, behind the first section of the floor seating. Some people chose to sit in the bottom row of the lower tier.
They won't be able to do that at Fenway; the seats are too far away from the field and the rest of the group. The soundcheckers will be led onto the field and towards the rows that they will be allowed to sit in. Since it's a stadium, the first row of people will stretch out wider than it would in an arena. So daver, if you are worried about your kids being able to see over everyone and you want them to be in the first row of people, you should be ok, altho if you are farther back in the line, you may not be dead center. (if that makes any sense).
At Fenway SC in 2013 we were led to the area behind the first section of seats and had to stand during the soundcheck. We could walk around and change positions as long as we stayed behind that first section of seats.

We got lucky in St. Louis without knowing it. We were in the front row and in the center. Some of the "regulars" came later and ended up behind us and off to the sides.
Were you the one who had, I think a green special Macca shirt on at breakfast in St. Louis?
Yes, we were. My friend made the shirts. You stopped by our table.
That's right, great shirt! great show, horrible weather, it's coming back to me!
Are you saying you MET PAUL THREE TIMES??? How the heck did you do that?????????????????? That's the only thing on my bucket list - and that's been since 1964!!!Sharon

Hey, the 'made in China' white cooler they gave us at soundcheck - mine was falling apart as soon as we got it! the fabric on the top 'lid' part by the zipper was loose, about 3 inches of it pulling out of the zipper seam, and the inside net pocketing that has a velcro bit on it to make two pockets or one -- the velcro part on the bag side is hanging by a thread. My sister who is good w these kinds of things said we can easily repair w fabric glue? but sheesh. anybody else get these problems? brand new too!!

Can anyone tell me what the deadline is for returning this e-mail. One of our party may need to drop out. I may not know until the day before the concert. Don't want to see the ticket go to waste. From my understanding once a name is designated to the ticket, there can be no changes.

You're talking about the Hot Sound Package? It can be transferred to someone else, but both parties must be present to show I.D.s at the check-in point. So if that person can't be there, he or she is out of luck (and $1600)

Beaglesdad, when I have gone to soundcheck they check only the ID of the one who bought the tickets and the number of companions I think.. so if you find someone ready to go, they just have to enter w you, as the buyer. ie, my sister went w me, but I am the one who paid and my ID was the one they checked; there was no record of HER name at all -- she did get her purse checked!!! I just double checked w her and no one asked for her ID.. if I recall, they had a little clipboard too that probably showed buyer name and number of people for that buyer. so basically, the person would just have to pay YOU and be with you when you enter. Which should be easy enough to arrange.

I've heard of people getting back some of their investment by selling the ticket only. Which you should have received already and should be in a good enough section to be worth at least half of the soundcheck package cost. Maybe if the person has a somewhat common name you can find someone else with the same name to step in??

Checked with SLO. They said the original purchaser is the only one with the name on the tickets, so they original purchaser can find someone to fill in for the person that can't make it. No problem doing that!!

Correct. The only person who needs to show an ID is the original purchaser. The SLOTix rep has that name on her list plus how many tickets were purchased. So you can bring anyone you want, but that person must be with you in line when you check in.

This is how I got my ticket to the Philly soundcheck last year. I already had a friend going to soundcheck and a really bad ticket for me. Somebody here posted they had a soundcheck ticket for sale and I bought it. We met in line and I went in with him. I didn't have any problems selling my other ticket either. Didn't cause me any travel problems because I had already made arrangements. Good luck on getting it sold.
