would be a thrill if he sang "Help!" it occurs to me, I thought maybe they shouldn't have done that silly movie "Help!" but the songtrack redeems it "Help!" sounds like sort of a cool rockabilly-influenced number to me, kind of folk rock too, and kind of another genuis song
No, no, no, no, NO! He does not need more Beatles songs weighing down the set. He needs to delve into his more recent work and stop harping on about the Beatles! Besides, the solo stuff is as good if not better than the Beatles. Less Help, more Hope (of Deliverance!)
Might be a BIT of an overstatement...... :
Not really. Give me Biker Like An Icon over Hey *yawn* Jude or Let It *zzzzz* Be any day. Over hyped and more than overplayed.

but just an opinion.
Again, thank you for sticking up for someone with the 'unpopular opinion'! People round here don't like it if you don't conform and lap up the Beatles, do they! Jeeeez...

I love all the Beatles songs in the set the more the better... I am just kidding I like to hear the Wings also...just thought I would throw in a zinger..
-
I'm grateful for the few songs from his recent albums that have made it to the set. I'll continue buying his albums because he's still that good -- despite the obvious reality that consumers of his newer albums -- such as myself -- are merely supplemental income for him.

Exactly. So I guess if we don't lap up the Beatles tribute show that makes us supplementary fans. Ridiculous really, isn't it!

Ahem. Back on topic ... I was just reading a Beatles examiner story about how Paul really really carefully rehearsed this exact set list when he was with the band in LA. It's kinda endearing thinking about Paul being so cautious and nervous and wanting it to sound just right. Perhaps he just needs the set list to be in a certain precise order so that he can remember how it's all supposed to go. It's hard enough for performers at their peak in their 20s and 30s to put on such a huge show. It's easy to forget that Paul is doing all this at nearly 71 years old! My mother (bless her) can barely remember where she left her keys. In the spirit of positivity, then, rather than be snarky -- as is my natural inclination -- I would like to propose one other little change to the set list that I wish Paul would consider. I love Hey Jude. I want to hear it in July. But I wish he would drop the boy-girl singalong and just do the song and let us all join in.
If this is the case maybe Paul will keep the same set right through to August?!
Well that would be fine with me. I'm seeing the show in July and 19 of the songs will be ones I didn't hear the first time I saw Paul in concert in 2009. Unfortunately I don't have the money to follow Paul around on tour. He has to come to my town and he finally is again. I don't think he'll do any more new songs in Brazil. There's no point. He's gotten a lot of press from the Brazil shows. I think he should save the next few surprises to generate some headlines when the tour arrives in Florida.
My biggest worry is that the US "surprises" will be changing out some of the new songs (and probably dropping HOD) for songs that aren't quite as new...
I would be REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY disappointed if we don't get to hear Hope of Deliverance in the States. Come on, grasshopper. Don't let us down.

It's absolutely criminal that he'll probably drop a solo gem like Hope of Deliverance while dreariest of Beatles tunes like The Long and Winding Road, Blackbird, Eleanor Rigby or Yesterday remain...

NOOOO!!! It would be absolutely sacrilegious if Paul did not perform "Yesterday". It proved Paul as a solo artist, even while being part of "the band". And can you imagine the number of casual fans that would be so disappointed & outraged to not hear him sing "Yesterday" live at the concert. As much as I like HOD, I don't think the casual fan would choose that over "Yesterday". Most of the concert attendees are the casual fans that are thrilled just to see Paul McCartney the legend and would be expecting and thrilled to see him do "Yesterday".

: If most of the audience are casual fans then they probably won't even notice if he doesn't do it. So he might as well drop it and put something decent in! Ever Present Past? About You? Sun Is Shining? Young Boy? Anything that shows he has an iota of pride in his fantastic body of work outside of the Beatles.

Well, the fact that Paul unexpectedly did "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" made me wonder what other Lennon songs I'd like to hear him sing, and "Help!" is one. Ones that Lennon sang the lead on--it's interesting to hear Paul's take on them. A novelty and although Beatles music, something different.

He didn't sing "Yesterday" at the BBC Electric Proms concert in 2007, and I actually didn't realize that he'd skipped it until the concert was over! I think I was rather mesmerized by seeing him do "House of Wax" .

I want to hold your hand....

He just needs to cull a good 40-50% of Beatles songs and replace them with Wings and solo song to balance out the set and more accurately reflect his career. But as I have mentioned in the past, he's just resting on his laurels and touting his golden oldies Beatles tribute act around...

I wanted to let this rest, but this is just too daft to let it slip:

[..] Sarcasm is a wonderful thing, but perhaps you could use a little common sense and not use it in posts? And again, feel free to stop taking swipes at countries that aren't your own.
Don't be silly now. Taking swipes at countries?! You know you are quoting my post in which I explained what I meant with my initial post for those who can't read, even corrected it while I had no reason to, right? Is this still not good enough for you? Next time I will use loads of smileys in every sentence, just in case you misunderstand what I'm trying to say .

nobodytoldme Don't sweat the small stuff. Let it go. You were the BEST on Saturday night when you reported the set-list live. Made a boring night very enjoyable. Thanks.

I'm just happy he's still touring...

Why stop there? How about swapping Yesterday out, with Spies Like Us.
