1 part snarky + 1 part truth: I've always been DYING to know what the setlist was like for the original "aborted" 1980 Japanese tour.
It seems like he's been playing the same one for decades, so probably the set list he plays now!!!

I would think the same as the UK December 1979 set lists.

I've seen countless of festivals, pub gigs, venue gigs, arena gigs, stadium gigs, sports events and what all not from Australia to Europe to North America and back, but I never was shocked in this way. And we had to PAY for this! Like said, this won't ever, ever happen in The Netherlands. But never Will Call/box office pick up for me every again (outside my own country).
I went through this a number of times, the most disappointing moment being in Liverpool 2003. We slept rough at the Albert Dock (ok it was June ) to gain good standing places. Then we had to split, some went to collect tickets and by the time they came back the security was already letting people in. We made it in the 3rd row but it was so disappointing. Never again

I am starting to wonder if the June 19 date might be the only Summer USA gig. Maybe he will come back in Aug and/or Sept?

I was told USA is happening. Don't know where. I heard mainly East

I would guess there will be a couple more concerts in the US right after Firefly, a week off before Denmark, another 7-10 days off and then several US dates in July/August.

I don't know...bit of a gap between France on June 11 and Denmark on July 4. Also, if you're doing one show in the States, and there is time, why not do a couple of others...makes sense $$$ wise.
-
Ok, maybe a mini tour of the east coast of the US around the June 19 date. I can see that.

I could see him sneaking Appreciate into the setlist for one of the Japan shows. By the way, was Albany the only place where the band performed the alternate Appreciate-like intro to Live and Let Die? -Rubber Soul13
There was a very weird intro to Live and Let Die in either Dodger Stadium or Candlestick. I can't remember which venue. But when it began I recall thinking...what IS this?
He did it in Atlanta too, that's how I knew to start recording on my camera, as I wanted to get the entire Live And Let Die on video. Don't know what you'd call the intro. Just some stuff he made up.

I heard it at the Albany show and thought for sure he was playing "Appreciate"! (Especially after doing "On My Way To Work" earlier that evening).

That gives me a little hope. I have been starting to worry. I'm very happy for the Europeans.. They have waited a while, and it's certainly their turn. I'd LOVE to fly out to England for a show or 2 there, but hubby and I just can't do it this year. Maybe a few years down the road if Paul's still doing this. As for the U.S., the gap in June seems to be the only probable time, unless he comes here after the European run ends July 9th. I'm thinking NY may be likely in August for Shea Stadium 50th anniversary.. Although I have been hoping for indoor venue in NY. Oh well, I'm scoping the thread daily in hopes to see a legitimate US rumor!

'Eleanor Rigby' and 'With A Little Luck' were rehearsed for 1980 as well:

Thanks for the explanation - that's surely frustrating. The problem is that pre-sale through crowdsurge doesn't give you print at home option, so I might just wait for the general sale directly with the venue. Is the area near the arena ok enough safety-wise to camp out from the night before? The GA show I did was Atlanta 2010 where the pre-sale tickets were supposed to give you an hour earlier entry - at same time as VIPs. Some camped out, I got there 4am day of the show. So it was about 12 hours in full sun and humid 100 degree weather (37 ish centigrades). At 4pm people started cutting in front of us. Some talked to security, there was jeering and pushing and people linked arms since we'd been chatting all day long. Horrendous organization! So there was no early entry for pre-sale, just a mad dash of fans down a slopping grass field to make it to the front.

Ok, ready for that can of worms? It's very unlikely you will get any organizational issues for an event in The Netherlands, but with general admission standing, and without the tickets in hand before you go to the venue, I would never be too relaxed on it. Really, go for e-tickets, that's just the default option over here anyway. Print at home, go to the venue in all calmness, join the "queue" whenever you want for the spot you want. After this I finally found a place, at a side, it must have been at 30 rows back, crammed in between heads, the lights went off and 'Magical Mystery Tour' started. If they would have just either sent off the tickets or open the box office before the doors opened, I would have been front row. The view:
From this moment on I forgot about everything, and I must have been in heaven when he dropped 'Come And Get It' and 'The Word' on us like it was nothing. But still... I've seen countless of festivals, pub gigs, venue gigs, arena gigs, stadium gigs, sports events and what all not from Australia to Europe to North America and back, but I never was shocked in this way. It's actually the majority of the month of June he would have here. He's available June 12th-July 3rd...I would be extremely surprised if he broke his European tour in half JUST for the Firefly festival. I would prefer a 50th ann. gig at Citi Field for Shea...but as we know, he doesn't really do anniversaries...or any acknowledgements really that don't fit the well-scripted show he runs these days.

The square where all the shops and venues and stadiums are is pretty much deserted and dark during the night. I wouldn't recommend staying at a place like that at night anywhere in the world. Also, camping out the evening before is really a waste of time and energy, you don't even see that for One Direction. Besides, you get the people with early entrance in front of you anyway.

Not sure whether to go or not... set list seems pretty similar to 2011, paid £111 (after p+p) for back of block 102.....

I think he's breaking the tour in half because he spends a lot of time in New York anyway, and he'll surely have Bea for some of that time. I think the other US dates will be after Europe.

That's valid too...I wasn't just suggesting more concerts. He's got countless ties to NYC...and I'm sure it's no coincidence he'll be nearby on his birthday.

Some dude on the Firefly phone line said Firefly is the only US gig of the summer. Just doesn't seem right. The schedule matches up.... Plus since 2009 HES always done a series of shows in the US. Lowest was 2012 (2 shows. Still. Then three in Canada).

Does ANYONE have info about USA?????? ANYTHING???? Starting to worry.
