Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors
-
His UK winter tours were very good. I would love these shows to happen again. It was very special to hear Wonderful Christmastime! It made the year end on a very high note
-
Come on Paul! Last year on this date you announced the concert at Fenway. Got that bit of info as a Facebook memory this morning. I am SOOOO ready to get some concert news!
-
I think announcements for first string of shows will be in a week or two

oh wonderful. Hopefully Texas...
-
Wouldn't be all that surprising if announcements get put on hold until Japan is over and he's back home Very interested to see if any surprises added

Some of us have to save up to buy tickets... Going to hold off on FITD purchase just in case. Are sound checks different prices in different places? Always meant to go to one.
-
I'll definitely be holding off on FITD and maybe even Sgt. Pepper...however, I will be trying my luck at record store day exclusives tomorrow...

Sometimes prices are different country to country but if you are looking at say 100 US shows ( no, not a hint, just a ridiculous number) the price will be same for all those shows. I think they are up to $1600 or $1700 now per ticket

Thanks Bob...It might be cheaper to fly to England, at that price point with the lower price of the pound and the lower cost of the soundcheck... The inconsistency of the songs played, do you have any advice on that area, or perhaps just go to a stadium and listen outside... Detroit was good for that, Quebec's free concert years ago and also Verona was pretty good, if you found a good spot.

When it comes to setlist changes, that is closely guarded and out of my reach. What I do is to continually check the set lists after shows, while it doesn't list s/c songs, the usual set is transparent except for any special one off songs I am thinking since stuff will be ramping up seeming in Sept and beyond that the new album or at least new single will be out spurring at least a couple of changes but that is best guess

New album news has been very quiet and of course if it gets released earlier than you may see new stuff added earlier

As far as Japan, I tend to think set-list will not change from last year as one on one tour still rather new and Japan has not seen the songs added for this tour yet

Any indication as to whether upcoming gigs will be in areas he's played previously or areas that have never experienced a Macca-show before?

I'm in 95% agreement with Bob, but I do think that there might be one or two surprises at the Budokan gig (given that it is again being touted as a "special" show, and that - like last time - a lot of the tickets cost $1000 NOT including soundcheck, even though the last Budokan gig ran for about 2 hours instead of 3). The 2015 Budokan gig saw the live premiere of "Another Girl", which went on to join the main setlist for subsequent shows. It also included a few songs that hadn't been played often or for quite a while - "One After 909", "Dance Tonight", and "Got To Get You Into My Life". In 2015, the Budokan show was the final Tokyo gig. This time, it's the first one, so there may also be a chance of a new setlist addition from the Budokan being kept for the Tokyo Dome gigs, or used as an alternative to one of the other songs on the second night of three (similar to what happened during the last two runs of three gigs at the Tokyo Dome). Apart from that, I think the Tokyo Dome setlists will be pretty much in line with the later shows from last year, as Bob suggest. I wish I was going!!!! Cheers, Andrew.

They went up to $1600 from the 2014 price of $1500 (front row went from $2000 to $2100) if they raise it to $1700 for 2017, forget SC for me! I will just get Gold VIP.

A guy I know on FB from Memphis thinks he's coming there. Don't know where he got his intel.

yeah, I wasn't sure so I would say it will stay at $1600 but you do never know!

Apparently two concerts in Brazil are good to go: one in S?o Paulo (Allianz Parque) and one in Curitiba (Arena Da Baixada). Priority for the third one is being given to Salvador. If negotiations fail, Manaus gets the spot. If that doesn't work out either, Belo Horizonte will be chosen. Rumored dates are still October 13, 15 and 17.

So, after all quiet on the Western Front, the buzz seems to be back. I reckon I'd be best placed to forget him coming down under so I should probably start looking at some of the places rumoured for the rest of the year. Maybe I should have bitten the bullet when the JetStar Japan deal was on but, oh well. I know the UK hasn't been properly touted as a possibility but if I had to travel to see him, that's the place I have the most interest in seeing from a tourism point of view but it's also probably the most expensive in terms of flights. Would there be much difference choosing between North or South America?
