EGYPT STATION

I am obssesed with the bonus track "Nothing For Free" from the Target exclusive!!! Right now, it's my favorite song from the entire Egypt Station album.
For anyone interested in credits, "Nothing For Free" is another Ryan Tedder / Zach Skelton / Paul McCartney production, as was "Fuh You". It was also another McCartney & Tedder composition.

One of the great things about Australia.... we are one of the first to get the new releases. A time thing.
I have had the album on high rotation for two-three days. It is growing, and growing, and growing. With every listen.
Dominoes... that song had me at 'hello'.
So many great songs, sounds. Not all perfect, but geez, it is (in the words of Larry David) 'pretty, pretty good'.
A couple of the songs that were released as 'singles', which I thought were a bit 'average' sit perfectly on the album, perfectly in their place. I've completely warmed to them. Particularly the opener 'I Don't Know'. And, yes, 'Fuh You'. It's a fine album track.
I need to continue to revisit every station before I can fully evaluate. But it's been some journey. One of Paul's more unique albums. I'm still working it out. But, I am completely enjoying it. The songs continue to grow on me.
It's amazinghow they grow on you & become earworms.
Oobu, those ear worms are getting inside my headphones!
I can't stop listening to Dominoes.
A lot of great tracks on this album.
And the Grand Central Station concert was awesome... particularly when he did Who Cares.... Brought a tear to my eye. Cos, as a father of a teenage girl, I've seen the damage bullying does. Particularly to girls. I loved what Paul did.
Despite Repeated Warnings... about forty seconds of that songs annoy me... otherwise, I am loving it.
The closer, great.
So much to love about this album.

Reading through the reviews on this thread so far it seems that every song has been liked or disliked by someone. Apart that is from the 'Station' tracks which don't seem to be liked or disliked by anyone.

Ha! It kinda annoys me people saying 16 tracks is too long for an album.... when really, two of them aren't actually songs...
Although, strangely the opening 'Station' does kinda work nicely into the first track (one I took a long time to fully appreciate)

I really love the choral section on 'Opening Station' and its such a shame it doesn't last longer although it does nicely set up 'I Don't Know'.

My CD finally arrived around 6 pm (our mail comes super late) and I listened to half of it. I like Happy With You and Who Cares. Always liked Come On To Me and Fuh You. I need a magnifying glass to read the lyrics though!
I need a magnifying glass to read the damned song names on the back of the "limited edition" concertina CD that I got from Amazon. Did you get a CD with a red strechy band around it under the shrink wrap? Bit of a cool feature. The opening piano is SOOOOO beautiful.
Yes, only my band is green! Agree about the opening piano!
Mine is green too & it's from Target. They probably looked at the concertina cd & saw that it kinda pops open & wanted something to keep it closed. LOL!

I got mine from Amazon I have a red ribbon on mine.

OK now I gotta get a green band one too! Where did you order from?
Target pre-order. Has 2 bonus songs.

Hi - I like the "Station" tracks ... they remind me of the opening bit to the Sgt. Pepper album.
Yes on further listening I am really starting to enjoy Dominoes as the gentleman from Austrailia mentioned.

Im seriously hooked onto Who Cares. I have not stopped listening to it. I wish he could have written that song when I was in school because I got severly bullied back then. I got bullied so bad I was traumatized from it. But now since Paul wrote this song, I am able to put my haunted past of being bullied away for good.
She's given up talking is my second favorite Paul McCartney song because that song is about a girl getting bullied too, and it s also how I was in school I never spoke to anyone after getting bullied. So these two songs are simlilar short story wise.

Funny, "Too Many People" was my "Who Cares" as a 15 year old gay kid in 1971: Too many people preaching practices/Don't let 'em tell you what you want to be." Those words may have literally saved my life.

Meanwhile, the industry trade pub HitsDailyDouble is predicting ES will be the top debut of the week, selling somewhere north of 110,000 copies. That's nearly double the first week of "New" but not expected to be enough to knock Eminem out of the no.1 spot.
Meanwhile, Mediabase reports that Come On To Me is rapidly gaining traction on Adult Contemporary radio. (access to the charts is free at AllAccess.com, but they'll make you create an account).

No. I had to hunt for the tracking number on my account. It said Shipped yesterday and will not be here until the 15th, I'm fairly pissed they did not send any Shipping Confirmation like they said they would, or notify me about a Delay! paulmccartney.com store, are you listening?! I was looking forward to playing it this weekend!

Green band here!
I’m seriously loving ES and I’m only into my 3rd listening. Haven’t decided my faves yet which is a good sign for me loving the entire record going forward. Have to say that the production is amongst the best I’ve heard.
