Fans on stage it's a no from me

As far as bogus signs go....I am "friends" with someone on FB who,at one of the concerts I was at got called up during the soundcheck because she had a sign that said, I Came All the Way From Russia "Paul saw it during his "Patrushka" talk. She was born in Russia, she hasn't lived there since she was a kid!She lives in Europe.but not Russia!A couple years ago,she had the same sign,& got on stage again ! She thinks it's funny to use the sign over & over .....& it works I don't mind the call ups during soundcheck, but don't lie to get up there!
-
the whole soundcheck thing is for elite fans. I attended one soundcheck and I am still on a low budget since then :-). but there were some fans from the US who came over to Europe because the SC tickets are much cheaper than in the US. But anyway, they didn´t care about budgets, they are ALWAYS at the shows and ALWAYS soundcheck. All the managers and security staff knew them by name and obviously it is exactly what is wanted: elite fans, they bring money.
-
The signing - at least the 3 I've seen - happen post-show. So people can very well head to the exits at that point. The only "interruption" is for the 10 seconds when he reads the signs. And the only time he's interrupted the show for a fan was in Nashville 2010 when he brought a kid on-stage to dance along with him during "Get Back". That being said, I remember him signing things after the show up until 2010 when a boardie got his Rock Band Hofner signed - I was unfortunately told by arena staff I couldn't bring in my RAM album (this was at one of the few shows he preformed Ram On - *sigh*)
-
Does he ever cut his show short to bring fans up on stage? Don't think so. If he doesn't, no big deal from me.

I've been a fan of the Beatles (and especially Paul) since February 1964. Having Paul personally call me and my son on stage during his soundcheck in Philadelphia, is still hard to believe...(thank God for the photos taken that day)!! Those of us over the years that experienced such an extraordinary event, aren't part of an "elite group of fans" as a previous poster indicated, but just for one brief moment in time extremely lucky. I think Paul should continue to have his fans join him on stage so more people can experince the feeling I had of finally meeting someone you've admired so much your whole life!
You did it at sound check. This is about his concerts. I thinks it is a bad idea and am glad I never had to sit in the stands when it happened. Sound check is another thing. That is more casual and probably the place it should happen. Though I think charging people to be at a sound check is a scam of ridiculous proportions. But that is another thread!
Good points and i agree that if he wants someone up on stage then the soundcheck is the place for it to happen, not the full show.

Simple really fans on stage = ten minutes two songs No Words and Arrow through me = ten minutes I know what I'd rather have ( unless the fan on stage was me ) He doesn't cut the length of the show but two more songs could be sung

Thought I'd chime in here as I was called up on stage last October 30 in Greensboro,North Carolina. I am a first generation huge Paul fan and have been to many shows and do not go to sound checks as they are too expensive. But sometimes I get very lucky with regular price tickets and was in the 2nd row. My whole time on stage was under four minutes because I have seen the videos on YouTube. I thought I was up there for 10 minutes but it was much shorter. If Paul didn't want to do this he wouldn't. He enjoys the audience reactions. For me he signed my left foot because I held up a simple sign that said "trick or treat please sign my feet" and he made it hilarious. I realize many people might not agree with Paul taking the time during the show to meet a fan. But until it's you up there you can't imagine what a thrill it is. I will never forget my 4 minutes on stage with Paul.
-
Again, nothing against those who have gotten to do it. But you got to be there while 15,000 watched. Based on what? Of COURSE Paul wouldn't do it if he didn't want to. So?? I can see bringing up an unfortunate person to give them the thrill of a life time. THAT would be cool. A physical challenge of some sort. But you got your foot signed. Really?? Come on. What does it have to do with ANYTHING at a concert? Paul can keep doing it, I won't be at a show where it happens, so, whatever. But as Audi said, it is ANTI-Rock n Roll.

I was there when you were called up and we were very happy for you, we enjoyed it with you!, His song count is exactly the same if he brings someone on stage or not, so the difference was the concert was extended 4 or 6 or 10 minutes...

Most people who disagree with people being called up on stage sound like they're jealous it's not them..for the people that have been called up, well done guys & keep it up. It's a personal touch that shows he cares about his fans.. And I agree..the song count is the same, so what exactly is everybody's problem with it?! Go to the concert, enjoy it & then, bugger off if/ when somebody gets called up..if it's bothering you guys so much, you need to take a look at yourselves & wonder why something that has no baring on your lives bothers you so much!!! :

Do you understand the concept of an internet forum? Someone ELSE started this thread asking for opinions. We gave them. YOU said "bugger off" and rolled your eyes. THAT is very childish and offensive. Grow up and learn to communicate like an adult.
