Far, far from my fave album.... but I am wrapt for Paul!
Still can't work out how Find My Way gets into the "rock" category.... but, I guess these days anything with a real guitar is seen as edgy.
Although, that song has grown on me.... even if I think the version with Beck is better.
The Grammy's have been a piece of junk for decades now, but I still hope Paul gets a win.
Yes, the Grammy's are a hoot. There are some head scratchers in there.....ABBA, which couldn't buy a Grammy...or nomination... for all the money in the world when they were int their prime in the 70s, now they get nominated for Record of The Year for a song nobody has really heard of...or heard period!. They sound good..like the old days....but it's a little late. And too little. And Kanye gets nominated for his worst album in forever. If he were going to win, it should have been years ago. Taylor Swift will reach in and win it again so he can rip it our of her hands! Happy for Paul.. He has a chance....I feel much better about his album than you do, but that happens....but he won't beat the Foo Fighters.
Yep, right on so many fronts... and... who knows what Kanye might do...

Best Rock Song: Paul McCartney---Find My Way
Best Rock Album: Paul McCartney---McCartney III
Funny he is up against Foo Fighters in both categories and he just inducted them into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!
He is also up against a song partly written by Laurence Juber's daughter Ilsey (and performed by Weezer)

Just got back from Chicago last night. Thank God I had my "long johns" with me. For this Florida boy, it was cold!
Thrilled to hear that Paul is nominated for Best Rock Album and Rock Song while I was away for Thanksgiving. I'm fine with this. I think Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will win a couple of the big general awards mostly for sentimental reasons. I also think Paul has a better chance for winning in the "Rock" Category for similar "sentimental" reasons.
I wasn't surprised that McCartney 3 was nominated. I do think it helped Paul a lot that McCartney 3 Imagined also reached #1 in the charts. It kept the overall "buzz" for Paul alive in the following year.
Like Kestrel and Yankeefan believe, McCartney 3 is a very good album and flows very well from song to song. Besides Find My Way, Sliding, The Kiss of Venus, Seize the Day and When Winter Comes...I have also always liked Pretty Boys and Women and Wives. Even Deep Deep Feeling and Deep Down grew with me upon repeated listens. While I think McCartney 3 is very deserving, it's not in his top 4 or 5 albums imo. it's still a very strong album imo that is quite cohesive all in all.
Keeping my fingers crossed that both nominations WIN. As I said, I think he has a good "sentimental" chance.

Another sentimental choice for "Best Rock " song might be "Distance" by Wolfgang Van Halen, son of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen who died in 2020. As for the merits of the music, I think "Find My Way" is as good if not better than any of the other songs even though I find it more "Pop" than "Rock".

I'm glad for Paul, and for the positive publicity for McCartney 3, but personally I think he's in a while other league artistically compared to the other nominees anyway.

The Grammy Awards have been postponed due to COVID outbreak with no reschedule date set at this time. Guess we will have to wait longer to see if Paul wins a Grammy.

Hey Yankeefan...have you heard anything new about a "new" Grammy date?

Nope. If I had to make a guess for a rescheuled date it would be late May or early June. The worst of Omicron should be passed and it is no longer flu season. I don't think they would want to reschedule much later, guess we will see.

I recently listened to McCartney 3 again after a while, and I think it holds up really well with Paul's late career run of great albums. I've loved all of his later albums, and I keep hoping for another album even though it's only been less than a year and a half since M3.

Anyone in the UK yet to buy McCartney III (or needs a second copy for the car?), HMV are currently selling the CD album at the reduced price of £6.99 in their BIG SALE.

Funny, I listened to McCartney III the other night for the first time since probably October, and still came away feeling... meh. Mostly it's not bad -- well, except Deep Deep Feeling, which is just torture -- but nothing on it soars like his best stuff. Even the tracks I like best, Women and Wives and Seize the Day, feel a little shortchanged by the all-solo production. Slidin' is fun but I find myself getting tired of it. There are Paul albums I love and a few I dislike, but M3 remains the only one I'm just indifferent to.

The ones I like best are probably The Kiss of Venus, Seize the Day, and When Winter Comes. Deep Deep Feeling is the only song on it that I don't like much, although I've come to like it a little.
In my opinion, only thing that holds M3 back a little compared to Paul's other recent albums is that it only has 11 tracks and the bonus tracks are not all new songs.
Song for song though, I love it. I hope Paul keeps releasing more new albums, the more the better as far as I'm concerned.
