As one of us is called Stella, we once had a sign saying: "Stella says hello!" which I hoped would attract his attention because of his daughter's name. At one point it really looked as if it caught his eye and he read it. But that was all. It's all part of the fun, but signs shouldn't be in people's way or lead you to the stage. By the way, some people around us helped to keep the sign up, very nice of them.

I was in the front row in Lincoln and also did soundcheck. Signs were held up during soundcheck, but he made no mention of them. No mention of any sign was made during the concert easy. In previous years, Paul has told the story of how he sees the signs and he's trying to remember the words, etc. Since the proposal in Albany, nobody has been on stage. I have not heard of anyone getting on stage during sound check either.

Still debating about whether to bring a sign or not. Its fun to make, but not to haul around to the bathroom with you.

I'm wondering how far back Paul can read the signs. I'm in row 24 for Candlestick but want to bring a sign, but not sure if it will be worth it or not. I had one in DC last year but I was in row 7, so he saw it of course. I was careful about only holding it up quickly in-between songs though, not during songs as to not annoy those behind me.

We were in row 28 last year in DC, and he couldn't see the sign a bit. In the ballparks, everything is much more spread out.

I agree. Starting with the Albany concert, I also haven't seen him sign anything from the stage at the end of any of the concerts I've been to. Has anyone noticed him autographing anything?

Does he acknowledge the signs during the concerts on the current tour? In the past, he has paused in between songs once during the concert to talk about the signs, how he has a hard time singing/playing and reading the signs, and then proceeds to actually read one or two. So is he doing this on his current go 'round?

He read my sign to himself in Pittsburgh (3rd row center) and did a "not bad" face but that was it. He did do the bit about signs and read some of them out loud. Nobody was brought up in the soundcheck or show. Personally, I've been bringing signs for about 10 years now but I'm just about ready to give up on it...it doesn't seem to be paying off much for me and it's a lot of hassle.

A mother and daughter got signed tonight at the Missoula show. I have no idea if they had a sign with them or not.

I once held up a sign that went with the English Tea song. It was during Hey Jude, but he did a little drinking tea motion so I know he saw it.

I don't know how you could justify blocking several people's views just on the off chance that Paul might see your message. Why? Do you think you're telling him something he hasn't heard before? Think about the people behind you whose vision you are obstructing. Thanks

As long as people only hold them up for a few seconds and only when Paul is looking in that direction, I don't see a problem with people having fun with it. The signs have become a small part of the show.

Those of us here that bring signs hold them up briefly between songs now and then and when he does his sign bit when he reads them aloud. I do think about the people behind me which is why I'm very mindful and careful with my signs. And actually yes my sign is probably most likely something he hasn't heard before.
