Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours

If it's true, I'm bringing toothpaste and mints. We'll all use them and exhale the mintyness onto his face when he performs his mintyness. Mmmmmmm minnntttyyyneeessssss.

My gut tells me Paul is gonna "wow" ALL of us. I want him to take as much time off as he needs. And I'm still hoping for this:
(right, Joshy?) -
I will remain optimistic. Right now, McCartney is working on some music for a video game, so he is not working on a new tour yet. Also, the Olympics are coming up. And I understand he has a new Paul McCartney album to finish. It would be cool if in 2013 we see a tour in the tradition of the 89/90 or 1993 tour, ie promoting a new album and also some hits and obscure gems.

(right, Joshy?)Lol Right!
I still think it would be a genuinely good medley to do live!

I think the new album is the key and will precede his going back on the road. He has to be tired of doing Dance Tonight (now five years old) and Sing the Changes (4 years old) and be ready to do new music. I am not counting Kisses on the Bottom's since he has very wisely limited live performances from that album to just My Valentine. It would be great to have up to six songs off a new album like he did with the live material from Flowers on the Dirt in 89-90.

i just hope for his own sake that he has decided to 'call it a day' with regards these 'world tours' or indeed 'mini tours'. they are usually a sucsess financialy for him but his credability is getting lower and lower not to mention his unique factor. basically you can dress it up anyway you like but his singing has become pretty dreadful.hes not even 'alright for his age' anymore.... it would seriously delight me if paul announced his retirement from the 'live stage'...perhaps the odd 'one off' but even then he would have to be careful. concentrate on making music.thats an abilty of his that remains powerfull.

5th-beatle posted this better mix of Paul's recent Mexico concert, and I just can't picture Macca being anywhere near ready to hang up his concert shoes:
Is his voice like it used to be? No. Are there moments when he sounds like his younger self? Definitely! Was this vocal-performance of "Let It Be" better than The Queen's Jubilee? Sounds like it to my ears. With the voice that's he's got left, he needs to give his "Flaming Pie crowd" the show we deserve. And, above all else, he and his band continue to play with an amazing fire. Paul is still a great charismatic stage performer. Full of energy. I can accept a compromised vocal-range of a 70-year-old man. -

Paul stopping isn't an option....and that is that.

That's right. He's got a lot left to offer us.. and I'll certainly take it! To the very few who want him to give it up... they should just give it up themselves and stop going to see him. Period. We'll enjoy it!

Maybe I'm Amazed, Manchester 2011
Absolutely dreadful. I can barely sit and listen to it. I can't believe I enjoyed hearing that at the show, it sounds so awful now. Oh wait.. That's a complete lie! Months later this performance still brought me to tears. It's easily the most difficult song vocally that he performs live and he nailed it that night. He also nailed it in Liverpool the next night. Paul does not, I repeat, DOES NOT need to be thinking about "packing it in" anytime soon. -

Some times his voice is better than others, but every show I have seen has been thoroughly enjoyable! Looking at the crowds in the concert videos they look like they are having a great time! Unless he has, God forbid, health or family problems I hope he keeps on playing.

I'm jealous because some, including aakiboh were able to be at both shows! The concert was great!! When and where can I see him again!

Sounds like a sensible solution! If your not enjoying it, why go?

Looks like no rumors huh?
-
So what with the news of new material and a 'new show' in the future... do you reckon the usual December UK shows will be happening or will Paul break the trend?
-
I hope he breaks the trend & comes here to the states for Christmas this year!
