I think europe/uk deserves these and many more dates....
now, quit fooling around Paul, get Back here in 2019
agreed-I'm sure we will get a summer tour next year
Agreed here too... we all love Paul and his music so it's only fair that others get a chance to see him in concert again!
Still not giving up hope however, that there may end up being a few (10 or less) shows in the US.. time will tell... but if we have to wait our turn until next year, that's ok too

ROTFLMAO!!

It’s too bad that when he was younger and could sing so well, he rarely toured. (I’m speaking about the U.S.: 1976, 1990, 1993) Then when he’s almost 60, he starts touring all the time!!

I just looked at the prices and the Hot Sound Package (which does not include dinner like in the U.S,) is only $880!!!
Why do we get charged $1600 for the same thing plus a lousy meal?!
And Front row is only $1056 and here is $2100!
Because you guys happily pay for it, and Europeans don't :D. "Only 1056 dollars"... insane price for just some rock and roll.
I didn’t “happily pay it!” But I know there are those who do, DOZENS of times. I did it “only” 3 times and the 3rd time only because he was playing 15 minutes drive from my house! (Never did 1st or 2nd Row, just Hot Sound Package and got 3rd Row once and 4th Row twice - all 3 times in center section) Also, I was financially able to do it. I still could now, but I will only go again if he comes to Atlanta and I will get Gold VIP. (Which here costs around $750 I think)
Nancy I think a big reason the USA gets so many more shows is because he can charge more and get it here, so why not play here as much as he does. That is obvious from a from a financial standpoint. We all spend money on whatever we choose to based on our own standards, that's everyones own choice. There is no wrong or right from an individual standpoint .I would rather pay cheaper prices of course, but he's getting the higher prices here. I never see empty seats in the front rows to the shows I've been to. When i look to purchase VIP seating for the majority of US shows they sell pretty fast. It is what it is.

I know, but that doesn’t make it fair. He doesn’t need the extra money, so why charge so much more here just because he can? The guy is a billionaire, ffs, and even his grandchildren will never want for a thing. Yes, “it is what it is” but I don’t have to like it. Just my 2 cents.
Btw, I just found out that Gold VIP was $850 in 2017!

Yes, that was my point, these ridiculous prices are being maintained by people who pay for it. We don't pay it, so they won't charge it. Regardless, it's still not fair.
Actually, until a few years ago no seats over here were blocked by champagne packages, front row Dublin '10 was regular price, available during the McCartney pre-sale... Cologne '11 first centre blocks same story, simply available through Eventim during regular sale.

I never knew about VIP seats until I got on this forum in 2011, but I think they had them here as far back as 2002. I know in 1993 there was just the lottery where you would get a numbered ticket as long as you were in line at 10 am at the Ticketmaster outlet (Turtle’s Record Store) and then they would say what the first ticket # was and you would line up according to your #. There were many of the outlets all over the city and even when I got #2 for the Moody Blues in the mid-‘90s, we got about the 17th Row. We paid $100 per ticket and thought it was highway robbery!!

And probably also the reason he does not tour Europe as much, he loses money. Plus the fact that many of them don't sell out even with the cheaper prices

No, this is how a night entertaintment should be: not being screwed over. And when one doesn't gross the same money as he does elsewhere, one doesn't "lose money". An arena in the US grosses 1,5 to 2,5 million on ticket sales, an arena in European 1 to 2 million. Poor Paul. And "cheaper prices" are like what, 150 euros for a standing ticket?

Actually all VIP tickets are almost half. And yes, you are losing money when you can be playing somewhere else and making more. It's why the US is always having his shows

This is the side of things I can't consider, because I get very angry...because I know the sheer greed of it all is the number one factor...and it pisses me off to know end, that a 76-year old legend who I adore more than most people I've known personally for decades, would make such greedy decisions. I'm not saying he should lose money by touring (although, I have a different definiton of that than Bob does), but it's really beyond an absurdity at this point...and has been for about sixteen years.

Whether we like it or not, the bottom line is that it's a business. With the record industry really sucking dust right now, touring becomes the majority of their income. US destinations that will pay higher ticket prices become more attractive to the business manager and tour promoter to book those shows. It's why he visits the US as much as he does. Too many people allow their heart to rule their head. Paul doesn't personally choose every stop on his tour, he has a business manager, staff and a promoter to do that for him. But when you look at why it's 3 years between European stops, it doesn't take a genious to see why. It is a business and will always come down to being a business.

I don't know of many entertainers, or sports teams, that lower prices on seats for sold out arenas or stadiums. I live in NY. Madison Square Garden is always sold out for the Hockey and Basketball games.. They make a ton of money and they haven't even put out a good product. . All the prices keep going up because the seats are full. The NY Yankees, who have always made good money from their fans keep raising the prices and getting it. I would rather pay less for everything but I don't know of any business entities that are very successful and just decide to lower the price because they have a lot of money.

None of us can begin to wrap our heads around the amount of wealth Sir Paul incurs daily...hell, hourly. SO, I don't think anyone spending their time on this forum can contribute an equal opinion to Paul's rationale...but that's the trouble with the music business. Someone like Paul, who speaks from the heart, touches the hearts of others, and then allows the powers that be to do the "head" work will ultimately balloon into exploiting their fanbase. Few do it worse...KISS will always take the cake...The Stones...then probably Sir Paul.

This is from 2014: Says Paul makes $2.25 per SECOND! That’s $8100 per HOUR! If he only worked 8 hours out of 24, he would make $64,800! That is the most I ever made in a YEAR as an R.N.

I’m lucky I could do the sound check package if I wished I simply won’t though,I find the whole “meet and greet” era that came into the live side of music horribly naff, where once if you got lucky you could bump into your idol now you can pay to do it,not for me thanks

But he’s losing money while touring in the US. Because he could exclusively do billionaire birthday party’s with a 45 minute set for a 5 million fee, but he only makes 2 million a show while playing the US states he did in July last year, so he’s losing 3 million. See, this doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. That's not the definition of "losing money". It's pure greed, end of.
Anyway, he's doing Vienna 5 December: http://www.oe24.at/musik/konzerte/Paul-McCartney-Neues-Album-Austro-Konzert/340435771
