Wait, where is this about, and where it the original post? McCartney was in Vienna last night.
they are talking about the Brooklyn, NY concerts which are happening this weekend. Looks like Paul zipped into Vienna, yes, but he has to be back in NYC by Saturday.
Why was he in Vienna for a day? He sure has a large footprint!
Opening of an exhibit of Linda's photos there.
He just made a lightning trip to Vienna. Stayed long enough to say Goodnight Vienna...

Funny, I'm having an exhibit of Linda's photos tomorrow. And as long as he's in Brooklyn anyway, he can drop by.

I don't believe for one second that McCartney drops songs because they aren't classics with staying power, I think that's a complete and total fabrication and not true at all! McCartney drops songs simply because he doesn't want to perform them anymore, it's just that simple, he may decide to perform a song again but it's totally up to his descretion. If he thought a song wasn't classic and didn't have staying power, he probably wouldn't perform it in the first place. McCartney just wants to do something different that's all. Sometimes I think people try and pass off their personal feelings about some songs onto McCartney.
Just my opinion, but having seen Paul perform in Brooklyn both nights, I have a feeling "All Together Now" may not last the duration of the tour. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, however the remarks made by Paul following the song both nights "not one of my most intellectual tunes" may be a clue. I guess we'll see as we continue "Out There".

Doesn't matter. It's still a Beatles' classic from the Yellow Submarine Blu-ray released last year. It's also a "deep cut" and the press is loving this tour. I bet he'll keep it in for a while.

This set list in OUT THERE tour is great but for my opinion missing some song which he always play : 1.Jet 2.A day in the life + Give peace of chance 3. Dance tonight
-
Yeah, I always like Dance Tonight & it gave Abe a chance to "show off" his dancing skills! It's a fun sing along song.
-
I'm kinda happy that "dance tonight" is gone. It was losing the magic if you've seen the routine more than twice which I fully admit, is a problem that only the buyer is responsible for. But I am REALLY gonna miss "Jet". I do not approve of that removal.
-
I totally agree with you, WixRocks!, really think "Jet" was one of the best songs in Paul's set list and such a fantastic live song, always had everyone singing along. I'm kind of surprised he's taken it out to be honest, since the crowd always enjoy it so much but maybe he just felt it's been in there too long.
-
"Eight Days A Week" has actually made me miss "Jet."
-
I'd take both of them over some of the Beatle mainstays.
-
All "one-off" concerts aside...this is the first Paul McCartney tour WITHOUT Jet in the setlist. But for the most part, Paul removed quite a few songs that needed to be removed... -Sing The Changes -Dance Tonight -I've Got a Feeling -A Day in The Life/ Give Peace a Chance

The first two legs of the New World Tour in 1993 also omitted "Jet". It wasn't added until the end of that tour.

Didn't know that! Then perhaps there is hope for Jet to make a comeback tomorrow night! I can live without Junior's Farm!
-
If he could fit in Jet, Letting Go and Please Please Me... WOW!!!

Jet could replace Junior's Farm Letting Go could replace Paperback Writer Please, Please me could replace Day Tripper ...sounds good to me!!!
-
Not me! Jet has been performed almost since the 70s, keep Junior's Farm it's still fresh in the set and it rocks harder! I like Letting Go, but if you're going to replace Paperback Writer, you have to replace it with a song that rocks like it does. Same with Day Tripper, Please Please Me isn't an equal trade off. Birthday would be a good replacement.
-
'Jet' really does rock, but can understand why its been rested. I was surprised that 'The Night Before' was dropped, and its only been in the show a short while.
-
that paul removed jet from the current setlist and added a song like hi hi hi was a very big surprise. Jet is undoubtedly a great live song and I like it too. But I'm not sad that it was dropped because a song like 1985 remained. The decision is in my opinion a chance for further setlist surprises. Letting Go was really to short performed and Two many people par exemple too. My wife and me are also "tired" of Paperback Writer and others songs like Get Back, Blackbird, Here today, Somethink, Eleanor Rigby and Helter Skelter. This songs could easy replaced by other adequately songs like I saw her standing there, Another Girl, Sergeant Pepper lonely ..., Wanderlust, Put it there, So glad to see u here, Here comes the sun and so on. *Dream on*: Or this 6 slots could use to promote the new album *dream of*
-
Yes...Helter Skelter has long over-stayed its welcome in my book. :
