"It's Not True" is on my "Press To Play" CD, Toris. It's not on yours? I dislike "It's Not True," but I do like "Stranglehold."
It's Not True not on the original release. Nor is Tough on a Tightrope or Write Away. They are all additions on one of the new releases. All were orginally B-side singles. None are part of the real album. I would've added them ahead of Pretty Little Head and Talk More Talk.
It's Not True.... I think it should've been released as a single.

And another take.... it seems like I am not alone in thinking this song is a gem.... even if I am going off topic

"Tough On a Tightrope" is on mine, too, but not "Write Away." I don't like "Talk More Talk" very much. Don't like "Pretty Little Head" a whole lot, either. I always thought the lyrics to the song "Press" are dirty. But kind of like the song. Or is it called "Press To Play" or is that the album title? It's far from one of my favorite albums by him."Tough on a Tightrope" is pretty good.
The song is just called “Press.” My vinyl album only has 10 songs on it! No Tough On A Tightrope, Write Away, It’s Not True. Did not know they later released these. I bought the album at a Beatles convention for $10 well after it was released.

Love that song!

I used to think "It's Not True" might be about Linda (?). And the song "Press," which is a bit naughty *or maybe I just have a dirty mind sometime, LOL

I do think “It’s Not True” is about Linda. And of course Press is a double entendre!

My memory was also that it was about Linda. The lyrics certainly fit. And my 'young' memory also seems to recall that Press was a little 'suggestive'... "right there, that's it, yes".... of course, I could be wrong.... I'm still wondering what 'Oklahoma' had to do with anything. Unless it's a euphemism I still don't understand.

I would also say It's Not True is the most defensive/supportive song Paul has ever put out when it comes to Linda. There can be no doubting it is about Linda. Surprised it wasn't more front and centre as a song. Beautiful on many fronts.

Probably the same way Tucson, Arizona had to do with "Get back." The words fit the space. That's about it. Someone said they didn't care for "Pretty Little Head." Love that song. It was different and had a great sound....not like anything Paul had done before.

No, “JoJo” from Tucson, Arizona referred to Linda’s first husband, Melville Joseph See. He moved to Tucson to go to the University of Arizona for graduate studies and Linda went there too.

That was the “suggestive” line I was thinking of - you are not wrong toris!
Who knows, as far as the Oklahoma reference though!

Wow the last full page of the "Egypt Station" thread , and nothing about Egypt Station on it !
I can't find a dedicated thread to "Get Enough" - ( maybe a few pages back now i don't know..)
Anyway, I'm assuming it was recorded at the same sessions, and the promotion is using similar artwork so , I guess this thread is a relevant place to put this . Just bought the download , and have been listening to it quite a bit . Must say, I really like song , autotune/vocoder voice effect and all . I wonder why he left it off the album, and i I wonder to that effect why hes released it now ?

Ah apologies ! Ive just seen the Get enough thread - don't now how i missed it !

I don't remember if I said this on here before (and I'm too lazy to go back and look, lol), but the series of songs from Confidante through People Want Peace, Hand in Hand and Dominoes is officially my favorite 4-song run on any McCartney album. Even if the rest of the album didn't exist, those 4 songs just fill me with joy every time I listen.
Yes you did Bruce and now is a good time to get this Egypt Station thread back on topic.
Like you, I still love this section of ES...those 4 songs in a row that you spotlight. I still love ES as a whole. Except for a track or two, I think ES is one of Paul's best Solo albums period.
Just posted my latest "Setlist" comment (see over in Rock Show) relative to Egypt Station. Your "4 in a row" comment made me think/dream of Paul doing "those 4 songs" consecutively during the upcoming USA "Freshen Up"tour dates (starting this May). That would be awesome in my opinion but I think I'm "more" dreaming than being realistic.
Paul will probably (and unfortunately) continue with pretty much the setlist he did last year including the same 3 ES songs. Yes he will also continue to play the 3 or 4 "rotation" songs to slightly change it up on consecutive nights but in effect they are not "new" songs to the set. Instead of seriously promoting his latest Solo album (his first #1 Solo Album by the way) he will stay with his "greatest hits" format for the 1st and 2nd timers. I get that because this format over the last 8 years has been very successful from a "ticket sales" point of view.
Conversely, you would think that Paul would want the masses to be more aware of his great Solo Catalog especially since Egypt Station was so well received by the music critics just last September. For those reasons, you would think that the man himself would want to add at least 4-6 of the most critically acclaimed ES songs. Fuh You and Come On To Me were not the most favored ES songs generally by the critics. The masses should hear songs like Happy With You, I Don't Know, People Want Peace, Confidante, Hand in Hand, Dominoes, Do It Now etc. Heck, I would love for Paul to end the show with "Hunt You Down, Naked, C-link". As I said, unfortunately, this will not happen. It's too easy for Paul to just go with the same formula. Hopefully, I will be shocked come end of May.

Let me just add to my previous post. As in the past, I'm not saying that Paul should drop his "true" signature Beatle and Wings' songs from his current setlist. That's probably 15-20 songs. Heck he could add a couple more for that matter (e.g. Beatles - Penny Lane or Wings - Silly Love Songs) as new additions for "freshen up" purposes. I'm talking about songs that are conversely not even close to "signature songs". These are the songs where more really good Egypt Station songs could easily be replacements (and new to the setlist!) and not take away from the experience of the 1st timers or more casual Macca Solo fans. I'm also not saying that Paul should drop the 3 ES songs that he played last Fall. They certainly add to the "Freshen Up" concept as well. Just give us more ES songs. I've spoken my peace and I think we'll find out in March during the South America shows.
PS won't be surprised if the only ES addition would be "Back in Brazil" since Paul would be playing in South America.

I wish I thought you were wrong, BJ. I think the lack of Egypt Station songs in his recent tour set lists borders on the criminal.

The name "JoJo" referred to Linda's first husband? But the next words after that line are "in a low-necked sweater"--I had read before that name refers to a fellow Wings member's girlfriend or wife at the time named "Jo" or "JoJo"--Denny Laine's paramour.
